The location is unbeatable - in the Gion district. Perfect for an early morning or evening stroll to enjoy the special atmosphere. The room is super comfortable and very clean - with everything you need for a great stay. There are lots of little details that make all the difference. In addition, the hotel offers a number of very useful and relevant recommendations for restaurants, activities and shopping. But I'd particularly like to mention the service-mindedness of the hotel staff - they were so welcoming and attentive. A special mention for Michi - she's super great!
Everything was perfect!

Thankyou to everyone at Miru Kyoto Gion for our memorable stay in beautiful Kyoto/Gion. The staff were lovely and very helpful, the facilities and rooms were very clean and well appointed. The hotel itself is in an amazing location - well connected to train stations if required and also a short walk from a number of attractions such as Gion, Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka, Kiyomizu-dera, Nishiki Market, Pontocho Alley just to name a few! The tablet in the room provides so much helpful information, including restaurant recommendations. We also found the Instagram page useful for restaurant recommendations (breakfast at Kacto was amazing). There is also a washing machine/dryer for guests to use free of charge. The hotel offers a complimentary croissant breakfast to all guests.

It is perfect for solo traveller. They have option for single bed room. Inside the room, there is also microwave and Nespresso machine. Space is relatively more cause only need to put a single sized bed. Cleanliness inside room and within hotel excellent too. Receptionists were all very kind and helpful. Every morning they serve croissant and coffee in the reception as complementary. Location is perfect, less than 5 mins walk from gion-Shijo station and about 5-7 mins walk to Sanjo Keihan station (depending on which entrance you take). Walking distance to many tourist spots. Very convenient.
Shower head water heater was not very stable. Fluctuates hot to cold water.

Our experience at Miru Kyoto Gion was simply excellent. The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful, going above and beyond to assist us—even booking a sushi restaurant for us one evening, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. The room was spotless, spacious enough, and had a beautifully traditional feel, making our stay both comfortable and immersive. The hotel's location in the heart of Gion was perfect, allowing us to easily explore the area and soak in its unique atmosphere. Overall, Miru Kyoto Gion provided a fantastic stay with outstanding service, a prime location, and a truly authentic Kyoto experience. We would definitely return!
The only downside was the breakfast, which consisted solely of croissants. Given the limited space available for dining, it would be great if the hotel could arrange an agreement with a nearby café or restaurant to offer a more complete breakfast experience for guests.

Great location in Gion in between the Gion Shijo and Sanjo Keihan stations, with most of the temples and shrines in Higashiyama within walking distance and maybe a 10 minute walk across the Kamo River to reach Pontocho Alley and the big city amenities on Kawarimachi-dori. The hotel is bright and clean with great amenities in a spacious room. We loved the friendly and attentive staff, especially Ting and Sonu. The coffee and croissant in the mornings were delicious and much appreciated to start the day.
If traveling with families, the area is perhaps not as suitable at night because it the area is full of bars.

It was lovely to have high quality croissants and coffee for breakfast. Maybe some fruit would have been a nice additional touch? We loved the personal contact with the staff. On tablet with information was great and it had useful restaurant information however if we asked reception for restaurant recommendations all they did was point us to the ones on the "app" and ask us to choose one. They should participate in some family in local establishments so that they can make good recommendations. All the staff were friendly and warm and most have excellent to good English. We particularly appreciated that use of the laundry was complimentary. Our room size was fabulous but we did have the largest room available. For a lengthy stay this made things really comfortable.
The idea of the evening drinks was nice however there wasn't really anything we liked to drink. White wine never seemed to be available the the red wine was not really ro my taste. I ended up buying wine from the great wine shop over the road and having an evening drink in our room which meant we missed the convivial atmosphere. There was a weird situation where we had to be out of our room one day for an hour for "deep cleaning". We weren't in any way compensated for the fact that we have to be gone by that time; and no one really explained what "deep cleaning" was - we were told something about a spray and the effect of these chemicals on my possessions and to be breathing them worried me.

Details - I like the fact that the room was equipped with an oven that allows patrons to have their cold food heated up. I came during winter in Feb 24 and I reached the hotel late at night with my cold bento. It was lovely to just see an oven in my room. The room was also equipped with a rag that has a warm rod where it warms up your hung clothes ensuring you put on warm clothes in this winter. Also, the air purifier is switched on 24/7 for you and the water is changed by the hotel staff during room service. Unlike some hotels, to switch on the purifier, I will have to also maintained it on my own. Overall, out of the 3 hotels I stayed in Japan for 2 weeks, this hotel definitely left me with great impression in terms of the consideration taken to a patron's needs. The room was superbly clean especially the carpet, I did not spot dust at corners that was hard to reach. Toilet was neatly designed with the shower room separated from the dry area. Location - Walking distance to subways and the central. You can also walk to Yasaka Shrine =) Food - There is a tablet in the room that has recommendations to delicious food nearby and I tried this place that is about 300m walk to have really good Gyoza, ginger soup, potato salad and rice. I went there on a winter, rainy night and it was so good to have this meal.
Breakfast could have a variety and milk with tea as I don't take coffee.

The room is clean and the mattress is comfortable, not too hard and not too soft. The bathroom facility is both modern and clean. The location is close to everywhere (with lots of great restaurants nearby) but on the quiet street, plus it is close to the river. The front desk staffs are all very nice and helpful. Special Thanks to Sonu who was kindly to lend me some cash for purchasing Temple tickets because my credit card didn't work at the ATM.

EVERYTHING! The location is brilliant - right in Gion. The room is large, spectacular and so well appointed. The shower is amazing and the bed so comfy. The staff could not be more helpful - so attentive and so friendly - and the complementary croissant and coffee to start the day was a lovely touch. It was my husband’s birthday and the hotel made it really special with an impromptu card and a small bottle of champagne. The hotel is small - only 10 rooms - making it so intimate. The hotel have a washer dryer onsite and were very helpful when we used it (3 times!).

Best hotel I have ever stayed in! My partner and I stayed here for a vacation we took in November. The staff was so kind and helpful, everyone spoke excellent English which was helpful for us as we did not speak Japanese. The room was huge and very clean. We loved having a bathtub to relax in after sightseeing. The croissants and coffee in the morning was wonderful! The staff really went above and beyond to help us and give recommendation, we even received a free upgrade!
