Rainbow house is probably the best place I've stayed in Northern Thailand, absolutely great! A family owned business run by the kindest people! Excellent place for both longterm and short term stay. Went for a week and spent 1 1/2 month. Very good location, walking distance from food market etc but at the same time quiet and cozy. There is a small beautiful pond with fish and plenty of nice spots around the property to hang around and either chill or socialize. The owners are very discrit but helpful at the same time, always there for you and your needs. I'm not the type of person that stays in ' shared bathroom ' places but in Rainbow House I never ever had any difficulties coping with it. The facilities were always clean and more than enough for the amount of persons staying there. Coming to accomodation, Pai in general is a bit of a difficult place. Prices are high for what you get. Almost all the places have problems with hot water ( makes total sense, water comes straight from the mounstains so it's really cold and the small heaters that use in the guesthousei don't have enough time to heat it up), noise from the bars around Pai and maybe cold in the night. People that come at this part of Thailand need to have this things in their mind and don't expect miracles. Taken under consideration these factors plus the price of a room in Rainbow House plus the super kind owners I strongly believe that this place, Rainbow House is by far one of the best places one can stay in Pai. - spacious and simple bungalow with mosquito net - calmer area, but walking distance to the center - Nice and relaxing garden with “private” hammock - Free single cup of instant coffee each morning and drinking water - Hosts were always welcoming, gave some suggestions and were always available - Clean room and area around - Even though simple and antique facilities, it has some charm and a fair price

- luke warm shower and manual toilet flush - WiFi signal is not the best - Blanket for 2 people is a bit small for colder nights - we could probably have asked for one more - They have some birds in a cage

Family run business! Very kind and helpful. Beautiful gardens, surrounded by the sounds of nature - birds, crickets and everything else. The rustic bungalows are clean and simple - perfectly suited to the environment. Budget friendly! Rainbow House is perfect for solo travellers/backpackers - this place is usually fully booked in advance. Close to city centre. Everything is only a short walk away.

It’s very hard to complain about this place. Let’s be real here. If you expecting a five star (*****) stay and facilities - book a $60/night hotel. This is THE BEST budget friendly hostel in Pai and is usually fully booked for this reason. Don’t complain , be grateful, support the family. They appreciate you! ✌️✌️

Great location as it’s a 10/15 minute walk from the main streets, the outside area you have your own hammock as well as communal swings and tables. Be prepared for some geckos and ants/beetles being in your room but thats just what you get for a rural bungalow in Pai. Room was clean, shower done the job and toilet didn’t flush but that’s common for this area. Great value for money, and the owners were lovely and let us extended our booking an additional night.

The location was perfect, just outside the city but close enough if you have a bike or even if you walk it’s about a 15 min walk. I loved the whole property, there was a little hut outside in the field with hammocks and shade. The room itself was super cozy and just large enough for 2 people, we had a view outside our window of the little pond and bridge. Just super peaceful. Plus the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

Shared bathroom for all of the smaller bungalows, but it was expected. There wasn’t toilet paper half the time in the bathroom but if you go ask the front they’ll always provide you with some.

You get what you pay for and to be honest this had everything you need. Nothing flash but it does the job. The scenery around the rooms is beautiful and the owners are amazing and very friendly and always offering a hand. Definitely Worth the $ if you are on a budget like us. It’s not too far out from anything either. We would stay there again.

The huts are so beautiful to stay in! There’s a small pond, little bridge and different seating areas right outside the huts to socialise or just chill out. It’s so peaceful and quiet here we loved it. Only about 10 mins walk to the busy part of Pai. The staff were so lovely and went out of their way to say hello and create conversation with their customers. Free tea and coffee is available to residents too. The shared bathrooms are only a few steps away and we’re always clean.

The beautiful garden, it was a quiet place where one can relax in nature, but close to everything, friendly staff. The bed was comfortable..

A few additions would have made the stay perfect: kettles in the rooms, a hairdryer, some shelves for clothes (there was nowhere to store them).

Comfy, simple bungalows away from the center. Lovely garden with incredible mountain views and a nice, little pond with a bamboo bridge. Beautiful nature sounds at night. Mostly quiet. Nice hosts.

I didn't realize this is kind of close to a noisy hostel in the area, so you might hear a megaphone/loud microphone event on some nights, but fortunately it doesn't last until late. Not a lot of options to eat nearby, but that comes with being away from the center.

Super nice bungalow style accommodation in such good surroundings away from the loudness and party of pai, staff are super friendly and free water and coffee is available
