The room had all we needed. The bed was very comfy, we slept well. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast good.
In our part of the hotel there was no lift and a lot of stairs, it was like a warren. The signage was hard to understand. I was never informed there was no lift and I find steps a problem. And the unclear signage meant we walked even further up and down stairs! I think the hotel should make it very clear there is no lift in that part. I definitely wouldn't stay in that part of the hotel again, it was very frustrating the way this wasn't made clear.

The staff were great. We visited to see Taylor Swift, and they had made a big effort with friendship bracelets and a bottle of Prosecco in the room on arrival. Given that they were so busy, we were also very pleased to be able to check in early. It was very clean and despite the bedrooms having earplugs, we couldn’t hear much street noise given it central location. Let the Scottish touch in the free minibar of iron bru, Scottish water and tunnocks wafer biscuits, much needed after a 10 hour concert experience
It was very expensive, but only because of the concert we went to and the nights being busy in edinburgh

I stayed with my mother for 4 nights and we loved this hotel! The room was large and comfortable with high ceilings, including the bathroom. It was also super clean. There was a fridge and teapot/coffee pot in the room along with complimentary water, canned drinks/soda, hot cocoa, and snacks, which were replenished every day! The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our rate included breakfast, which was always delicious! The location was very convenient - just a short walk to St. Andrews Square and we could walk almost everywhere. Tons of restaurants are just a short walk from the hotel and the tram stop is right in front of the hotel, which makes getting to the airport so convenient. We would absolutely come back here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Edinburgh!
We loved everything! I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about this hotel or our stay!

We got the biggest room in the building so it was quite spacious. No idea how it compares to the other rooms but we would ask for it specifically if we go again. The location was near new-town so that was great.
It was a bit of a maze to get to the room from the check in desk. Also, if you’re using a near car park, you’ve got to lug your luggage outside pretty far. There isn’t an unload zone near the hotel but some people just block the road to unload. Being foreign and in a hired car, we aren’t about to challenge the norms as we don’t fully understand the norms.

Good central location. Breakfast selection was excellent with vegan options like porridge with plant-based milks. Kettle in room for tea and coffee making (with decent sized mugs) and a few freebies in the mini-fridge - bottled waters, IRN-bru and tunnocks caramel bars. All staff very friendly and helpful. Bar looked good but we didn’t drink there.
Our room was a bit dark, looking out onto a windowed wall and the laminate floor wasn’t wearing well with gaps between the boards - ie no big problem! It was a bit pricey but compared well with other Edinburgh hotels.

Lovely location, close to a lovely restaurant we ate at, a small Tesco, a shopping centre behind the hotel, the train station and the Christmas market. Delicious hot breakfast options delivered to your table and great hot drink options to go with it. Lovely waterfall shower and TV at the end of the bed. Great size room compared to most, and we got to the hotel early and stored our luggage - this was brought up to our room for us when it was ready and we were out. We were also able to store our luggage after check out, ready to grab when we were on our way back to the train station later in the day.
We noticed the room could use a little touch up where there are some cracks in the walls and marks on the floor where the TV stand has been pulled away from the bed. Also found there was a lack of plug sockets in the room. The bed felt quite firm compared to last time we stayed in the same room in 2020 and it was two single mattresses pushed together, where last time it was one big lovely spongy mattress. The pillows were way too soft this time too so we woke up a few times during the night. All things considering, it's still a better room than most hotels we've stayed at in Edinburgh.

Comfort and unusual decor of the room, plus the treat of hot chocolate drink as well as tea and coffee. Cooked breakfast was cooked when chosen, so much nicer than having food which is kept hot, and this was brought to the table. All the staff went out of their way to welcome visitors personally, remembering our names, and were very helpful
The drawback that taxis are not allowed to stop outside the hotel, and you have to walk 4-5 minutes to the waiting place can be a difficulty. The hotel cannot change this; it is a drawback of staying in a historic part of this city.

Good location 5 mins walk from the bus station.
The check in was not good. We arrived at the hotel at 13.30, they told us that our room would be ready at 15.00, we left our luggege and when we came back at 21.00 our luggage was still in the middle of the reception and the check in was not done! The room was small and the floor was not level and had an incline. The ceiling was slanted leaving very little space in the room where you could stand up straight. In general the staff appear to have an indifferent attitude and felt unwelcome.

Very confortable room, big enough, clean, silent for sleeping, nice shower, with some free goodies in the fridge. Staff super nice and helpful (they helped me to book an excursion), very good locations with near restaurants, pub in the corner, supermarket and shopping nearby.
It's not cheap but yet Edinburgh is not cheap for accomodation in general, so it's worth it because of the quality of the facilities and staff.

The staff were so helpful with storing our luggage as we arrived hours before booking in time. We spent a few hours in Edinburgh and when we returned our luggage had been taken to our room. The room was very nice and had everything anyone would need. We did find that we tended to roll into the middle of the mattress but other than that we had no issues. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was nice and quiet. The breakfast was excellent and lots of choices, a good start to the day. Couple of minutes walk to playhouse theatre, St James quarter and Omni centre. Trams are just outside the hotel.
We actually thought the hotel had a restaurant but they just have a breakfast room at present.
