The location is amazing and it was easy for me to reach my work areas. The rooms were clean.
The hotel needs to be modernised when compared to their neighbours. The hotel needs to be cleaned outside to maintain its beautiful facade. The centralised fan has some issues and doesn’t maintain a cooled room. Experienced some days where the room temperature was 29degrees!! The wardrobe needs to be bigger for people travelling with larger luggages. I noticed that the staff are inconsistent with their “upgrade” offers. I was given the option for an upgrade (at a cost), but I overheard other travellers being offered upgrades (for free).

The room was more than adequate for our needs. Nice view of Canary Wharf. Location was superb as we were attending an event at the 02 which is 1 tube stop away or 15 min taxi if you want a door to door service. Is the hotel generally a little bit tired in areas, yes, however the cost of rooms here is less than most of the country let alone premium London so all this gets factored in, hence this is our 4th stop in 2 years and we have never once complained. Rooms are big enough, air con works. Cappuccino from the bar was good. Service was fine at reception on check in, topping up coffee/tea etc... and fresh towels.
The only minor drawback I feel the mattresses are a little uncomfortable, however... I am realistic in that what we paid for our room stay and in line with London prices we received overall excellent value for money.

-Comfortable stay -Nice view from my room
-Hairs on the bed -First night I wasn’t able to sleep properly because there was a loud noise I can hear in my room, at first I thought it was from outside or from the control rooms. The next morning when I woke up and went to the toilet I realised that annoying noise was from the exhaust of the bathroom which there is a separate switch. I think it was because the hotel is old so the exhaust noise is so loud from maybe how it was made before. But I’m wishing I knew it on my first night, could’ve had a good night sleep on my first night. ☹️

For the price I paid, I was expecting a "you get what you pay for hotel" literally half the price of other hotels in Canary Wharf. So needless to say, I wasn't expecting much. But what I got far out weighed the price, very friendly staff, great customer care, great location and pretty much all the mod cons. Bedroom was clean and tidy, as you'd expect, the bathroom had more toiletries than I expected. A complimentary shower cap? Never had one of those in a hotel and I'd just so happen to forget my one. It's the little things.
Not the hotels fault at all, but there is construction work across the road. Couldn't hear a thing though and I slept like a log.

The hotel is walking distance to the heart of Canary Wharf, which has lots of restaurants, supermarkets and transportation links. It's a nice hotel, quite charming with lovely decor and nice seating areas at the ground level. Some minor inconveniences in our stay, but overall good value for money if you want to stay at Canary Wharf.
We found it a bit strange that housekeeping doesn't automatically clean the rooms unless you ask for it specifically. It didn't bother us too much, but a minor inconvenience to have to ask them to clean the trash bins and replenish the toiletries, especially as had a long stay. The other main issue was that we couldn't modify the heating in our room (we attempted regulating the heating a couple of times), so the room was quite hot at night.

A great place to stay if you're looking for a convenient location next to the waterside. It is around the corner from the jubilee line and a short 15 min walk to the Elizabeth line through the indoor shops/ cafe complex. Next to the hotel is also the DLR line. Suitcases, they do have a reception room where you can leave your cases inside with a ticket on collection. But this does get used a lot with guests, so bare this in mind if there is room. There are lots of cafes, bars, shops and Tesco across the road down the alley if you want snacks or something to eat. Britannia hotel is like your classic, old, traditional style hotel, with antique style cupboards and chandeliers on the ceiling. It is similar to wetherpsoons, if you're looking for a base and a cheaper place to stay. The twin room had nice firm mattresses (if your preference), it was clean and spacious. The best part was the shower had a very high pressure water system. Wifi was not good when using it as a guest. Basic amenities like shower gel, soap, body lotion, kettle with tea and coffee were in the room.
The room was quite humid. The air con wasn't great. But there was an electric fan to switch on, which did the job. If you can't sleep through a fan noise, I guess it's just tuff. The windows don't have an opening section either. In the room they are a bit stingy on the teas, milk and coffee sachets. And no biscuits. With inflation, it's kinda understandable these days. The staff didn't look very happy working there either. Overall, besides the negatives, I would stay here again due to the location and spacious room. And try out the breakfast next time.

Always love the location and the rooms are great value
Unlike our other stays the service was not the best this occasion. I booked the room for my partner and he was made to feel very unwelcome. On check in he was told he was unable to leave and re enter the hotel without showing his room key to security. We’ve never had to do this before and we enjoy our nightly walks whenever we stay. I’m not sure why this rule was implemented that night but it has put him off coming back as he feels targeted. Like I’ve stated we usually receive amazing service from the staff and I’ve recommended the hotel to anyone staying in the area. Just a shame he didn’t receive the same hospitality.

The room was so spacious, more than I expected and the it was super clean! The view from my window made the experience 10x times luxurious and the staff were lovely! I would recommend and would absolutely love to stay there again!
My payment was pending so I had to wait for 40mins before checking to my room and there was no way I could close the window by myself and it’s sometimes a drag to go downstairs and ask. It was a windy weekend so my bedroom was getting a little cold! Would be nice to have a handle to the window but beside these two, nothing else

The room was nice, very comfortable. I was given an upgrade to a room with a balcony with a water view, which was nice. Nice bar and restaurant area downstairs. Sampled a pasta dish as a takeaway and took it to my room to sit and eat on the balcony. Food was very tasty.
The room smelt a bit of stale smoke. Not really the fault of the hotel, rather a disrespectful past occupant who has not adhered to the rules of no smoking. Having been given a room with a balcony, I could open the door and air the room a bit. The bathroom could do with a bit of modernisation, not a fan of shower curtains.

After reading the reviews, we was all very sceptical about the stay, however, once we arrived and entering the hotel. Was a warm and welcoming atmosphere and feel to the hotel. The reception staff was amazing, so accommodating as we was 1 hour early to check in time, but our rooms was ready and we was asked if we wanted to be close together, so they moved us to be together. Fantastic. Without having to be asked. On entering the room, the room was clean and tidy, spotless to be exact. Yes some may moan about decor...but I wasn't there for the decor. I wanted a warm, clean room with a comfy bed to sleep on. This is what I got. The bar staff was lovely, yes the drinks could be classed as a little expensive, however this is London! The lounge was lovely with a fantastic view of th2le canary wharf. So overall, the hotel, is lovely, warm, welcoming and comfy, for £337 for 3 nights, we was very impressed!
