The room was lovely. Spa facilities were great and just an overall very chilled experience. The staff also couldn’t do more to help and were very friendly and accommodating.

A huge negative for us was the extremely overpriced food/drinks in the hotel. I get it’s a captive audience but I’ve eaten in Michelin Star restaurants for considerably cheaper. This was the make or break for a return visit for us I’m afraid.

Our Master Double bedroom was exceptionally generous in size, very comfortable, beautifully decorated, light and clean. The complimentary 90min’s use of the spa facilities (steam room, sauna, outdoor hot tub, indoor heated swimming pool) was most enjoyable. Dinner was very delicious despite a limited menu. Good variety of breakfast options. We chose full English breakfast and a vegetarian English breakfast, both beautifully cooked. Staff very polite, welcoming, helpful and attentive. As a result we happily paid for the (optional) 5% service charge which will be shared by all hotel staff.

Hotel Staff were brilliant, very accommodating, pleasant and friendly very much contributing to a lovely family 50th anniversary celebration weekend. Food in both restuarants lived up to reviews, flavoursome and very well presented our waiters happy to allow us choices from both menus to ensure our grandchildren had choices. Our suite a feature room was very large, with a very large comfortable bed , sofas and armchairs even an alcove with a desk. The decor is to a high standard and very pleasing to the eye ,large bathroom with large freestanding bath and walk in shower, always plenty of hot water on demand, quality toiletries, bathrobes and slippers, dressing area with a large wardrobe. Also a coffee and tea station with a fridge and fresh milk. Delightful grounds around the hotel both ornamental and even a croquet lawn. The spa though small has everything a pool, a hot tub and a gym with a good variety of treatments available. All in all an ideal weekend.

It would have been nice if our 3 year old could have enjoyed the spa pool, the under 4 rule is puzzling?

My wife and I just had a fantastic stay at a beautiful countryside hotel. The Manor Suite we had was grand, clean, and cosy, with stunning views. Dinners were of a very high standard, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel, garden, and grounds were particularly impressive, especially in nice weather. The spa facilities, including the steam room and hydrotherapy pool, were excellent, and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her separate treatment. We stayed for three or four days and had a wonderful experience—definitely a place we’ll return to.

Our only minor issue was that more milk and water should be available in the room for teas and coffees.

Once we were there everything was good, especially the rooms, bathrooms, restaurant. Staff were friendly.

I messaged the hotel several times before arrival to change the name of my guest, try to book a meal etc. None of these messages (mainly through booking.com) were replied to, which was frustrating. Despite phoning with my new guest's name, all communications came to the old name, and addressing us by our surnames e.g. "Dear Newton", which I found odd. Either "Dear Dr Newton" or "Dear Helen" would have done. I rang to see if our dinner was booked, left a message and was not phoned back, though the meal turned out to be ok. It felt as though the admin was by a whole series of algorithms with no real people involved, and separate from the actual hotel and staff. Once you met actual people, things were fine. On arrival I was given a room slip booked in someone else's name altogether...

What a stunning hotel for our 25th anniversary we loved every minute. The staff were very friendly and attentive, our upgraded room was beautiful and had everything we needed. The vegan breakfast was wonderful. The treatments in the spa were a perfect start to our break. In gorgeous rural surroundings but only ten minutes’ drive into Cheltenham it was ideal. Thank you we will be back.

The aircon was not working in the spa and it was very difficult for my other half to lounge in the pool area as it was so hot and oppressive. The hot tub didn’t seem to be working properly either.

Lovely building in beautiful grounds. Very friendly and helpful staff from the moment we arrived. Given a room upgrade which was much appreciated. Very large room and well appointed. Enjoyed the use of the sitting room and bar with tea and drinks. Lovely Christmas atmosphere - very cosy. Breakfast was served beautifully in the delightful dining room. Used the spa on a half day package with lunch. Good facial.

Only very slight criticism was the quality of the ingredients used at breakfast - the sausage and the bread as two examples. The spa area was incredibly hot - but could access outside hot tub for fresh air

The location was fantastic, just outside of Cheltenham but lovely views of the countryside. The hotel is beautifully decorated and very much in keeping with the age of the property. The rooms was warm and cosy especially at Christmas, the decorations were lovely. The spa is really good, very clean with a good size pool and sauna and steam room. The staff were so friendly the service was one of the best including in the spa. We had an issue with the window in our bedroom and this was resolved immediately so can't thank you enough for a wonderful stay, will definitely be returning.

The only downside was the outdoor jacuzzi wasn't working. The water was heated but there were no bubbles.

We stayed here for the weekend for our baby moon. The hotel and grounds are gorgeous and staff so helpful and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was lovely and I even requested a slight change to a breakfast order which wasn’t on the menu and that was no problem at all. We used the spa every day and it was very relaxing with great facilities. Also it’s probably the cleanest spa I’ve ever seen 😍. Our room was perfect, also beautifully clean and the bed very comfortable. Thanks for a wonderful stay! 💗

Only downside was the pool area in the spa was a tad bit too hot for us to stay for too long but I know some people may like that. They were also fully booked with treatments so we didn’t get to have one. But that’s our fault for not booking earlier so I would recommended booking far in advance for that.

Staff were excellent and friendly, communication was efficient, re booking spa, checking in times, etc, as we were delayed due to software issues... missed our first night, so that was very disappointing. However, it wasn't due to the hotel... The room was spacious and very good standard, just missing air-conditioning. However, there was a small fan supplied in the room before we arrived. Barman was friendly and ended up having a few cocktails 🍸 due to his advice, which in fairness the cocktails were delicious 😋 If you want a place to relax, friendly staff, with lovely surroundings and a very nice spa, this is your place..

Nothing, will definitely stay again. I'm planning on going back already...
