The staff were excellent, very friendly, willing to go that extra mile, they held onto my case for a few hours the day after my stay, as I flew out many hours after checkout. Speaking of, gave me an extra hour late checkout after asking, no questions asked. I checked in around 3pm and the person on desk couldn't have been more welcoming. Room itself, I enjoy the name theming, especially as I can now make the easy joke that I was inside Sharlene Spiteri on my break.

I enjoy the cold, so not much issue for me, but I feel others may have found the room a little chilly. It made the tiled bathroom a bit less comfy to use. The windows were also sealed, but there was perhaps a bit of looseness due to high winds which made them a bit loud. Not rattling, just a bit of broad noise. Perhaps a bit more sound control between the bathroom and bedroom could have solved that.

The decor is amazing! It's filled with photographs of Scottish celebrities from the sports, music, and acting worlds. Each room has a theme -- we stayed in the Rod Stewart Room, which is right next to the Sir Sean Connery Room. There was a huge photo of Rod Stewart over the headboard. The restaurant was good -- haggis was featured in every category except dessert, which was funny -- with plenty of non-haggis options. The "new town" was very walkable and staff were helpful about giving us directions and recommendations. There are also multiple restaurants that are an easy walk from the hotel.

The breakfast is good, but the options were limited. There were a variety of eggs benedict options, yogurt and fruit, or porridge. I would have liked some more variety.

I loved that each bedroom featured a famous person from Scotland - together with all the fabulous photographs downstairs. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the facilities were excellent. The 'proper' coffee in the bedrooms was an added bonus. Breakfast was gorgeous with good options and when we dined in one night, the cod was absolutely delicious. Wonderful selection of drinks and cocktails. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Ummm - the curtains in the bedroom - they were heavy and long - I found them very difficult to pull - maybe a pole attached to the top rings might help. But it was such a small thing and otherwise I could not complain about anything. I loved my room - the bed was exceptionally comfortable and there was no noise to disturb me.

The location was superb and the hotel felt plush, perfect for a bougie stay to celebrate a friend's 50th. Breakfast wasn't the cheapest, but it was very tasty and left us full for most of the day. The bed was comfy enough and the team were happy to switch to non-down pillows, due to allergies. The location was absolutely superb for exploring Edinburgh.

It was a little tatty and worn in places in the room. The safe didn't work. Would have maybe expected a bit more magic for a 4* off Princes Street, but satisfied with our stay.

The staff were really friendly and attentive. I had an issue during my stay and the staff I informed were so kind and helpful. The bar downstairs is a place we've been regularly and love so the discount you get when staying in the hotel was very welcome. The hotel was lovely and quiet so felt very private and the location is just fantastic.

The mattress was far too soft for our liking (of course just personal preference but did impact our sleep!). All the decor looked a little tired and dated and for part of our stay the lift wasn't working. I had one incident where housekeeping entered my room when they weren't scheduled to, interrupting what I was doing and they were really quite brisk and unfriendly to me which felt like an invasion of privacy, but when I told other hotel staff they were very kind and assured me it shouldn't have happened and that conversations would be had with the relevant people.

The rooms were very unique and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar drinks were awesome. Atmosphere was everything we wanted.

There is no air conditioning and our room on the second floor was very warm. Not conducive for a great sleep. The fan was not enough in September and the window only opened 2 inches. The bed was a frame plus foam topper. Not super comfortable.

Beautiful, quirky hotel full of brilliant photographs of famous Scots. Very friendly & helpful staff. Delicious food brilliant live music in the bar every night. Quiet, comfortable room. Lovely filter coffee with jug in the room and Tunnocks teacakes every day. 😋 Within walking distance of all the galleries and museums, the castle, Princes gardens and lots more. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends.

Our first room had a very noisy machine outside - not belonging to the hotel. We asked about it and were immediately upgraded and moved to a different room - no noise! If the hotel had been full we may not have slept as well. 🤔

The location is fantastic. It's only 5mins walk to priness street and 10mins to Waverly Bridge. The room is clean and neat. But a little small actually. The wifi is nice which I love. As I booked just the day before I arrived, the price is more expensive than before. Good suggestion is give to who will travel to Edinburgh is book it early!

Room although smallish was well presented and clean. Bathroom a good size and again very clean. Shower has excellent water pressure too. Breakfast very good and the location is ideal. Would definitely stay here again

Signage in the hotel a little confusing- each room is named and the names are on the wall but not with corresponding room number. And you're given a room number but no name so you have to search for the room number on the door of the room. Also the names are detailed on each floor but this doesn't correspond with the lift floor- so the list will say all the names of the rooms on the 3rd floor but that's the 4th floor in the lift which has the room numbers next to it You do get used to it but maybe there's a simpler way?

I stayed at the Angels Share hotel with my wife recently for the second time and found it every bit as welcoming and friendly as the first time I stayed. The hotel is very well located in the west end with a lot of Edinburgh's main attractions within easy walking distance. The hotel itself has a much more 'boutique' feel to it which I find very charming as the staff really make you feel welcome. The rooms are very clean, spacious and well appointed with slippers, gowns, water, tea cake & pringles all complimentary and a full mini bar too! I thoroughly enjoyed the few days spent here and will definitely be returning. By the way, make sure not to miss some of the fantastic cocktails in the hotel bar!
