Fantastic place! Super clean and cosy hostel with very nice staff and everything you need (kitchen ware, coffee, tea, small self service bar, laundry, board games, music instruments… you can’t even imagine how well equipped this place is!). Japan style room has really comfortable futons and nice vibe! Hostel is perfectly located, next to the two train stations (2 train stops from Kyoto main station!) and next to an amazing Fushimi Inari temple. 24/7 Lawson shop and many restaurants are just around the corner. Definitely the best hostel I have ever been to!
Nothing, all was 10/10

Best place ever. Affordable and cozy. Location is very near to 2 train lines: one heading to nara and another to Kyoto. Is very near of one of the 'must see' attractions from Kyoto. The place is cool, the smoking area is mesmerizing, it's near convenience stores and restaurants. This place is a 10, but I will leave some issues for improvement: * Internet connection is bad sometimes, * The bath upstairs is great, but there is an air current very cold inside of it. In winter it is not nice, but there is a bath on the first floor that is MAGNIFICENT! * The pillows are great, but thin. 2 pillows per bed would make it perfect.

We loved everything from the social area to the rooms to the bathrooms. There is a social area downstairs and one upstairs. We didn't use the upstairs one, but really enjoyed the downstairs one. They also have pictures that you can color in and two cool fish tanks. They had a free water dispenser there and a place to make coffee and tea for ¥200. They also have small fridge with alcohol that you can get for ~¥200. Another plus is they have umbrellas that you can borrow in case it's raining (it was when we came) They have a washer and dryer located outside but in a secure area that you could use. Also about ¥200 if I remember correctly. The host was very nice and answered any questions we had. Towels are located downstairs and you can grab them when you need them. The entrance was secured with a code and so were the rooms which was very nice. It's also also located very close to Fushimi Inari, many restaurants, and two train stations. This was by far our favorite guesthouse to stay at in Japan and I highly recommend.
Nothing, very nice place.

This place is a true hidden gem. Firstly, the location - it is just a stone's throw from Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine, which gives you great opportunity to visit it very early or after dark. There are also two train stations in the vicinity (Keihan and JR), so getting around was no trouble at all. The only issue were crowds near Fushimi Inari, but thats a given. In the rather quiet neighborhood you can find some restaurants, convenience stores and even a supermarket. The place itself has 4 floors and a roof terrace with nice view. Our room was a traditional japanese style tatami room, it was rather spacious, the futons were super comfortable, power outlets plenty and even a desk with a chair found its place in the corner. There was a common area for guests on my floor, which had 2 shower rooms, one toilet and kitchenette with table. It was always very clean. Besides that, on the ground floor near the lobby, there is another common area, similarily equipped, but also has a tatami-kotatsu space for chilling, interacting with other guests or reading (a whole bookshelf of manga available!). Staff was very kind and helpful. There are free towels, and you can do your laundry here. I stayed there for two whole weeks, and I can't really say a bad word! If I will be staying in Kyoto anytime in the future, I will definately be staying here!

The location was really good, very close to a train that takes you to the main sites. The common areas, kitchen and bathroom were clean, new, spacious and with good vibes. We also appreciated the balcony (also smoking area) in the same floor as the room. The bathroom and kitchen is only shared with another room so it feels more private. The staff were friendly and helpful, they kept our bags for free for 2 weeks :)
The room was on a 4th floor and it doesn't have elevator, so if your luck is bad you might face the same issue. The stairs were small and it was hard to take our suitcases. Also the size of the room was very very tiny, we couldn't open a suitcase without having to close one of the futon beds. The futon were a bit uncomfortable but like any other futon in Japan

Everything. Just spectacular all around. Really cozy, and you get your very own tatami room. Great value, and close to the station and fushimi inari. Friendly staff. Calligraphy workshop!?! :D Clean, well-maintained kitchen and bathrooms. Every floor also has their own kitchen, so you can choose whether you want some privacy or if you want to head down and socialize.
It would have been nice with free coffee. Considering how great everything was, it felt sort of cheap to charge extra for the coffee (with camera surveillance making sure you paid? What)

The location is excellent, 5 mins away from Keisei Inari and 10 mins from JR Inari stations. From there you can get to Kyoto station in less than 10 mins, so you can use the inn as a home base from where to visit all the Kansai area and beyond! There's a lot of fantastic places to eat nearby, from ramen shops to japanese style burgers. The lodging is great. Sleeping on the tatami floor is comfortable and did wonders for my back. Each room has an AC that can warm up or cool the room really well. There's ACs in the hallway and common areas too. The facilities are great as well. There was a common kitchen on our floor with all the appliances you need. We were able to use it to store and warm up our bento meals in the morning. We stayed on the 3rd floor and only had to share the bathroom and toilet with another room, which wasn't really an issue. The inn has a coin laundry and coin dryer and there's a small balcony on the 3rd floor for smoking and with a small but sufficient drying rack. Overall a fantastic experience. I definitely recommend this place!
Tbh, nothing I didn't like. It was all good. If I ever had any issues e.g. to ask for more towels, I simply used the booking.com app to chat with the staff. They were kind and responded fast.

The location was just great, very close to the only thing I actually wanted to see during my short stay in Kyoto. Also very close to train stations and convenience store. I liked that despite arriving early, I could rest in the lobby, use the toilet, have a drink and store my luggage securely before checking in. The staff at reception was very friendly and helpful. The price is also budget friendly. The whole inn is very well equipped, they clearly thought of everything and everyone. Chargers for all devices, iron, fridge, etc, you can ask for anything, they will surely have it or get it for you. :) It also seems to be family friendly, colouring pencils, musical instruments were also provided for guests. I am happy to recommend this place!
Unfortunately my room faced the road and it was a bit noisy and bright at night. I only noticed in the morning that earplugs would have been available at the reception area. Maybe a blackout blind would be beneficial, too. The staircase was very narrow, making it very difficult to transfer a big luggage upstairs.

The location is perfect if you are wanting to really experience Fushimi Inari Shrine. I recommend staying here so that you can visit at night and early in the morning - it is a completely different experience! The shared spaces were calm and private but with a great sense of community, and the rooms were wonderfully authentic. Bathrooms and kitchen were so clean! The staff went above and beyond to help me, as I had personal emergencies that complicated my booking. I am so very grateful for their calm and kind communication and generosity. Despite them not knowing the details of my problem, they really cheered me up :)

The area and the staff there were great. The room, bathroom and shower were all clean. Those all get top marks from me.
As for being comfortable, I will have to say that the bed was the most uncomfortable futon I have used on this trip. We've been here a month and I've gotten to try a few of them, I slept fine on them, and it was definitely the worst. I barely slept as I was so uncomfortable the entire night. While I would recommend the place in general. I would be hesitant to recommend it if you have any issues with your back or your knees.
