the property had such a lovely, traditional house aesthetic which felt very cosy and comfortable yet the facilities were modern and kept clean. the dormitories are quite tight in space however this is more than made up for the fact that the bed space is very big, and you have a little desk, mirror and storage space in the bunk so it feels like a little room rather than just a bed. the staff are very welcoming - the stairs to the upstairs rooms are very steep and narrow and i had large luggage and the lady who checked me in helped me carry it up! the co-working space is also very nice and clean - it is stocked with free tea, coffee and sugar as well as space heated and heated blankets we could use (which were much needed because of the winter chill). its in a very central location, just a ten minute walk from gojo station which takes you to kyoto station, and a two minute walk to kiyomizu-gojo station which takes you to gion and fushimi inari! theres also a little collection of shrines nearby which are a nice small visit. i definitely recommend coming to this place, it is such a gem!

while i was there one of the washing machines was broken, which meant that everyone staying there was sharing one washing machine. it would have been nice if it had been fixed quickly or replaced, but not a huge issue!

Cozy, modern, looks like the pictures! Capsules are spacious. Kitchen clean and well equipped! Very good internet and calm and pleasant co working space. Close to many useful bus stops, and a walk away from many good tourist attractions. Placed in a pleasant and calm street, with a river close to it.

I wish the co working space had more options for relaxation. A couple of comfortable chairs or a couch with a backrest would've been really nice after a long day when you just want to relax.

The beds were comfortable, and it was peaceful. Bathrooms were clean and maintained well. The building is a little old and corridors narrow. Downside is that the building has no elevator so be ready to carry the luggage up one set of stairs. The place to keep luggage was congested - you would end up blocking other people's movement if you want to take stuff out of the bag. The location is very close to subway and accessible to the city. They have Yamato services and stored by luggage 2 days prior to my arrival.

The hostel was very nice. My room was spacious. Best of all, I've been to many hostels and had never had one with water pressure in the shower this good. I did use the laundry machine and the dryer didn't dry my clothes completely even after an hour, so I hung my clothes to dry in my room, but otherwise the place was great. The building is quite old but I think my neighbours were pretty quiet so I didn't have a hard time sleeping. No traffic sound coming into my room either.

The hostel is located on a small cozy street in a wooden building. It looks very authentic. On the ground floor is a common room with small kitchen. The space is very comfortable for work. Upstairs are the rooms with slided doors. Every pod is very big with spacious bed, long table/shelf, two sockets, light and side space for personal items. The shower has shampoo, conditioner and body shower. The basins are located in the corridor. The location is very close to Kyomizu Temple and historic streets, also close to Gion. For those who are interested, there are also public bath just 5 minutes away from hostel. The towels are for a fee but the umbrellas are free to rent. You can also buy other amenities at the desk.

It wasn’t very clean. The staff is cleaning constantly, the problem lies mostly on hostel guests, unfortunately not everyone is trying to keep it clean. And another discomfort was a huge column in front of the bed and because the space between beds are narrow, it was quite tricky to climb out of pod and around the column.

The sleeping area is spacious and the bed is comfortable! The bathroom and showers were always clean. The hostel is also nearby downtown and the river and I loved walking along the river when I go around the area. The staff were also kind enough to help me out when I asked for help wearing yukata.

I went during summer and airconditioning in the room was not the best, but also not that bad that you’ll lose sleep at night.

Absolutely amazing experience staying here! It’s a mix of convenience, comfort and traditional vibes in Japan! Bed was comfy and the room was just stunning, walls are thin but we had no issues at all with noise! Facilities were amazing it’s like modern meets traditional! It had a communal kitchen/sitting room area downstairs which was also brilliant! Would definitely stay again!!!

I loved staying here. Building has a lot of character but is clean and well-maintained. "Capsules" are huge compared to other places; if you are worried about staying in a capsule hotel because you are physically large, this is the place to try. I could physically stand up in mine, though I had an upper capsule and my head poked out of the ceiling. Co-working lounge is cool, plenty of space, and the kitchen is clean and well organized, stocked with whatever dishes you could need. I would consider living here if I could 😅

There is very little space to open your luggage. The only space is right in the entrance to the room, meaning you're in the way of anyone going in or out. I ended up taking everything I might need out of my luggage when I checked in and the room was empty, then didn't touch my luggage until I had to check out. There were also no lockers for storing valuables. This is a nitpick but there was a small gap between the bottom of my capsule and the wall. I was worried about accidentally dropping things down into the capsule below. Please seal that up!

I loved the beds very spacious and there is a little table built into the space that you can use which is amazing. The downstairs area was really cozy and there are tons of restaurants and places to eat nearby. There is even a grocery store around the corner for those who need it. Highly recommend!

Close to kawaramachi which is the main hub of the city. Amenities such as convenience store and a supermarket close by. Very dark at night which made sleeping easy.

Bit tight for space within the bunk bed area - there wasn’t a lot of space/place for luggage storage. Might be hard for those carrying a big luggage.
