The location is great, a short walk from Gion. We also enjoyed the jacuzzi bath, it's very small but nice. Every day between 18 and 20 you can get a free drink in the breakfast area, after a long day of walking and sweating this was wonderful!

I know we're in japan and the rooms are small, but this was really over the top. We got a room for 4 people, there were literally 4 mattresses in a row on the floor and nowhere to move, it was really exaggerated. If you're with 4 people, please bear this in mind before booking!! Also the view was a brick wall, not that great either...

Luckily I had a big corner room. View was excellent facing main road. There was space to open luggage (unlike my stays at tokyo hotels). Breakfast spread was amazzzing! So much choice. Very very tasty. Variety every day. The majority staff were nepali. Could speak to them in their language. So i felt at home even in a foreign country. Kiyomizo Dera is 15 min walk uphill

Nearest bus stop is the gojo yamato oji which had connectivity to kyoto station but only once in 30 min. The Kawamachi gojo bus stop was 10 min away. So dragging the luggage was a headache. In between us the kiyomizo gojo train station connected to the keihan line. Regretably the subway doesnot intersect here. Nearest subway (karasuma line) is Gojo station which is very very far (15 min walk). So connectivity is an issue...just in case you have heavy luggage to carry.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel in Kyoto. I can confidently say that my experience was nothing short of perfection. From the impeccable location to the cleanliness and kindness of the staff, every aspect exceeded my expectations. First and foremost, the hotel's location is simply unbeatable. Situated in the heart of a beautiful historical town, it offers a captivating atmosphere that truly immerses you in the rich culture and traditions of Kyoto. I highly recommend taking a walk around the area, as you'll discover hidden gems and stunning sights at every turn. Speaking of the hotel itself, the level of cleanliness was outstanding. Moreover, the kindness and hospitality shown by the hotel staff were exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed and well taken care of. In addition, the hotel's amenities added an extra touch of luxury to my stay. The complimentary drinks and access to the sauna were delightful perks that I thoroughly enjoyed. They provided a great opportunity to unwind and relax after a busy day of sightseeing. And let's not forget about the breakfast! The quality and variety of options ensured that there was something to please every palate. Should I have the opportunity to return to Kyoto in the future, I will undoubtedly choose to stay here again.

This hotel is very traditional Japanese style (except the futon is a very comfortable mattress, on a base, on the floor). We managed to get a room on the 6th floor, which was so special for our honeymoon. The room was complete with Tatami flooring, stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and included breakfast buffet each morning. We witnessed a beautiful red sunset on our first night, and we could see Kyoto tower all light up. It was so magical. I loved this room, I loved the hotel, and the staff were fantastic. We were close to the train station and had multiple bus stations. This hotel is only 20 minutes away from Gion by bus.

Newer facility, with an excellent breakfast, comfortable bedding, wonderful amenities for the price, close to a bus stop, not too far from a train stop, we could purchase day tickets at the hotel for bus and train,many landmarks were within walking distance, the Osen and sauna were amazing after a long day seeing sights! it was like a honeymoon! We were there midweek so we had the Osen to ourselves most of the time. We looked forward to getting back to our hotel as much as I looked forward to visiting historic landmarks! We bought dinner one night that was very good!!Otherwise we enjoyed the”Happy Hour” soft drinks, tea, candies, rice and curry! The staff was excellent! Arthur spoke fluent English and gave us excellent travel help and suggestions!

Room is small but has a table and chairs, does not have much space for storing clothes, but it had a refrigerator! The beds were harder than we were used to but we slept very well especially with the soft covers! No view out the window. Any negatives were outweighed by many positives! We loved it!

For 1 person I had a spacious room with 2 single beds, the bed was comfortable. The staff was very nice.

Personally speaking the location wasn’t that great. You have at least 5 minutes of walking to the closest bus stop, for the bus or subway lines linked to main sightseeing spots you need to walk 7-10 minutes. Note that the closest subway Keihan is not included in the one day pass (strongly suggested), if you are purchasing it. The cleaning was ok but it could be more accurate, the third spare bed was full of dust and the cups weren’t cleaned after usage.

This place made my trip to Kyoto even more fabulous. 100% comfort, super clean, a lovely bed, large room, great stuff helping me with lots of information like where to eat the best Kobe beef around Kyoto for a good price and not to forget the toilet... :) The public bath is also great, do try it! The breakfast is fantastic, the perfect occasion to taste many Japanese foods. The location is amazing, within walking distance from the main spots and also the metro. I liked it so much that I extended my stay with one night. I can't wait to come back to Japan and I would definitely stay here again.

The room had a very traditional feel to it with all the modern appliances and amenities we needed. The aircon was a lifesaver in the summer heat! We hadn’t expected the room to be so spacious when booking which was an added bonus to our stay. Location was also convenient! Situated close to Kiyomizu Dera (beautiful buddhist temple up the road) and Kiyomizu Gojo Station was also within walking distance. The staff were very helpful, accommodating, and friendly!

The staff at the front desk were extremely personable, always available, and able to help with any issues. I always felt catered for especially when I had to ask them for extra assistance with an issue. The rooms were clean, with nice sleepwear and good cleaning service. Blinds allowed natural light in. There was a small manga library in the lobby. The elevators were also satisfyingly fast.

The coin laundry was located in the shared baths but access to them required exchanging room key for bath key due to density requirements. This made it awkward to do laundry if you did not also wish to bathe at the same time. The rooms, although large enough for personal use, did not have enough space to place a full sized luggage on the floor.

Everything was more than amazing, we booked a Japanese style double room; it was so nice and comfortable, beds are comfy and clean, the room has all the facilities one might need. Staff were wonderful; welcoming and smiling. Location is excellent; just beside Kiyomizudera temple and the renovated museum, there are plenty of supermarkets, souvenir stores, and drug stores. Subway station (Kiyomizu Gojo station) is just a 3 mins walk and Kyoto main station is just 20 mins walk.
