Lots of attention to detail, excellent service. Great location.
Although decorated to a high standard and very opulent as a luxury boutique style hotel should be the lighting was way too dark for me - think Holister! Beds were comfy but frustrating they are built into the wall so annoying having to climb over your partner to get out. Lots of lovely touches with coffee machine and TV mirror etc.

Immediately in awe of how beautiful the bar was and also the hotel itself. Staff on entrance and at check in were so welcoming, polite and 'human'. We were given prosecco on entry whilst we checked in, and shown our room personally, it exceeded our expectations wholly. Each day as we have left the hotel, all staff have been kind and friendly, we have experienced room service and the breakfast hamper each morning was delightful! All food/cocktails were impeccable. Again, the staff have gone out of their way to ensure we were comfortable, happy and even took the time to ask us about our plans. We were there for a wedding, along with the bride and groom and the staff made us feel like royalty. All in all, it was luxurious, welcoming and a real 'home away from home' experience. Upon check out the lady on the desk offered to store our bags for the day if needed. We will be back! Thankyou, Room 211 xxx

This is very much a niche venue, but if it is your sort of thing, it's fabulous! The staff could not be kinder or more friendly. We experienced a small problem with the V in our original room. The staff, Miles and Murray in particular, were amazing. They gave us a free bottle of Prosecco and upgraded us to a larger room. We felt comfortable, at home, and taken care of throughout the stay.
The only tiny niggle was with the sound on the TV in our upgraded room, which was fixed uncomfortably high. We mentioned this to them on leaving and they said they are aware and are in the process of replacing the sound bars on the TVs.

Staff are very attentive and friendly. Drinks were very nice. Interior/theme was exceptional.
We booked ‘treat me like I’m famous’ package and last time we purchased this package we loved it. This time we had a mediocre experience, the breakfast was a let down. Prior we were given a menu when they partnered up with ‘bros bagels’ and we hoped the same this time however it was quite a boring hamper we were given. We ordered drinks last time and managed to get 5 drinks with our bar tab last time, this time we only managed to order 3 drinks with the tab. The cookies & milk was also a let down. Prior we had a hot gooey cookie and this time it was two tasty cookies but wasn’t the same.

my room was gorgeous. very comfortable bed. also the staff were so attentive and kind whenever I was going in and out the building. .
Would still come back. Just minor details tea making facilities....coffee machine in the room makes rank rotten tea. not good. can be better. I don't drink alcohol so the lovely offer of prosecco was turned down. I would have enjoyed a cup of tea on arrival instead. Was too shy to ask. that's on me. im fairly sure staff would have obliged if I had been less shy and just asked. WET ROOM the shower was on constant drip which meant cold wet feet every time I used the loo in the room. also permanent musty damp smell in that space as well. The shower space is very cramped. not sure how that can be improved really but definitely worth looking into the smell and mending a leaky shower head.

I love how different this hotel is, the interior and decor is incredible and so well thought out. The staff were amazing, so so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the treat me like I’m famous package, it was a perfect extra touch for my boyfriend’s birthday and they even left a card. The location is just off the royal mile so it was perfect! They also have a bar which has immaculate vibes also.
The room is slightly small which we were aware of upon booking from reading reviews. This wouldn’t stop me from staying again though, it’s okay for a short trip and the hotel makes up for it in character.

What an excellent spot. The hotel is like something out of Moulin Rouge set. This is a small, concept hotel with cabins and suites. If you're after a lush, chain-style hotel with loads of facilities, this is not it. If you're after something that really screams to be photographed with a great deal of rock and roll vibes and fun, this is it. Breakfast gets served in a hamper, delivered to your door, and waits for you on a little barstool. They have some fun extras that you can order to make the stay a festive one. I was here for the Ed Fringe, which is close to many venues. Rooms are cleverly laid out with flowers, espresso devices and attention details that make you feel special. I had the smallest possible room, and yet it was perfect.
There is no breakfast buffet, so you need to be organised and order your breakfast in advance. There is also no restaurant on site, but that's not a problem as you're in the heart of the old part of town with loads of options. I had a small cabin; it came with a small bathroom.

Always enjoyed the dark romantic lighting that brought a beautiful gothic baroque atmosphere! The bathroom was spacious - said to be the largest in the whole hotel! The breakfast hamper which came with my booking made mornings tolerable. Housekeeping never disappoints!
The bedroom was quaint with little space for my luggage. There was not a huge selection for the breakfast hamper - perhaps a checklist would suffice? Staff was unfortunately late bringing my breakfast hamper each morning of my stay.

Great location in the Cowgate. Old town, Grassmarket, Royal Mile all within 2 min walk. Lots of nearby attractions, pubs, cafes, restaurants. Great decor and atmosphere. Think ‘Lazlo’ WWDITS. Super helpful and friendly staff. Good value especially as we stayed during the Fringe when everywhere is extortionate normally. Not so HOGS.
Not a dislike but parking not great. We didn’t require any as Edinburgh is a city best suited for exploring on foot or the excellent cheap public transport

The location of the hotel being situated only a short walk from the Royal Mile is excellent and the rooms are very opulent and well thought out. The staff were fantastic and couldn't be more helpful.
The only negatives we had was the size of the rooms. Although well thought out the rooms are very small as are bathrooms. The shower and toilet are within a foot of each other so after a shower the bathroom is more like a swimming pool than a bathroom. The style of beds are cabin beds, so they are surrounded on 3 sides meaning if someone wants out of the bed it becomes a bit of wrestling match to get in & out of the bed.
