The rooms were extremely clean and big. Lovely size of the rooms. We were very impressed by MOC LAKMALI, the managers service was so lovely and welcoming. We also loved the shower

The breakfast could have been bigger and more selections. It was very small and limited.

It's a modern hotel with nice facility, my most fave one is its location which is strategically located near the shopping street and it''s also located close to subway (Tozai line, directly at the end of the shopping street with elevator - which is really helpful as we're traveling with a big luggage) and bus stop Kyoto City Hall, plus if you need to send you luggage to other cities/airport, there is Yamato office next to the hotel.

Very clean and the room was nice and big. The staff were very nice and the check in and check out process was easy. The washing machines, dryers, and microwave were conveniently located. Excellent location, close to both sanjo train Station and karasuma oike station, also right next to nishiki Market.

The free breakfast was a little boring. It always consisted of two bread rolls, a cup of soup, a small salad cup, a drink, and an egg. It was served in a small basket, all in plastic containers and came with plastic cutlery. Initially the egg options were onsen egg or chawanmushi, but by the third day the only option was boiled eggs. Was a little disappointed but it was free so...

This is my second time staying at this hotel for 5 nights. I am a neurodiverse (autistic) person who is sensitive to noise and heat. I really love this place. It's a very convenient location in central Kyoto, allowing you to walk to many places and has easy access to train stations so you can take day trips to various places as well. The hotel itself is modern and clean, with little noise issues from other rooms. It's also quite well isolated from the main streets os you don't hear anything from outside. You can control the temperature of the rooms whether it's aircon in winter or heating in summer which is great. And the beds and comfortable, with plenty of room inside the room itself. Much bigger than other properties in Kyoto. The shower is fantastic as well, love the various features you can play around with it as well. You can open the window to let in some air, and the other facilities there are good such as the washing machines. I travelled with a friend who is disabled (in a wheelchair) and they also found it quite accommodating. The main challenges they faced were that the curb outside hotel is slightly raised, and that the ramps inside to get in to lobby were not as sloped as they could be, but still manageable.

The staff don't have great English, so it can be difficult to communicate sometimes and get the information you need. I was given the advice to "just google it" for instance when requesting some information as they couldn't specifically figure out what I wanted.amd how to communicate back with me. The breakfast is a little small, but given its free I don't mind. Nice way to start the day off.

This location is one you can’t beat! It’s right near by stations and Nishiki Market! Food options are right on your door step, shops and lively crowds. The hotel itself is on the more modern side, the rooms are slightly bigger than most Japan rooms. The shower was incredible! Really enjoyed this stay.

The breakfast is a set that you cannot change unless you pay to have additional changes made. It’s not a big breakfast, one drink, two bread rolls, a small salad, soup and an egg! So be prepared to feed yourself somewhere else post breakfast as well :)

Location cannot be beat. Near Nishiki Market, Teramachi Street, Kyoto History Museum, a subway stop, train line, and an easy walk to several main streets where buses can be caught. Staff very helpful for all manner of needs and requests. My room was larger than I expected and was cleverly designed. Comfortable bed, cool (as in groovy) shower room, quiet at night. The neighborhood is chock full of restaurants and specialty shops, including lots of vintage clothing spots. A Black Cat luggage transportation service is next door which means sending your luggage on to your next destination is easy peasy and highly recommended.

I was completely satisfied with my stay at the Prince Smart Inn.

Easy check-in and check-out, snug room larger than I expected, daily cleaning and change of towels, great shower with good water pressure, quiet at night, and well located for exploring the city. Very responsive staff. I liked it so much I extended my stay there. Located on narrow street, with modest daytime traffic. Interesting neighborhood worth exploring. Around the corner from Teramachi Street and only a few blocks from Nishiki Market. Black Cat luggage transport next door. Do yourself a favor and send your suitcase ahead rather than drag it through trains, train stations, and airports.

The rooms are modern with a smart TV that can connect to streaming services (on your own account), wifi is fast, lots of power sockets and USB sockets for charging devices. The toilet is a separate room from the shower. The shower was ultra modern with full body jets! We arrived before check in and happy to find they have luggage storage. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk from Shinkyogoku shopping street which connects to Nishiki market for great street food.

The room didn’t have clothes storage units but did have a few hangers on hooks on the wall. The breakfast was a set meal with only the drink as an option (2 types of bread, usually a croissant and a bread bun, a cold boiled egg, some potato salad and a hot soup), I was okay with the meal but my partner did not like any elements so did not use the service.

Loved the location!! Great price for the area! That was really the biggest selling point! It's a perfect hotel for the price and proximity to activities. The space was clean and they had a nice and convenient free breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful. They had lockers to store our bags when we arrived early for check-in.

The bed and pillow weren't as comfortable as other places we stayed. They also had the bathroom area separated by a curtain which was a little weird. The shower and toilet had doors on them, but the sink area was with the rest of the room. Would have been totally fine but it just didn't allow for much privacy from the person you are traveling with if that's something you are looking for. Would have also been nice to have had coffee and a kettle in the room like we had in many other hotels in Japan.

Hotel was great, very clean and the staff was wonderful. It’s a very quiet area just a block or so from all the main action of Teramachi st, which was very convenient! The bed and pillows were very comfortable, it had in-unit AC/heat, the shower was amazing, and the room was spacious. I also liked how they had an AI assistant in each room that could help you with local info or hotel info. The TV had live updates laundry info so you could see when the washers were available or in use - very handy! I noticed they didn’t have some of the more common amenities you could pick up before heading to your room, like face wash/lotion, toner, body lotion, razor, etc, but that’s fine. They also didn’t have a fabric refresher spray which I was a little disappointed in as I like to use those in case I come back smelling like any of the delicious food around, but again, a small issue. All in all a wonderful hotel, I would definitely stay again.
