Location was much better than I had thought - quiet and easy walk to the old town; walking distances to a lot restaurants. Rooms are bigger than usual hotels; bar was nice and has a good menu for light meals which we enjoyed in the first night. Swimming pool was also a nice plus. Would stay here again next time we visit Durham.

There was a fire alarm at mid-night in one of the nights we stayed. All guests were waken up by the alarm and evacuated. We were told later that this was a false alarm but no more information was offered. This was a bit unfortunate and hopefully doesn’t happen very often.

Hotel in great location on the river , nice view. All Staff were excellent, cleaners , bar/ restaurant , reception and managers were welcoming and efficient. Took time to speak and made us feel welcome. All main areas of the hotel ( reception, restaurant and bar)were well kept and had a lovely appearance and atmosphere.

The only thing I would say is the room we stayed in wasn’t upto the usual radisson high standard of other radisson hotels we have stayed in. The sofa bed was frayed and torn on the seat cushion , in shower it had black mildew/ mould along the bottom of the wall and the bathroom sink had a few small cracks in it .

I can't fault the staff, all were friendly and helpful and working efficiently. We had a couple of requests (extra blanket, softer pillows) which were quickly accommodated. Staff were also very attentive in the restaurant during dinner. There was a little Easter egg for my daughter in the room, which was a lovely touch. The room was very comfortable, the windows also seem to stop quite a bit of the noise; it was the best sleep we had in a hotel so far (we don't sleep that great away from home so that's saying something). I personally really enjoyed the selection of teas in the room, while my daughter loved the water and ice station that's located on each floor. Breakfast was fantastic! I almost wanted to sample one of each of their offerings but I can't eat that much. And the staff worked tirelessly at replenishing the buffet as needed.

Needs more plugs next to the bed, there is only one available and the dinner menu could do with a little bit more variety.

We had a little 2 night break at the Raddison blu for my partners' birthday. This was our first experience staying here, and it was a lovely short break Once we arrived, my partner said she felt like she was dreaming. The location is great for local amenities, river walks, and a national trust site. The facilities such as the sauna, steam room, and pool are a great way to unwind and escape every day. We enjoyed the breakfast at the on-site restaurant, which was included for what we paid, and although we didn't have a meal on-site, the menu was very tempting. However, we decided to head out for our evening meals and explore the city at night. The staff were friendly and pleasant throughout our stay. We would return again and hope to do so.

We were on level 1 looking out across the river. We were above the bar and on Friday night the noise was very loud until after 1am as guest sitting outside below our room. We were also near the lift and guests were very loud returning to there rooms right up to 2.30am. Our room had a few issues which need looking at prior to further guests staying in the room. One of the 2 Sockets on dressing table would not allow a plug. Reading light near to window needs new bulb and bathroom door handle needs looking at as the door would not stay shut unless you slammed it which is not good for rooms near by and very slack.

Fabulous location, just a short walk along the river into town. Our room was a good size, clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. As a guest, you have complimentary access to the spa, which had a reasonable sized pool, jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna. There is also a well equipped gym The breakfast buffet is extensive, with a wide range of options available. The staff, particularly in the resautarant, were friendly, kind and helpful. There is ample parking on site.

In common with most hotels, there was a nice range of coffee sachets and tea bags in the room, but not enough milk cartons for us, and sadly, no biscuits

We were given a super clean and comfortable room with a river view which was a bonus. The staff everywhere were unobtrusive but there when you needed them. It allowed a great sense of privacy and anonymity which we enjoyed. The breakfast was fantastic, you would be hard pushed to want anything extra or a deviation of choice. Access to the centre of Durham was perfect with every point of interest within walking distance, even a National Trust garden 5 minutes walk away. We travelled by train and the station was within walking distance. Overall a very enjoyable break.

We didn’t like the construction work although we understand it’s necessary, however, we were unable to use the main bar at all and also the spa facilities without going outside the building. The last day we had the work noise and a drumming band competing with each other……who on earth authorised that!

Stayed here numerous times now, it's my first choice as it always goes above and beyond. Parking is easy, check in smooth and welcoming. Rooms and suites are simply superb, compared to other hotels in Durham ive stayed in that are tired. Food, breakfast and room service are all excellent. The pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi are spotlessly clean and maintained. This hotel is perfect for location and perfect from It's staff to facilities.

Trying to book a treatment/massage in the spa, months in advance of staying and no availability is disheartening. Especially staying there.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, lovely big room with a very comfortable bed and very nice views to the front and the river from the room we had. The bar and lounge area was very comfortable and the whole hotel was super clean. Gym was large and well-equipped although we did not use it during our 1-night stay.

The pool, sauna and steam room were nice although drainage required in the sauna, and the pool and jacuzzi were constantly full in both the evening and morning, possibly due to fact that the facilities are also accessible for non-hotel clients. However everything was clean and appeared to be well taken care of.

The staff were lovely and accommodating. There was a slight mix-up with our room and the front of house staff were extremely efficient about sorting it out. Two members of staff at Reception, in particular, were superb above and beyond: thank you Lauren; thank you Lisa! Our young lads loved the pool and so did we (and the sauna). The breakfast was unquestionably one of the best we've had at a hotel: buffet and/or from the menu. The hotel's location in Durham means that everything the city has to offer is within reach. The city bus circular stops outside for cathedral visits. I can't wait to return.

It was above what we would normally wish to pay for a hotel (perhaps because our booking was during the festive season). Yet, it was well worth it and we would not hesitate to revisit. I would like to return.
