The room was spacious. Lovely large windows letting in lots of light. Four poster modern bed which was very comfortable. A large bathroom with standalone bath. It felt luxurious. The location on the High Street was perfect as most restaurants were walking distance. The breakfast was superb. Although the room is over part of the bakery cafe very little could be heard below from the bakery cafe. The bakery breakfast is very healthy and dry good choices including the bakery well known sourdough. Lovely smells of bread baking every morning! Car parking was at public car park 5 mins walk away and only costing 3.00 per night at the time we stayed.
Nothing that I can think of.

The room was lovely, spacious and clean. Check in process after hours very smooth. Coffee machine in room was excellent and tea and bottled water. Shame we didn’t have biscuits though. Bathroom was great but showered leaked onto floor and worry for ceiling below in such an old building. Noisy in the morning as bin day but that’s to be expected as property on high street. Our room was also over the bakery. Nice food smells though! Breakfast was incredible. Served in the bakery / cafe below. Such a lot of food and drink (hot coffee / tea and cold - freshly squeezed juices). Made the room price incredible value for money. Overall really great stay and would stay again!
Bathroom shower leaked all over floor. I was really cold as duvet v thin and blankets thin too. Noisy on bin day but is in centre of town.

Fantastic location, amazing breakfast (mackerel dish is spectacular), warm and friendly staff. Lovely top floor room - nice and spacious double sized room with sleeping and sitting areas and a separate room with a lovely bathtub, toilet etc. Simply furnished - mostly in white of course.
Starting to look a bit tired, so will need a fresh kick of paint at some point. Bathroom sink had slow drainage, so needs the drain cleared. No way to keep the window open behind the bed, so the mug came in useful. A block of wood would be perfect.

Breakfasts were a real treat. Very modern for us and we loved it! Staff very friendly Bed very comfortable and room nice and big with great view. Also very quiet.
The only negative comment I could possibly make is that Rye centre is so inaccessible to cars and the car parks round the base of the hill are so expensive! Unfortunately I arrived with a foot problem which necessitated our early departure (which is why the car parking problem mattered so much!). we also had to shift the car because of the weekly market.

The room was lovely (we had one with a freestanding bath and very dark decor). The staff were what made it feel especially special - everyone was friendly and welcoming. They give you a key and you can just come and go as you please. And the breakfast was DELICIOUS.
Two things worth flagging, although they didn't put me off: there are no lifts and lots of stairs, so keep in mind if you've got lots of carry. And there was no shower, apart from the head over the freestanding bath. Again, I didn't mind, but my boyfriend was a bit miffed about that.

The included breakfast was delicious and much better than alot of hotel breakfasts.
the bed in the room wasn't particularly comfortable and the lighting was way too bright. It should have a more moody vibe for a romantic stay. the Bathroom could have had a more atmospheric light. It was very bright, almost hospital operation room bright! When in the bed you look at a very unattractive wall and door that looks like something from an old, many layers of paint, hostel which is a shame as the place has a very contemporary feel otherwise.

A fabulous place to stay in an excellent location. Whoopie was spacious, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed - bonus points for Tunnocks caramel wafers as the complimentary biscuits! Unlike other reviewers we are very much in favour of a bath rather than just a shower, so the one in this room was lovely and much appreciated. The breakfast options were excellent and generous. All members of staff we engaged with were delightful. All-in-all couldn't fault the Whitehouse and would highly recommend.
Nothing.

We had such a wonderful weekend in Rye with the Whitehouse as our base. It has an excellent location, less then 5 mins walk from the train and situated very centrally on the high street. The room was even bigger than expected, the bed was big and comfortable. Coffee, tea, and water were provided everyday for our room as well as brunch being included daily at the bakery/restaurant below. The brunch menu was absolutely delicious! We also purchased items from the bakery and everything we had was 10/10.
I can't think of anything I would have changed. If I had to nitpick some days we had to wait a little while for a table for breakfast because the restaurant was so busy, but this was expected and explained to us ahead of time. You can just pop downstairs ahead of time and let them know you would like a table soon. I can't think of any complaints for the accomodation, everything was great.

Very central position. Comfortable bed. Tea and coffee making facilities. Lovely breakfast. The tall fan was very useful, as it was very hot while we were there.
Would have been nice to have biscuits with the tea facilities. The design of the bed was strange. It was a modern take on a 4 poster and meant that if you were lying on the side of the bed closest to the door, your view of the TV on the wall was cut in half by one of the posts of the bed. Instructions for the shower would have been helpful. Couldn’t find a switch for a light on the landing when going out in the evening.

Beautiful location and lovely property! Period house. Not one wall or floor is straight. Love it!!
There is nothing, not to like. We found the accommodation, the breakfast and the bakery team really lovely. Very easy to check in. If you arrive after the bakery closes, you will receive instructions for the ‘key locker number’ together with its code to gain access for keys to get into the property and the booked room. Breakfast is held in the bakery. I was tantalised by the array of sourdoughs, pastries and other delights available to buy!
