Brilliant location, close to Botanic Gardens, Queens University and Ulster Museum, across the road from the Empire theatre/ music venue and in a lovely area with plenty of cafes and little shops and transport links. Room was large and beautifully decorated and clean. Particularly love the little cosy window seat/people watching deck! Self check in was easy and stress free but sadly no free beer left when we arrived, but a lovely touch for anyone who managed to get one on arrival. We stayed in the discounted room above the bar and I was pleasantly surprised at the noise level. You can definitely hear the music but it was almost background level and it was coming from a speaker in the outside seating bit, no noise or vibration coming through the floor or walls. Didn't take us too long to get used to it plus I think it's open until 11 or midnight so no noise throughout the night.

I don't think you could ask for a better location in Belfast. About 10 mins walk from city hall and the main transport stations, 5 mins from the university, botanic gardens and ulster museum, and with plenty of good food, drink and nightlife options right on your doorstep, moreso than if you were actually staying in the centre proper. Hotel bar stays open reasonably late as well.
Check-in is fully automated, so you're at the mercy of a computer as to whether you can have your key and go to the room early etc. whereas a human receptionist might be more flexible, the staff in the bar are helpful but limited in what they can do. The door to my room doesn't swing fully closed behind you but has to be pulled the extra bit, which led to the room accidentally being left unlocked by myself or the cleaners on several occasions. Some might find the very modern dark grey decor a bit unattractive, but that's a minor issue on the whole.

Nice sized rooms clean and comfortable. Lovely bar area down stairs. Great location. Self service check in, no staff to help but we did recieve a phone call after check in to make sure we had everything we needed.
Rooms were very dark and badly lit. We had one tiny window which didn't help. Lots of stairs no lift so be aware of that when booking. Not great sound proof between rooms you will hear everything. It was over priced for what we got. If the rate was lower I would have been happier. I wouldn't stay again unless it was a good bit cheaper.

Great location and the staff at the bar were very helpful. My original booking canceled the day before my stay, so I was frantically looking for a new location. 1852 was affordable and available. I arrived around 11am; too early to check in. The kind woman at the restaurant let me leave my bags in a locked room while I explored the city. Room had everything I needed and an easy walk to all the 'touristy' spots. This was my first time traveling entirely alone, so I was concerned about security - felt very safe here.
I wish I had thought to ask for a quiet room at the back, but because my original lodging had been canceled the day before, I didn't think to ask. My room faced the busy street and there was a bar across the street with enthusiastic customers who enjoyed hanging out on the sidewalk until 1am. Could have been worse, but I would recommend if you need a good night sleep to ask for a room off the main street.

The location is very convenient. Restaurants nearby, bus stop to city Center in the corner. Only 10 mins away by foot from queens university and botanical gardens. Very good beds and cushions. We had a request for room change that was done to our satisfaction.
It is a 3 story building without lift. We had to carry our heavy suitcase to the 3. Floor. Not appropriated for people with poor fitness or mobility. There is a bar downstairs with outdoor seating and it can be very noisy until 2am if you are in a room facing the street. Ear plugs are helpful. It is very impersonal. They have “virtual” receptionists, you can communicate with them only by phone or WhatsApp. They are however nice and helpful. The furniture in the rooms is very minimalist, only 4 hangers, no drawers, no shelves in the bathroom, you can only use the floor for your Necessaire. The kettle may not have a cable long enough for the nearest plug.

The room was clean, the bathroom was modern and spacious. The location was fine. The restaurant downstairs was convenient and delicious. There was not much outside noise that could be heard inside, which was nice. The free beer was a nice touch! We would stay here again.
There was no overhead lighting in the room, only lamps. The self check-in could be improved by adding a scanner for the passports. We didn't have time to enter passport info prior to arriving, so standing in the small space with my family and our luggage while restaurant goers were right next to us was inconvenient and awkward.

Room was modern and clean. Shower and bathroom were very clean and of good quality. TV was great and bed very comfy. Staff were brilliant, i had a negative experience with a male guest of the hotel who could not find his room and was intoxicated, therefore leading to him attempting to gain access to my room. I phoned reception and was immediately reassured that this would be dealt with and sympathy was given. Around 15 mins later i got a call back from reception with an update on the situation and again reassured immensely as well as apologised to. They also offered for one of the female staff to come and check up on me later if i wanted, i said no to this however it was amazing service. I believe the person i spoke to at reception was David, however this may be wrong)
the kettle had not been emptied from the last guest who had used it, which i imagine was a while ago as it was covered in dust and had clearly not been de-scaled in a while, if ever. the spout was thick with dust/ grime and limescale so much so that when making a cup of tea there was an iridescent layer on the top of the liquid. No other aspect of the room/ facilities were dirty and so i imagine this is just something that has been overlooked or missed.

The room was huge. Great to have an iron and ironing board. Kettle and tea and coffee but only 2 paper cups left in the room (there were 3 of us) Good toiletry choices, plenty of towels. Check in was easy on arrival.
Windows were drafty and didn’t keep the excess noise from outside when the local students decided to have a race in the road at 04.30am. The residents above our room were very heavy in their feet so much so that when they walked above our room the mirror on the wall in our room bounced around on the wall with the vibrations.

The hotel is stunning, in a great location about 10 minutes walk from queens university and 12€ taxi from titanic museum. Mainly used uber during the trip and had no issues. You’re not far at all from city centre but it’s about thirty minutes walk so we didn’t bother and just got a taxi. The hotel bar downstairs is really nice but expensive, however regarding the actual room, it was lovely and so clean with everything you need.
The staff were quite rude when we asked questions about the self check in, as if we were bothering them by intruding on their conversations going on behind the bar.

The room was large and comfy. While it is a staffless hotel, they were responsive on booking.com messages. A nice touch was providing a free beer per person after checking in.
One of our towels was dirty on arrival. So we left it to the side. This was then not changed by housekeeping on 2nd day which as odd. Housekeeping also didn't provide new clean cups for tea or coffee yet gave us new tea and coffee? We had to check out early on our last day before the cafe next door opened thus we couldn't leave our luggage in the hotel which was a little expensive and unexpected. One issue which was a bit strange was that therr were no plug sockets by the bed only specific ones for the lamps.
