The staff were very friendly helpful and welcoming. The room was warm and comfortable and the bed was comfortable. The facilities are as good as the 'big named' innsand suffer from the same issue of too litle furniture for comfort. One always has to break their back sitting on the bed. The surprise was the free breakfats which was a full english and was excellent. I had enough bacon and toast for a toasted bacon sandwich at lunchtime. Brilliant. Finally, there is free parking at the back of the hotel.

Apart from the current stupid 20 MPH speed limit, to often in the wrong places, which is nothing to do with the hotel. The hotel was just what we needed so apart from the common lack of chairs in the room we have no issues to report.

Welcoming staff. The hotelier accidentally overcharged me by a few pounds (I didn't notice) and he pointed it out and refunded the amount immediately. I would have been none the wiser if he had said nothing! We were made to feel welcome and got the impression that nothing would be too much trouble for them. The bar was pleasant and the drinks were a reasonable price. The room had everything we could want. The breakfast was very good and all exceptional value for money. Hotel was in a perfect location to stroll into Monmouth.

I would have liked a blind on the bathroom window. It did have frosted glass, but when the light is on people outside can see in.

The location was good for us with it being in the centre of Monmouth. After having had a long drive, it was nice to have a wander round the town centre in the evening. Plus, the staff were all very helpful. I requested gluten free toast at breakfast, and it was available, which was appreciated. The cost of the room and breakfast was very good value. The hotel has a lot of character due to the age of the building.

Room 9 was very hot due to the towel rail in the ensuite bathroom being permanently on. It was very hot and could not be turned off or adjusted. As a result we opened the windows, but that meant we were disturbed by the passing traffic as our room was roadside. If we stay there again, I'll request a room on the opposite side of the building.

Well after reading negative reviews about ot been shabby and staff were rude I think that those guests were at a different hotel to us we found it welcoming from the minute we arrived at reception to the room was exceptional and clean comfortable and when we go back we will be requesting the same room it was a gift off my husband for valentines and the hotel was in a prime location to the town and there was a bar in the hotel which I have to add the manager did above and beyond to make our stay fantastic the breakfast was exceptional for the price so a massive thsnkyou to the manager staff and the lovely hotel we stayed at so thankyoh x

Close to the town centre and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were able to check in earlier than expected. Nice friendly atmosphere in the bar area. The room had everything we needed and beds were comfortable and the shower was powerful. Breakfast was decent but no fruit or pastries.

As it was on the main road, the noise from the traffic woke us early in the morning. The bathroom was a little bit small. The TV didn't have a very good signal and only had a few channels.

Location ideal near old bridge attraction lovely river walks, Chippenham park and market town but if poor mobility street would be a struggle, room ideal for us oldies, breakfast the team were more than happy to adjust menu, hotel room very reasonable priced for facilities, if you want more than a budget hotel may not suit but we were more than happy with friendliness of staff and facilities very welcoming.

For our choice it suited us but everyone has their own opinions you pay for what you get!

Really clean establishment and all of the staff were helpful and pleasant, especially with my son. Electric charging for my car was simple and easy.

Parking is tight if the hotel is busy, but staff were aiding with parking logistics. The hotel is basic but was exactly what my son and I wanted from an adventure weekend hotel booking( just somewhere to sleep that was reasonably priced) The water temperature fluctuates when other guests use the water at the same time, fine for an adult but would say it's a hazard for younger children.

More storage space ie draws and hangers would be good but made do just an observation only dislike and was not hotel fault work men starting work at 0700hrs out front so next time there will book a room to rear if possible

Staff were really friendly, huge bedroom and bathroom. Very comfortable. Private car park. Amazing location for exploring Monmouth. Bar downstairs is great if you want a drink or to watch sports.

Only downside was our room was right at the top of the stairs and bed was against the inside wall so we could hear everyone walking up and down the corridor quite early in the morning. Perhaps the bed could be moved against a different wall... wouldn't be a problem if you go to bed late and wake up early but we were attempting to sleep in which was a bit tricky.

Abby was fantastic, she gave me a little breakfast bag to take away since i was checking out early and would have missed breakfast. Also brought a portable heater to my room as i felt cold. Very friendly and helpful. I felt very safe and comfortable at the inn I also really enjoyed the christmas one man band on christmas eve in the bar in the evening, very festive. My room was clean and roomy, the bathroom was a very good size with little bottles of bodywash and shampoo provided, bathroom and the bedroom were very clean, bed comfortable. Powerful shower with plenty of hot water

Was initially checked into a room that hadnt been clean by the housekeeper, this was sorted out very quickly by Abby and she promptly gave me a different room
