Very clean room, great location near to Hastings seafront, lots of shops nearby, facilities excellent, large bath in room was amazing. Great TV choices, sky available and lots of other apps. I would like to say Darren was a fantastic host. I booked quite last minute and Darren was so helpful. I proposed to my girlfriend and even though I only booked this property the day before; I asked Darren if I would be able to get some things for my room. He kindly collected balloons for me and also flowers that I had arranged at a florist, Darren went out of his way and collected all of this for me and decorated the room beautifully even with such short notice. Me and my fiancée loved our stay and will definitely be back. Thank you for helping make it even more special! Excellent place to stay!

Felt so homey and warm to be there, felt very welcomed and the hosts made extra effort to make me enjoy my birthday relaxing and the staff were absolutely lovely! Also the space felt so clean and nice, much better than a hotel stay! Will definitely be back if I come to Hastings again!

There was not much to not like! Maybe a few more instructions regarding using the space and I booked a slot at the jacuzzi and sauna as soon as I got to the property but couldn’t find a robe and was a bit cold after coming out of the water and sauna without one but booked the space due to the amenities which were a real treat!

Although the breakfast was not a cooked full English, there was ample choice. The owner also baked some pastries. Huge variiety of teas and coffees. Variety of milk in the fridge. It was a help yourself system which we like. There is also a fridge for guests to use. The owners live on site and are very helfpful and friendly. The bed was extremely comfortable, it was actually a 6ft and we had a great night's sleep. Room was really clean and the shower was really good. Location was very good.

We arrived very late and it was dark. Struggled with the numbers on the key box to the room. We managed by using the torch and magnifier on our phone. The key boxes are quite low. There was a choice of two pillows. One was too soft and flat, and the other was too high and hard, but this personal preference., and may be perfect for others. There are steps up to the front door. This could be a problem for someone with disabilities.

What a lovely place, and what lovely hosts. It's quiet and spacious, and the hot tub is great, as are the showers in the garden after you've done the hot tub. The hosts could not have been more helpful. The bed was very comfortable. I have joint issues and often need to use an air mattress on hotel beds, but this one was absolutely fine. I used the hot tub and then had nowhere to hang out a wet costume as I had no private bathroom (just the small single room) but the hosts helped me with that even though it was quite late. The rooms are quirkily named after detective series which was a charming touch.

To give context, I am a bit geographically challenged as a rule, but I did find it hard to find. It wasn't helped by many properties in the street being too posh to have house numbers visible. To find it, go all the way up the street till you see a corner with a road going off to the left, and up to the left find street parking, while the property is bang on the corner. They do have a sign facing the approach but it's in a very genteel green and easy to miss when you're dodging traffic and buses. I probably wouldn't walk in some of the nearby areas on my own at night, but you'll find that in many towns and the immediate environs were fine.

After a few days weighed down by tension, I chose to retreat to the quaint coastal town of Hastings, hoping for a momentary escape. After a fair amount of online browsing, I stumbled upon this place. My arrival didn’t initially feel as welcoming as I had hoped—perhaps a reflection of my own weary heart. But the following morning, as I sat down for breakfast, the breathtaking view and gentle, peaceful atmosphere unfolded before me like a soothing embrace. It was a place where every tired soul could find comfort and warmth. The owner, like many who pour their hearts into small businesses, was gracious and warm, weaving a space where strangers became friendly breakfast companions. The two women who worked there added to the magic, creating a tranquil, inviting ambiance. The rooms weren’t numbered; instead, each bore a unique name, whispering its own story and lending the place a delightful charm. Between the heartfelt service, the cozy surroundings, and the serene environment, it was an experience that left a lingering warmth—gentle, genuine, and romantic.

We truly enjoyed everything about our stay at Northrise Retreat! Darren was so friendly and accommodating. The beautiful private backyard with sauna and hot tub really did make this a true ‘retreat’ for us after a couple weeks of action packed sightseeing. Lovely high ceilings gave a grand feeling and the modern shower was second to none. Lots of pressure and hot water with beautiful aromatic products. The second handheld shower head was mounted could tilt and be the perfect high pressure shower head height for me, a short 5’2” woman. Best ever!!!

Hosts and staff very friendly and attentive and always making sure all their guests were okay and asking if we needed anything. Clean and comfortable accommodation. Enjoyed the hot tub as well. Extremely good variety of food and drinks for breakfast and breakfast was available from 8 -11 so no need to rush around in the mornings. Not a cooked breakfast but I preferred the breakfast on offer. Very good value for money.

Everything was very chilled out and relaxed really enjoyed the facilities and the quite and area was great with lots to do and see Breakfast was really nice plenty of food to help yourself to and pastries witch were nice and went quickly lol The bed was really comfy and had a good sleep even thou I have a bad back The room was spotless very clean i had no issues the owners are really polite and helpful if you need anything just ask there always there to help and are happy to do so always saying hello and asking how you are it feels very homely and everything was great thank you both for the stay

The only thing I could say is that we weren't greeted at the door so had to figure it out for ourselves but after we had got in are room everything was really good and we settled pretty quickly never been in a place like this before and really enjoyed it (one other not was I got confused with witch room we had wasn't sure if we had are own private hot tub or not a few things on booking.com need adjustments but other then that it's great probably just me lol)

The accommodation was very clean & nicely decorated. The ability to make a hot drink of tea/coffee was much appreciated The garden was beautifully maintained with a gorgeous seating area, hot tub & use of sauna Breakfast in the dining area was a relaxed affair with views over the garden. The host Darren checked everything was to our likeing The overall atmosphere was informal, friendly & welcoming. Although we only came for 1 night we both agreed, we felt like we were on holiday. would 100% recommend to friends & family Plenty of information was provided from start of booking via an email Informative, welcoming & a useful folder left in the room. It's the little touches that let you know a lot thought & hard work had gone into making this a very pleasant stay for guests. For me personally I very much appreciated that.
