County style venue in old Oast House, with a a variety of rooms available. Friendly staff at this lovely venue. Great food ( Recommend a look , at the specials board ) ~ Selection for breakfast was Great. About a 25 minute dawdle into town ( footpath all the way in ) Room , was clean, tidy and we had two good nights there. Plenty of parking.

Difficult to find anything to criticise. Only small thing was that , unfortunately the one real ale they have on pump was not available.

We ate dinner one evening at the hotel and it was very good, we also had breakfast every morning and that was very good. We were very well looked after.

Just a little thing that crossed my mind while there and that was it would have been nice to have the carpet from the bedroom carried through to the toilet, but I can understand why it wasn’t. It’s an old building and the floor was really cold. I know carpeting is not a good idea in toilet areas.

The room was lovely and very comfortable. A great sized, comfortable bed with tea/coffee available. The bath was a great added luxury. Kim, our host, was very welcoming, and we had a delicious roast dinner the evening of our stay. Breakfast was great, a fantastic addition to the stay, and again, the ladies looked after us really well. The folder of local information, including walks, was a great help, and we enjoyed a short walk into town.

Unique property. Nice restaurant with great food choice and decent portions. Reasonable pricing too. Hard working staff. Good attention to detail with rooms containing individual bottles of water, tissues, toiletries, tea, coffee, biscuits and kettle. Ironing board, iron and fan. Suggestion: provide the staff with a simple uniform. Black trousers and polo shirt with hotel name would add an additional element to the service.

The website does explain that dogs are welcome in some rooms. Unfortunately they were barking quite a lot which was disturbing other customers.

Great communication before arrival. Staff generally very friendly and helpful. Beautiful place. Great food. Including generous breakfast.

The bed was a bit soft for our liking, and the shower was warm but very weak flow. The breakfast was problematic on the day we were there, but the staff did their best to get everything moving. We were surprised to find that the bar was closing when we got back before 11 pm.

We had a lovely relaxing stay, the room (4) was lovely ,comfy bed, hospitality tray perfect, and the little complimentry extras ie; shower gel & shampoo was a nice touch. The food was superb Breakfast & evening meals, and the staff were 1st class and so friendly , Thank you Kim Ann & Julie. can't wait for a return visit. Ann without an 'e'..we love you lol :)

Playden Oast is an interesting building, and our room was good. The bed was really comfy. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal in the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. A relaxing place to stay.

The shower could have been better, easier to manoeuvre (we found it difficult to do owing to positioning on shower slider bar) and a bigger head to allow more water through. Only one juice option at breakfast (same all e days) and despite being summer and lots of local strawberries on sale, there were none available with the fruit options at breakfast either... These were small things that would have made our stay excellent.

Breakfast was lovely. Location was good, very near to Rye and surrounding amenities. Walks were in information folder although didn’t have time in our short stay to try them out…… next time we will!

The bedroom was a little tired decor wise. There wasn’t much room in the shower which appeared to be in a cupboard! That said, the shower worked well.

We had a pleasant stay at Playden Oasts House. The hotel is full of character and the location is convenient for visiting the Rye area. We really enjoyed the meals - both breakfast and lunch - and it was great to hang out in the bar area too.

We would have liked to have been able to walk into Rye, but without a footpath all the way (and in light of the wet weather), we decided against trying.

Check in was quick and easy. I liked that I was shown to my room. Room was clean and well presented. Plenty of tea & coffee etc. Ability to use a key drop facility on departure was good. Evening meal was fine. Breakfast was ok.

Wasn't a fan of only having a folding screen in the room to enclose the bath/shower and hand basin. Although there was a separate toilet, didn't like the fact that there was no accompanying hand basin. All hand washing had to be done in the washing facilities in the bedroom. Thought breakfast was too limited for the price.
