We reserved from this Onsen hotel a traditional Japanese room for 10 days as our base for backcountry and freeriding skiing at the Niseko region and found it a good choice and good value for money. We had a rental car so we could easily get around and a car is recommended. There is a shuttle bus service though. It was just a few minutes drive to Annupuri gondola, 20 min to Hirafu Ace gondola parking lot, one hour to Rusutsu, 70 min to Kiroro. Plenty of backcountry skiing mountain peaks very near such as Chisenupuri. Lots of restaurants within short driving distance. The breakfast is good and available from 7 am. After skiing the Onsen is the most perfect place to relax after a hard day, and is so good that even Japanese guests visit there. With room service you get traditional clean Kimono every day and towels for the Onsen. The staff is most helpful and polite.
You can have a dinner at the hotel but we did not find that to be of good value, so we mostly had dinner at restaurants in the area. Parking at front of hotel is sometimes crowded and tight. We loved the genuine Japanese experience; but that might not suit everyone. The age of the old hotel shows, but we found that charming, while some might find it old and tiered. The hotel is very well maintained and clean though.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Niseko Grand Hotel. Our group of 3 stayed in one of the traditional tatami rooms and I personally loved the futons and thought they were quite comfortable. Please be aware that the bathroom in the room is quite small, so a group with more than 3 people might want to spring for a bigger room. All of our interactions with the staff were super friendly and the hotel itself was super nice and quaint. The Onsen at the hotel was also AMAZING and was the perfect treatment for our after-skiing aches and pains. We were also pretty impressed with the restaurant at the hotel, both for breakfast and dinner. The staff at the restaurant were some of the nicest people we met while in Japan and the food was pretty great (especially when compared to the overpriced, underwhelming options available elsewhere in Niseko). We really enjoyed our stay here and will certainly be back if we find ourselves in Niseko again.
The ceiling in the bathroom was quite short, but that is pretty normal for anyone over 6 feet tall in Japan.

Great Hotel. Really nice and loved having the onsen at the hotel! The staff is AMAZING and SUPER HELPFUL! The breakfast we had was good and the room was nice and cozy. 10/10 would stay here again. We also loved the mixed gender onsen since it was our honeymoon!
the only reason I didn't give it a 10 rating was the wifi was slow at times but we weren't in the room much so it wasn't really a big deal. We also had wifi through the pocket wifi device which was great if we really needed wifi for something.

I love the whole hotel. The western rooms are very newly renovated. The 24 hour Onsen is perfect.. with snowflakes falling on you when soaking in the hot steamy onsen. breakfast is yummy, love the chocolate croissants. There's in-house vending machines and souvenir shops. Price is good for winter rates. Hotel provide direct rental for Ski gear too and can store the gears overnight at their locker rooms.
Hope they can renovate the Japanese rooms and locker rooms as I hope to try jap rooms next time. Hope they allow late checkout to 11am-12pm

Breakfast buffet was very good mostly Japanese food with a few Western touches. Dinner buffet was similar offering. Both convenient and great quality and variety. On site onsen for women, men and mixed was a terrific way to finish a skiing day. Staff were helpful ++. Rooms were good. Close to the slopes. Loved the vibe. Felt like I was in Japan, not another hotel for Westerners. Everything worked with ski room and bus to the slopes and shop for treats.

We stayed here for a family ski trip and it was great. The staff were always professional and accomodating, buffet breakfast and dinner (we had dinner in the hotel twice) was great, and the shuttle bus to the various resorts was convenient. Email communication to answer questions before our stay was excellent and booking a shuttle to get us to and from Niseko station was fairly easy. The on site onsen is a bonus but can be a it crowded at times (peak ski season so it was somewhat expected). Oh and the rooms were great and there are washing machines and dryers on site which were cheap and easy to use.

The place was clean, the service was great and the location was convenient to get to several ski resorts. The outdoor mixed gender onsen was a nice romantic way to spend time with my wife. Not many places in Japan offer this experience, so it is a must try experience. As we booked our accommodation late, we had to make 2 separate bookings to ensure we can stay there through out our trip. The staff were very nice to make sure we have 1 room to stay in for the whole trip instead of 2 rooms (which would have required us to pack and unpack again).
The shower in our room is very small and this might be due to space constraint issues. Nonetheless, the onsen is conveniently located and is big, so we showered there everyday.

Onsen in the hotel was a god send to relax the body after skiing. Food (breakfast and dinner buffet) was good, but always the same. The bus service to the gondolas was really helpful. The driver was extremely kind and doing his best to help every guest, amazing service. The renovated Western style rooms were great. The value in contrast to Hirafu was really good.
The longer you stay, you will notice how limited your food options are. Their buffet was decent and the tasting menu was nice, but eating them more than twice make you wishing you had a car to visit more places to eat. The bus schedule was not too intuitive and in sync with the gondola closure in moiba. Avoid the dated not renovated rooms, some even don't have a proper window.

Great Japanese style room, lots of fun. Onsen is large & outside one was lovey in the snow. The highlight of the stay was the food / dinner was exceptional - got our own neat & seafood to steam & 3 trays of phenomenal small plates to go with it. Breakfast was equally good with fresh fruit & Japanese & western options. Do select the half board 😊!
Public areas were a little worn & an linden towel would have been appreciated
