December 2023

This apartment has been my little Osaka secret for the last 6 months. I've stayed here about 7 times (2-4 weeks at a time) and experienced about 5 of the different apartments in the building. I cannot stress enough how good the location, size and price has been in comparison to hotels across all of Osaka. The space is large and comfortable; some with table and chairs, others with sofas. Check-in is easy, and for some of the apartments remains keyless throughout the whole stay with digital door locks. Kitahama is a clean and quiet neighbourhood in a central part of Osaka with so many restaurants, cafes and bars hidden away. The tranquil Nakanoshima island and park is a few minutes walk away. It's also only a 20 minute walk north to Umeda areas and 30 minute walk south to Shinsaibashi, Dotonbori and Namba; the location is just excellent. If you prefer the metro, Yodoyabashi station is about 6 minutes walk away on Midosuji line (easily connect to Shin-osaka, Umeda and Namba in a few minutes) or Kitahama station is about 3 minutes walk away on Sakaisuji line and Keihan lines (easily connect north and onwards to Kyoto). All the rooms have washing machines, so extended stays are very comfortable. You can dry your clothes on the balcony in Summer, or use the heating function of the shower room. I've truly felt like I was at home during my stays here over the last few months — thank you! I've now moved to Osaka, so won't be needing this apartment and can confidently leave a positive review without it impacting availability on my own booking needs! :D

There was only one room that I requested to change before I started one of my bookings because it was a little shabby round the edges. It seems most of the rooms have had some sort of refurbishment in recent times, but a couple are still waiting their turn. They're still great rooms, but after experiencing so many of them, I was able to compare and request if others were available, especially when staying for a month at a time. A couple of the rooms also didn't have a tech toilet. Not the end of the world, but when in Japan you you've gotta have an exciting toilet!

everything. the accommodation had everything that we needed for 4 nights. washing machine, balcony, basic kitchen appliances, nice bed, etc. it was very near to the station. the owner gave us a detailed info where to exit from station  and how to open door - if you read the email prior to departure, you will find anything. even we brought big luggages during raining, everything was smooth. location was perfect, not so busy but surrounded by good restaurants around and family mart right under. location was center, you could reach every corner Osaka in less than 40minutes.

nothing. small comment maybe to add full length mirror that'd be nice. and iron. but the rest all good. and since there was no reception, it couldnt support to send or receive luggage from other hotels. but since this was our first stay, it didn't bother us

The location was very good - close to transport links and easy walking distance to many different spots. The communication about entry into the property was very detailed and the staff were prompt in responding to any messages. The guides sent via my email were precise and helped in locating the apartment after arriving later at night. The apartment is lovely and has a modern, clean feel to it - it is clearly well taken care of. Amenities such as a washing machine (with detergent), drying room and kitchen with cutlery were greatly appreciated - seems a minor detail but I’ve stayed in similar places where you would have to provide your own detergent/cutlery/plates etc. I travelled with one other friend and for two people we felt it was spacious enough. Great 5-day stay - wouldn’t hesitate to book again or recommend to friends if they were going to Osaka.

The apartment is big and spacious, and liked that the living and sleeping areas are separate from the kitchen and bathroom. The bed was super comfortable, and loved having a little kitchenette, a few more items would have been useful but it has the basics and there’s a washing machine (bonus: powder is provided!) I didn’t try the clothes drying machine in the bathroom but would be handy and the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The location is great - I felt very safe as a solo female traveller coming back at night, and there’s an entrance code and then a door code. I bought a metro pass and had easy access to 2 lines from this place. Exit 27 has an elevator so that was easier for me and my luggage. The Familymart downstairs was useful for early morning or late night snacks.

I’m a light sleeper and found the walls thin as I could hear the neighbours who were back late 1-2am and you could hear the cars on the mainroad, so bring earplugs.

The apartment has been recently renovated. Location wise: 7 mins walk from Yodobashi station which can take a Midosuji Line to Shin-Osaka, main station. The area is in the office areas so really quiet and safe. There is a Family Mart literally next to the building. There are 7-eleven and lawson around the corners too. The check-in and check-out process was super smooth. The owner messaged us via booking and ensured everything is okay. The size of the room was much bigger than we anticipated — plenty of space to relax after a day of exploring the city. The bathroom was a real standout. It was not only spotlessly clean and modern, but it also had a function to heat up clothes — such a game-changer. Plus, having a washing machine inside the apartment made it super convenient for a longer stay. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need if you feel like cooking instead of eating out. It really felt like a home away from home. On top of all that, the price was much more affordable than staying in a hotel in Osaka, but without sacrificing any comfort. Honestly, it felt like an incredible deal for the value offered. Would absolutely stay here again next time if we are in Osaka.

The apartment was clean and while the location is certainly not central, but is in a quiet, easily accessible area of the city. I appreciated having a washing machine and small kitchenette.

As is mentioned in other reviews, the pillows were very flat and uncomfortable. (With so many mentions of this issue, it seems like a low cost fix to simply put extra pillows in the units' closets.) The kitchenette was clean, but there were no kitchen knives or skillet to take advantage of the facilities. I see the responses that say we could have had them delivered if we had contacted the host. However, there was no indication of this option in the room itself and because there is no on-site staff, it does not seem like an intuitive thing to do.

Best accommodation we've had in our 2-week trip in Japan and would definitely re-book this place if ever we visit Osaka. The apartment's size is really big, just like a one-bedroom apartment. There was a closet where you could store your clothes or suitcases. They even had a stove in case you need it though we didn't use it at all during out stay, but just wanted to say that this apartment has it all! Most importantly, you can find more than one metro line nearby, so to get around from here is super easy - even there is a direct metro line just 3-5 min walking from the apartment that takes you to Kyoto. There is also a Family Mart downstairs.

Nothing I can think of.

Firstly, this place isn't formally staffed, but the people I interacted with via the Booking app were lovely. Very communicative, patient and easygoing. The room is small but great layout. In previous Japan trips I stayed in hostels and this place was a great upgrade as I wanted access to a kitchen. Ostay had two good-sized beds, a kitchen, bathroom, and laundry. Situated in a quiet location between Yoyodabashi and Kitahama stations.

There is a convenience store in the street, but supermarkets are a bit further away. The entrance to the building can be a little tricky to find. Underneath the beds were a little dusty but everything else about the apartment was clean. PLEASE remember to sign out of your streaming services on the TV! (Not a complaint. Just a PSA)

We stayed for 10 nights and it was lovely to have so much space in the apartment after being in a small hotel room in Tokyo. The location was ideal and the apartment is between two subway stations and right beside a Family Mart. There are some nice restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk from the apartment too. The apartment is very safe and there is a code to enter the building. I had read reviews of people saying they couldn’t get in to the building and being locked out etc and we didn’t have any problems entering and the door opened the first time we entered the code every time. It was handy having a code for the apartment door too and not have to worry about carrying a key around.

The bed is very hard and makes a lot of noise any time you move. Towels and bed covers aren’t changed during the stay but you can ask for new sheets and towels if you need them but we just used the washing machine in the apartment when we needed to.

Hey, After struggling for close to 2 weeks to find a nice flat. Finding Imano Osaka Shinsaibashi was like divine gift. Communication worked superb. The flat was clean, the room was big. Enjoyed the big window by the balcony. No need for tedious check-in, you can just do it yourself. The internet is fast - which was important as I held international meetings for my work. Can 100% recommend. And when I com back to Osaka, I'll definitely rebook. Thank you! Best Baris
