Hotel itself is beautiful. Beautifully decorated, spacious and clean. Reception area is fabulous with gorgeous open fire. Blue Mermaid hotel resturant and bar serves fabulous food for a good price. Staff were all very helpful, particularly housekeeping staff so friendly and polite and doormen who are so helpful in advising and getting transport for you. Excellent location for days chilling out in fishermans wharf and pier 39 area.
Would have been good if hotel resturant/bar stayed open later at night as with location of hotel there is no where local open later in evenings to get a meal or drink. As a family of adults this was an issue.

Spotlessly, clean, wonderful hotel, inviting lobby, fascinating, national Park, Maritime Museum, right there. Right on fisherman‘s wharf.. Corrine at the front desk is a superstar and went above and beyond in every way. The word no is not part of the vocabulary at the front desk, never heard it.
We hurt our back humping bottled water down the hill to the hotel room. Can’t afford the eight dollars per quart water in the room, they should provide drinking water at hotel of this caliber. So simple. Florida is a little thin, over the weekend a kid was running back-and-forth in the room above us, interrupting our peace and quiet. Blue mermaid restaurant is gorgeous, but breakfast just so so. It’s a chowder house, we wanted to try chowder around 10:30 AM before check out, but they don’t have it till lunch. Crab omelette, a bit fishy and few pieces of shell in it. Coffee is weak and espresso six dollars a shot! The air conditioner/heater is modern but blows right on the bed and room was never the right temperature for some reason. Overnight we turned it off and it was fine.

The location, the size of the room and comfort of the bed were excellent.
We had breakfast in our room and despite the size of the room there was very little space for the breakfast tray. I would be good if the hotel offered a kettle in the room for guests who do not drink coffee. The breakfast tray remained outside our room for over 24 hours. The breakfast order was incorrect every morning (4 times). We have also had to query charges and discounts offered on check out invoice 3 times. However, despite these niggles we would recommend this hotel and stay again if we visit San Francisco again.

I liked the hotel, nice quite, clean and comfortable and a nice gym which i used every single day. One very annoying thing was the need for a passcode on the toilets in the lobby. i kept forgetting it and kept having to ask for it.
the only thing i was disappointed on was the room view. we were looking at a court in the middle. horrible view. I really had hope for a sea view. When i asked about it i was told this was all that was available. Take it or leave it. no follow up. Maybe advertise crissy beach better. i didnt even know it was there. i kept turning right every day. disappointing.

Arrived in San Francisco and stopped by the iconic Buena Vista Cafe when we noticed the Argonaut Hotel. Firstly, I tried to phone twice in order to learn about rates and availability -- no luck reaching staff on the phone. So I had to use my phone and a third party App called Booking.com to find a room and then book it, which I did. Went over there soon after and checked in. Nice staff and great room. Nice breakfast the following morning. Hope to stay again someday.
There were no issues. Quiet nice staff

The rooms are wonderfully decorated, they provide wine glasses without requesting them, and the beds are super comfortable.
We got the cheaper king, no view room this time and it really was no view, except into the neighbors room. They should invest in some potted large plants, and at least hide the neighbors windows and add a little interest.

Excellent location on Fishermans wharf surrounded by shops and eateries. 15 minute walk from Pier 39. The hotel has an excellent restaurant with the best crab chowder. Various attractions are within walking distance, including Ghirardelli, the San Fransisco cable car company and the boat trips to Alcatraz and the Golden Gate bridge. Staff was very helpful. The rooms are beautiful and spacious with large tv, snacks, mini bar and very comfortable bed. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit San Fransisco.
Everything was fine, no negative experience.

The hotel is located at the end of Fisherman's Wharf, an absolutely amazing location close to everything. The cable car station is directly cross the street from hotel, Pier 39 (and other piers) are reachable by walk in few minutes. Hotel and rooms have an unique atmosphere created by well-selected furniture and equipment. Definitely recommended!
Nothing to mention here as a negative. It took me a while (and few circuits around the hotel) until I found the parking garage, but it was just my misunderstanding, the valet staff will guide you in case you'd like to self-park your car (and save some money).

Almost everything. Location was perfect. Its very comfortable and all staff are friendly and welcoming. We especially loved the outdoor restaurant seating and indoor bar areas. The room itself is spotless and spacious
3 things: 1- Bar closed at 9:30 which was ridiculous, even in July 4. We got up from bar stool on July 4 to look out the door and watch fireworks, as did 15 others, and all drinks were tossed. And the bar closed 2 - bathroom is tiny tiny tiny 3 - outdoor seating with fire tables nice, but this is another a common area to relax, this is ONLY for the restaurant. Even if ⅓ full you get kicked out
