I had a bed in six person dormitory (female only). Beds are good and sturdy, and quite private. I had the top bed, and the locked cupboard to store stuff is inside the bed unit. Just bring your own lock with you. + Still plenty of room to sleep even with the cupboard. + There is a wall plug inside the cupboard but also outside of it to use (both norm and USB). + The dormitory had it's own toilet and shower, so you only share it with 5 other people. + There is a luggage room that is only accessible by the staff. + Easy walking distance, but depending what you doing in Birmingham can be a bit of a walk from places. ++ The price, cannot fault that +++ The staff! There was same man working throughout the whole evening/night of my stay (I think his name started with H). He answered all my questions, was very helpful and nice, and did it with a smile on his face.

The bed is spacious, you have enough room to actually sit up. The location is great as well. If you're in a budget, there's a Tesco nearby. There is a kitchen if you want to make your own food. They also have a studio with yoga mats if you want to workout (no gym though 😔)
The wi-fi doesn't connect when I use it in the bed/room. It might depend which room you are in but at least that was the case for me. I have to end up going to the common area to use it normally. Also, it might be helpful there are at least two staffs around. I slightly panicked in the morning when no one was by the desk. I had to check out and I am in a hurry to catch the train. However, the staff wasn't too long away from the desk. But having a staff by the desk at all time could be helpful. The bathroom in the room was a little too cold. I had to go to the other floors to use the shared bathroom which are warmer.

The hostel has a great staff, a great location, nice mattresses, and beds of a good size. It's clean in general and they have a small market inside for quick shoppings.
There were a few small fixes to make, like the door locker, and the toilet seat. Also, a few items to add like a hook in the bathroom to put clothes and stuff on and a shelf in the bath to place our products on. In the kitchen, it could be more appliance, like a pan -lid, oil, cutlery, etc. Those small things were missing, but I advised the receptionist to fix them because they don't use them as guests and they may not know these details and people don't say anything to them, but complain here on the site.

central location with nice staff, basic but nice room
the immediate surrounding are rough, I would not recommend it to a female solo traveller

My whole experience here was really nice and comfortable. I slept well, the breakfast was delicious (especially the latte with oat milk, omg), and all the receptionists were friendly and supportive. The bathrooms are okay and I really liked that there’s shampoo and conditioner provided. Also, I loved the fact that the power points close to beds are already universal adaptors, so I could use my chargers from Argentina without the need of an external adaptor. That was super handy! I’d come back, and recommend 100%.
Even though the location is good and near to the city centre, the surroundings are a bit dangerous if you’re a woman walking alone at times.

Lovely, lovely place to stay. Clean, comfortable, very pleasant, great communal areas, balcony, outside seating area aswell as kitchen and lounge. Excellent location walking distance to everything.
Only thing for improvement...bed curtain bar was bent....so light got through. There is a large box storage at the side end of bed for back packs etc...this is a good idea but makes the bed area a bit cramped. A smaller box storage would be better in bed area and free standing tall lockers in room ....guests tended to just leave their things on the floor ...so not great if you need get out in case of fire or need to use toilet or leave early in the morning....a rule to keep walkways clear would be good.

The Bedford Inn was a fantastic choice for our stay in Ramsgate . From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with comfortable bedding and a lovely view. The breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious, with a variety of options to suit all tastes. The location was also excellent, within easy walking distance of many . My experience was very positive, and we would happily recommend this hotel to others .

Perfect location for what I was looking for, direct into town by a short walk and only one train away from the airport! Lovely facilities with the cinema and zen room, didn't use the cinema room much but it's nice to know it's there to use. Used the zen room more for daily yoga and breathing techniques. Staff were lovely when I raised issues below and were dealt with in a timely manner!
Unfortunately it was a 8 shared space and the facilities were let's put it nicely heavily used. I did have to raise issues in the bathroom as there weren't cleaning products for those that made the mess to clean it up. The shower head was the wrong one so it was giving the wrong amount of pressure, which made an already unpleasant time in the shared bathroom a little bit worse. Disrespectful manners of a shared space attendee, late at night causing a little bit of ruckus with their "pleasure" seeking. Thankfully, it was only one night but still worth mentioning. The points above are not to do with the location or the facilities, just more answering the question of what I didn't like while staying there.

Very big comfortable room. Looked nice as well. Was pleasantly surprised at how nice i found it considering I read quite a fair amount of negative reviews which I'm glad I didn't let sway my decision to stay here.
Had some issues not being able to contact hostel with the number provided and then also had some messing about when booking in. Also wasn't happy at being charged a little fee (£5) without being told why or what it was for. I never did really find out despite asking and was told it would be paid back but it never was. When booking in the man on the desk asked to see my bank card and he held onto it doing something for a couple of minutes which I now feel must have been taking the details to charge me the small fee for reasons unknown like I stated above. Wasn't happy about this. Very sneaky.

My friend and I stayed here for 1 night before attending Download festival and had such a lovely experience! When we arrived staff helped us to check into our room early and were very friendly! Communications were also great and made easy over the hostels guest app. The room was gorgeous and had everything we needed, the bathroom was fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, plenty of towels etc. The lamps were also touch activated and the main light had a motion sensor. We also had a heater beside our bed. We booked a standard room with an en-suite and got way more than we expected based on the cheap price we payed. There was an open night mic the day we stayed which was lovely and it finished up early enough so as not to disturb guests. We were also able to store our luggage all day after checking out so overall it was a lovely stay and I would definitely recommend!
The only thing is that it's not very close to the centre of Birmingham but it's still very accessible by tram, taxi or simply a short 15 minute walk. Also our luggage wasn't labelled when stored away but it was locked and kept safe and a member of staff was there whenever we wanted to put it away/collect it.
