Room was small but more than adequate for our needs, only a couple of things that disappointed was, no breakfast although had booked as a bed and breakfast, and as we had travelled for a family funeral it would of been very appreciated. The small fridge in the room was a bonus, as have stopped at more expensive hotels and not had one in the room, as it was very hot it was hugely appreciated.

Although not a drinker myself, my hubby appreciates a can every now and again, and to be threatened with eviction and surcharges if you either ate or drank in the room, other than the tea and coffee provided.

It was super easy to get to the rail station and main shopping area from here, and the corner shop right next door was super convenient! The building felt very secure given there wasn't any on-site staff (save for the cleaner), the room was very comfortable and the facilities exceeded my expectations (fan, radiator and portable heater, hair dryer, mini fridge, access to airer on request, TV). Totally worth the price!

The only issues we stumbled across was the bedside lamp and small light over the bed both had blown out bulbs, and getting into the building when you first arrive can be troublesome. The phone service by the front door can be a bit spotty, and you have to call to get the code to get into both the building and your room. From there though you can just use your room key for both doors easy peasy!

The rooms were clean, with everything we needed for a short stay. The hotel is well positioned for York centre (we went in to walk around the walls, see the Minster etc.).

Parking should be absorbed in the room price rather than charged separately. Not the fault of the hotel at all, but there was some late night noise from people passing outside (situated on a main road) and from other residents. There is no reception and the hotel appears unstaffed, although there is a 24hour help line which we used to get the entry codes.

Staff I spoke to were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and tidy, and there was adequate tea and coffee making facilities , any questions or problems were answered with a quick phone call, close to the city centre and shops nearby very handy

Paying for parking in a place where you are actually staying at seemed a bit much, but nothing to do if that's the policy, we were told of this prior to arrival, Fan in the room wasn't working and I had phoned ahead to ask about a fan , so had to sleep with window open and outside noise

Everything was provided as stated in the offer. The room wasn't vary spacious, but there was enough space for everything. There were no problems with air circulation, noise and curtains were working properly.

The room needs better cleaning. We found some leftovers from the previous guests in the fridge. It wasn't terribly dirty, but we had to clean in ourselves anyway. There was an empty juice carton behind the bed and some unpacked biscuits behind the cupboard, which is not that bad. The worst finding was an old cigarette under the shower. Event though the smoking is prohibited, the cigarette was there and it smelled bad before we turned on the ventilation.

The location is fantastic for the Xmas market, easy walk in to York, I was a little worried about going to a unattended guest house but I called as soon as we got there and was told the code for the doors and my room, Katie was lovely and gave me some good tips on where to have breakfast. The room was clean and had everything I needed, on the Saturday I tried to get parked in York but failed so even though I had checked out, I rang them for advice and the man gave me brilliant advice on where to go. They couldn't have been more helpful, it really made a difference.I will definitely stay the again. Thanks guys.

Could have done with a hook on shower room door to hang my clothes up. And a bit warmer quilt for this time of year in the attic room. I did use the extra throw from the wardrobe.

Both of us really liked the room and how it had everything we needed. Bed were comfy and clean.

I think the shower and curtains were the only things we didn't like as much. The only suggestions we have would be a warmer shower, and black out curtains or darker ones. With being close to the hospital there's lots of flashing lights. With the current curtains the light comes into the room very easily. So blackout curtains are our biggest suggestion.

The room was spacious, clean and well presented with the provision of additional items such as kettle, a heater and electric fan. Bathroom toiletries provided. Location is very convenient to small local shops and for access to buses to City centre.

Unusually, apart from speaking to someone by phone on arrival I did not see or speak with any members of staff during my stay - not that that was an inconvenience. The room had shutters but no effective means of cutting out the street lighting. Consequence was a non-dark room at night. Traffic noise was low but constant with busy road nearby. Small points: no clothing hooks in bathroom; cheap single ply toilet paper.

So close to the city centre perfect for people who are looking to see this beautiful city and it’s historic history and a lot of passion goes in to maintain these property’s as I have stayed at each one in The york area in the past 10years and every time has well been a pleasant experience and pleasure (BEST IN YORK) for your money and value

The room was comfortable, clean and with enough space por two people. You can prepare a coffee if you like.

They asked several times for the arrival time and when you arrive they did not say in advance that there are no reception, so you have to wait trying to guess who could help you to do the check in. There were also some people shouting in front of the main door several times.
