My friend and I stayed at the Holiday Inn for Christmas holidays. We really enjoyed it! The room is cosy, very clean, there is everything you need. The beds are extremely comfortable, absolutely amazing! The windows overlook a quiet street and there are blackout curtains. Breakfast is terrific, there are options to choose from, there is always a spare table even during the busy hours. We would love to thank the staff helping with breakfast, very helpful and professional, super friendly and polite, especially VJ, he stole our hearts and made our stay extra special, with his warm smile and kind well-wishes every morning, he is a legend! Please, give the man a deserved recognition (and a pay-rise:)). The staff at the desk is also very welcoming and helpful. The location is the best, everything is literally within a walking distance, a tram which goes to the airport stops exactly opposite the hotel. Highly recommend, a good value for money!
The lighting in the room was insufficient.

The location is excellent, very central and close to train station. Room and the bathroom were big and clean. The bed, blanket and pillows and bed sheets were very comfortable and very clean. Kettle and iron were provided. The wi-fi was very good. The shower was clean and modern but drained slowly. Hot breakfast was excellent with lots of varieties and breakfast room was very good. Free tea and coffee are available in a relaxing atmosphere at the lobby. Staff very friendly and helpful particularly at the reception. I had a very nice stay and highly recommend the hotel.
Shower drainage should be checked.

The stay was great, we were probably off season so the price deal was amazing with breakfast included which had a great selection of food and beverages. The location is PERFECT, i have been in Edinburgh about 8 times now and this is no doubt the most strategic place to stay (especially if you have big luggage, the tram stop to the airport is right in front of the exit). The room was tidied up every day, and the beds are SUPER comfortable. Also the staff was always very kind and helpful.
Only complaint is that there is stairs to get in the hotel which is quite difficult if you have heavy luggage, and also has a few steps of stairs to go down to the elevators to get to the rooms after you’ve passed by the reception.

I liked the breakfast every morning and it was all freshly cooked and hot, we had the biggest room in the hotel and the amount of space was great , the staff were welcoming and very friendly and I can't thank them enough and the hotel overall has made my first time in Scotland not the last time , I'll definitely be back
I wasn't a big fan of the view from our room but it was bearable, the drinks at the bar were a bit on the pricey side (£6.20 for a Corona) , the wardrobe in our room was a bit small for the good sized room that we had and we were limited to the amount of clothes we were able to put in there , the cleaner didn't change our bed sheets throughout our stay , I got a blood stain on the duvet cover on the first night and it was still there until I checked out 3 days later

We loved everything about this hotel. The staff are welcoming and helpful. My daughter was exhausted after an early flight and no sleep. I requested an early check-in and they very kindly sorted us out. She slept like a baby the beds are so comfortable. The shower is the most powerful I've ever experienced so relaxing after a long day of exploring the city. Breakfast was plentiful and decent amount of options. The staff there were also very helpful and friendly Keeping the breakfast options stocked up. The hot chocolate from the machine was delicious. The bar stays open until 1am. The location couldn't be any better with a,Hugh shopping centre across the road. Play house theatre and the omni centre. The tram stop right outside the hotel. I bought the 3 day tram tickets for 27e for both of is and it was so easy for getting around. The price of the room was great value for money. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to edinburgh. Very happy with our stay

Fntastic location, incredibly friendly and helpful staff. I travel a lot and sometimes have extra requests – this time was no different, and nothing was a problem. Printing something? Changing a room? All sorted with a smile. I also loved that you can leave your luggage after checkout – that really helps when you have an evening flight and want to explore the city without dragging your suitcase around. Also a big plus for the tea and coffee available during the day – such a nice touch
Nothing really – everything met my expectations.

The hotel was very busy with tours but surprisingly very quiet along the corridors and no noise in the room. The location was excellent, staff were very helpful, breakfast was 'different' tailored for everyone and very good but so busy at times with the tours.
We paid £136 night for a twin room, and breakfast included and took the insurance price to cancel if necessary. The room rate whilst we were there rose daily and was £349 on the day we left. Much too high a price for what you get. I am glad we booked months ahead and got a decent price via Booking.com

Breakfast was exceptionally busy and difficult to even get a seat, despite this they didn't run out of anything and tables cleared quickly from dishes. The hotel needs a bigger breakfast area, it was chaos. Quality of food excellent.
Room price of £160 for a small compact room, not good value for money. The hotel was very very busy so why wouldn't they charge that for a room worth £90 max, which is what it is mid week. Its sn excellent hotel snd rooms are modern and clean snd everything you would want but at that price i wont be back at weekends. Just me, not the hotels fault !!!!

The location of the hotel is just great! It takes 40 mins by tram directly from the airport, and the tram stop is just in front of the hotel. A convenient location for walks to nearby Colton Hill, 5 mins walk to bus station and 10 mins to city centre. A Tesco Express supermarket is nearby. Requested a quiet room as I'm a light sleeper, and we've got one facing behind the hotel. It was quiet, only the room doors closed noisily. It was clean, and the mattress was like heaven. Very comfy. Breakfast was an average bufet, not so tasty, but I really appreciated the soy milk and gluten free bread as I'm on gluten and lactose diet. The personel was mostly forthcoming, always present at the reception desk.

Location was fantastic, Edinburgh is not a big city, nevertheless this hotel is the perfect position to see the city, being less than 10 minutes walk from Princess street and therefore connects you with so much of the top places to see in the city. The room was very nice and comfortable and again exactly what we hoped for, but would recommend keeping an eye on the prices, the mid-week pricing we took advantage of (via booking.com) was fantastic but it rises dramatically for the weekend if you book directly with the hotel. Breakfast was manic to say the least !!!! (see below)
When you arrive they give you a note with a traffic light system on it advising when the best time to go down for breakfast, this is to be heeded carefully as there is only one breakfast area for the whole hotel customers and after 7.30am its a free for all and can be hard to find somewhere to sit. The food and choice is excellent, very good indeed but its all crammed into one area and makes it very busy indeed. This isn't a problem but be prepared for how busy it gets.
