Very friendly staff and good mix of different kind of travellers - city tourists, long term nomads, people staying on town for a job. Great age mix too, everything from youngsters to seniors. Nice courtyard to relax in, despite the very central location at a busy road it's comparatively quiet inside. Bicycle friendly, three cyclists staying at the time I was there.
Dorms get very cramped with luggage, suitcases are supposed to go under the beds but the average one was about twice too big for that. Top bunk beds need secure footedness to climb into, lacking good hand holds in critical places. Showers/toilets are basic but clean. Kitchen is cleaned by staff regularly, how long it stays in that condition is as usual up to the people using it. During my stay there's been repeated confusion about which beds in the dorm are taken - both mine and another guests bed were assigned to new guests while we were still there and just out for the day, despite quite clearly marked as occupied (side tables filled with personal belongings). However staff always cleared the situation and was in general very supportive and friendly at all times.

Choosing to stay at this hostel was a great decision! As a solo traveler, I was happy to meet new friendsâlocals, returning guests who keep coming back to enjoy their holidays in Cape Town, and some young travelers. Everyone was incredibly helpful with information, but Daniele, who works in the office, is truly amazingâso kind and always ready to help. People adore her; sometimes they even line up just to have a small chat with her! It truly felt like a home away from home. Highly recommended!
My room was located along the passage, and since it was hot, I kept the window open, which meant I could hear people passing by and early morning conversations. I recommend bringing earplugs for a quieter stay.

So quite, even though it is in a good location close to everything. We felt calm and safe at night. There werenât noise from clubs.
There isnât an easy way to climb to the top bunk bed. You have to kind of jump or climb from the end of the bed. If it can be fixed for future guests to climb on and get off easy this hostel will really be perfect!

The friendly staff, the friendly people and where it is situated, the breath taking view of Table Mountain. That's where I'll book when I get to CPT for a Holiday/Business trip. , I didn't want to check-out today đ , i felt at home. I love it!! â¤ď¸đŻ
I was a bit confused about the Dormitories, I thought we'd be separated by gender đ little did I know, plus it was my first being in a Dormitory. I honestly don't have anything to complain about. Infact Zebra Crossing is amazing and everyone should take Notes from them. đŻđđż

Decent location with view of Table Mountain/Lion's Head, and close to Kloof Street area. A very homely place, with very nice friendly staff. Small, but decent value for money, for a private room, if you need/want your own space. I'd stay here again if i came with friends, or knew there would definitely be other travelers there.
Unfortunately not the vibe for me whilst i was there, as not really any travelers there at the time, just a dozen teenagers on some 2-month college trip from abroad, who took over the common areas. Might be worth enquiring beforehand if in doubt.

Warm welcome, staff super kind, helpful which just made my short stay very relaxing. Location is great, if you have a car you can rent a parking bay. It's just far away that ithere is no noise at night which is great to sleep but also just close enough that either way you can be at Companyâs Gardens or Gardens Shopping in under 15 muinutes.
Its extremely good value for money and cleaned/maintained, however when I was there the dorms were quiet empty - interested to see what it looks like.

Staff were kind. Place was kept clean, especially the bathrooms. I was very impressed. WiFi was strong. Rooms have lockers (bring your own lock. There are enough plugs for everyone. We had a fan in our room which helped with the heat.
Mattress was a bit worn in. Guests should adhere to the noise levels timelines. Making a boost in common areas at 5am shouldn't be allowed.

I like the ambience - that is - Zebra Crossing is the kind of place that guests feel like hanging out - chatting and sharing tips about travel. I can't recommend it highly enough. If it is your first time in Cape Town you will soon be right at home. Friendly friendly friendly place - without being "in your face" all the time.
ha ha - more room in the fridge.

Very pleasant, helpful staff.
Power outages every day. Not their fault.
