Location great for walks. Lovely looking hotel, nicely decorated and warm feeling. Good that u can take the dog. Food was nice at night but I didn't have the breakfast so can't comment on that.

The room was nice, however, all the added costs on top made it expensive for what you got. I paid £238 for a room for 2 nights. Just a standard room, nothing fancy. And it was small. No free spaces on the hotel car park so i had to park across the road, at £9 a day x 2 =£18. Added £30 extra on for the dog for 2 nights. Not a problem but ended up being very expensive for what it was... I was out for most of the day, walking & exploring the beautiful scenery. So £296 just for a bed for 2 nights sleep was expensive I thought. Walls were thin, could hear the people in the next room snoring at night!

Lack of parking. Food was tasty but overpriced and portion sizes were rather tight - especially for the price. Breakfast on Sunday was an 0830 start which is a bit late if you want to be out and about walking

Since we last stayed here the Hotel has undergone a major refurbishment. Our Superior Room with Lake View was stunning as was the en-suite and both spotlessly clean. The bed and general furnishings were all very good and very comfortable. Lots of coffee, tea and milk available in the room on arrival. Food and drink were of a very good standard and not over priced. Staff were friendly and generally seemed happy and met the changing demands of how busy they were with a smile. The public facilities were also in the main very well maintained and kept clean with tables etc cleaned after each use. Toilets were spotless in the public areas. There is a dog free zone for those who would prefer not to be surrounded by dogs.

I think if you are a Hotel Resident then you should be able to specify the table you wish to book for your evening meal over the foot traffic coming and going, a small concession for the cost of a nights stay ?

Fabulous place to stay! The location was amazing, the staff were all wonderful, the rooms were extremely comfortable (we had a family room). Our dog was very happy. We loved our stay, thank you for taking such good care of us!

We didn’t love the food but if I’m truly honest, we didn’t love it anywhere else either. I’ve read other reviews re: parking, we didn’t find it a problem. The impression is there are only 4 spaces which isn’t accurate. We only had to park over the road on our first night as we arrived quite late on a Saturday and really, it was a 2 minute walk so not an issue. The other 4 nights of our stay there was always room in the car park

Lake, restaurant and staff - special thanks to the member of restaurant staff who helped my wife prepare a surprise at breakfast. Restaurant decor and cleanliness was top class and the fact we could enjoy the food and have our dog right next to us was really nice. Great variety of breakfast choices and restaurant interior design with William Morris fabrics in tapestry added that extra bit to our experience.

It was our first experience with Inn Collection; we have picked that hotel to make our birthdays a little more special as both me and my wife were born on same month and day and I was turning 50. Despite special request made way in advance we didn't get the room with bigger windows on lake side so that we could enjoy the lake view. We got the view from a small bathroom window only so we're disappointed as the Ulswater lake means a lot to us. And the room was next to the lift so we had noises. I wouldn't mind but I mentioned my 50th birthday several times and still no effect...

Absolute stunning location with great views all round. Staff were constantly busy but polite and helpful. The room was perfect, clean, and comfortable with up to date decor and access to a balcony. Food was available to the public and residents. It was a little overpriced, but it was good. We had breakfast included. Unfortunately, I was unwell and unable to eat breakfast. My husband enjoyed his morning breakfast. I would definitely return.

If I was being piccy our slight disappointment was it suggested a lake view, which we paid extra for. This was rather disappointing as we overlooked the car park and we had to look for the lake, we found a partial view of the lake through an end window and outside on the balcony. Having a balcony was a plus for us, though.

Our room was huge, well furnished and comfortable with dual aspect which was a real treat as the views were beautiful. The bar and lounge area were also very comfortable warm and beautifully decorated.

Ensuite was very small, given how big the room was I don't understand why the tiny wee ensuite. Also, it was impossible to shower without soaking the floor as the shower screen was too small. There was no grab rails which I could have used with the wet floor. On arrival the member of staff at "reception" was rude, didn't even look up to greet us, didn't offer any sort of welcome. When I asked for directions he didn't even reply, he just pointed.

We chose this due to the fact it is a dog friendly establishment and found that this was further enhanced by the breakfast selection and the food quality which was excellent throughout the day. our en suit bedroom was both classy and comfortable. As for the location I think it would be difficult to find a better setting in regard to scenery and its location in regard to visiting all of the lake district landmarks with ease.

The only issue was the lack of free on site parking space for residents given the size of the building and although we were there at an off peak time the car park was always full so I would imagine it will be horrendous during the peak season. I overheard a conversation in a shop where residents of the town were talking about how traffic wardens target the town knowing parking is an issue and the fact they can make a fortune in fines with easy pickings from tourists

Nothing - we liked it here!

Room was a really good size, we had the family room. It had space for a small table and chairs so we were able to get a chippy tea and eat in the room. Big size bathroom with a really powerful shower. Own door leading out onto a patio area and a stones throw away from Ullswater where we were able to go for a swim.

The room felt quite cold. It was the 11th January and -2 outside so we wrapped up, but it just felt a bit cold and meant we had to get cosy to sleep. The upstairs neighbours also made quite a lot of noise quite late into the night and the sound travelled.
