It's in the middle of the village, close to the port and walking distance from two beaches. All 7 restaurants and bars are in walking distance. You can rent snorkeling gear and bicycles at the hostel. The bed in the female dorm was comfortable and you have your own fan. There is a drying room to hang towels and swimsuits. They have conditioner in the showers.
To go to the female dorm you have to walk through the mixed dorm, which may disturb people in the mixed dorm. The bed light didn't work in the female dorm beds. There is no proper kitchen, and no free coffee/tea.

It's amazing value for money because it's the only option available in that price range on the island. A 20mn walk from two great beaches, and bus stop is very close, also the bus goes pretty much anywhere you'd want to go given it's a small island. Amazing restaurants nearby. Staff was super kind. Rentals were very convenient. It was clean. We got a private room.
The beds weren't the most comfortable but super doable, especially for the price. It was clean but a bit humid, though I think it's because of the weather more than because of the hygiene standard!

It's a great place for budget travellers and people who are looking for a social place in the middle of the town. The guesthouse has a pizzeria / hamburger restaurant operating lunchtime and in the evening and they have excellent food! It's very close to the town's grocery store as well. We stayed in a private room with shared showers and toilets. I think the guesthouse did its best to work with what they have; it was always very clean and well maintained. You can also rent snorkelling equipment at the accommodation for a good price.
Our room was a bit dated / pretty basic, but this is something that's expected from a small island accommodation. There was only space for the beds and a nightstand in the room, it was pretty small and not really a place to stay in to relax. Some of the rental equipment for snorkelling was a bit damaged and they didn't have the anti fog liquid for the masks which would have been really useful, but none of these affected us too much as the price was super reasonable!

I like the location, the guesthouse is close to the ferry you arrive at and close places to do groceries or get food. I also liked the fact that you can hire snorkeling equipment everyday very easily for little money, also the younger guy and girl working at the hostel were extremely nice and welcoming. They also have great hamburgers you can get.
The only thing I didn’t like is that there isn’t really a nice comfy sitting / chilling area in or outside where you could connect with others as a solo traveler

What a cool little place. Clean, tidy, lovely staff. It is a welcoming place where you can feel at home. The facilities are good and it was clean and tidy. There seemed to be options to work for free accommodation But I don’t know what the terms for this are as I didn’t opt for it. The burgers and pizzas looked amazing too and I was really sad not to be able to try them while I was there (they closed the restaurant for a few days). Good AC in the rooms. Lots of space for drying stuff after you’ve been to the beach!
1000 yen for half a day rental for a bicycle seemed a bit steep for guests but it seemed to be the going rate on the island. Not a bad thing as the restaurants on the island are amazing, but worth knowing that the kitchen facilities are somewhat limited. There is a microwave, toaster, and kettle as well as a fridge. Otherwise everything was really easygoing.

The location of the hostel was good. The hostel is equipped with a hot water dispenser and cold water is also supplied in the fridge. The hostel is clean and hostess, Ai, was very friendly and helpful, always answering our questions with a smile even though she seemed busy.
The beds were a bit short and made noise when you moved. My bed was next to the door and it would always shake when door was closed. Basically in the morning I was forced to wake up by the constant stream of people coming in and out.

My favourite guest house in Japan! The staff were amazingggg, and helped us make an accommodation booking on a different island the following day. The tour of the facilities was awesome,You can rent bikes, snorkels, fins, umbrellas etc. We were able to leave our luggage before check in and after check out which made everything so easy. Such great vibes- loved every minute and just wish we could have stayed a lot longer.
Nothing!

What a special place! Felt welcomed in this rustic little island home from the moment I walked in and wish I could’ve stayed forever. The dorm was comfortable, location amazing and everything was very clean. While there’s no proper kitchen, there’s a microwave, dishes/cutlery and hot water + there are so many great restaurants in town, I didn’t feel like I needed a kitchen anyways! Thanks for an amazing stay!

Staff were really nice, easy access to rentals, laid back atmosphere
I’m not typically picky about beds, but these were really hard! It was like thin cushions as opposed to a mattress. Only storage for bags after checkout is on the front porch/deck area out in the open. I did end up leaving it there but it was a bit unnerving. While it was fine for one night, over priced in my opinion.
