Perfect location within walking distance of downtown Minocqua with places to eat and an excellent coffee-brew place next door with an awesome patio. There is a basic breakfast in the morning with breads, pastries, potatoes, sausage and eggs and juices and other eateries. Parking is abundant. There is an indoor pool with whirlpool, but our time was limited and did not get a chance to use it. While this hotel is on Hwy 51 which is a major road leading to other towns with endless truckers and cars, we had a very quiet night with comfy pillows and mattress.

Not sure if it was mentioned on the site but there is no elevator so if mobility (or you have heavy luggage) is an issue request a first floor room. We did that on arrival when we realized no elevator and were pleasantly accommodated.

Breakfast was simple but had quite a few options available. Location is perfect and easy to enter and leave parking.

Bathroom could have been updated, no fan and toilet was wobbly. Pool area was ok, but tile issues near hot tub.

Very close to downtown within walking distance. And we didn't hear other guests slamming g doors or kids running down the hallways. Very good.

The bathroom was too small. The lighting was very dim in the evenings my husband likes alot of lights on.

The stay was very good. The desk staff was excellent and took care of all of our needs promptly. The breakfast in the lobby is very nice, good coffee! We have stayed at the American Inn many times and will continue to stay here when we are in Minocqua. We were up for the busy July 4th weekend and the staff was excellent in taking care of the many guests at the hotel. We need a first floor room and the desk was sure we got one. We needed to extend our stay and that was not a problem either.

Bathrooms are somewhat small.

The woman who checked us in around 10pm on May 28th was fantastic. We originally hadn't planned to be traveling with a puppy, but when we got there she ensured we were right by the door on the first floor so we could easily take her out at night. She was super friendly, helpful, got our trailer parking figured out (easy - they have a great big lot perfect for parking boats and trailers) and was very accommodating. They have a nice big lawn with fire pits and picnic tables and the rooms were great. Location can't be beat! Thanks guya

The ease of being able to walk to and from town.

I was disappointed we couldn't see out our window that well. I think the seal on the window in our room was broken. The window should be replaced. I didn't see any other windows with this issue.

Breakfast was OK. Eggs were good, sausage was Ok, biscuits when heated were good. The juice bar was full. The hours for breakfast were more than adequate.

Beds were acceptable, pillows were too hard and full.

location is amazing and staff is receptive and supportive.

it is a little run down. get’s lots of tread so hallways don’t appear super clean and rooms could use some updates. No usb and not enough working plugs for charging. stayed a couple times and rooms were different one much cleaner and brighter. it is super pricey for what it is - but that’s supply and demand in the summer!

I love the whirlpool inside the room its so relaxing🥰.The bed is so confortable.

I just have a suggestion that the carpet should wet vacuum because the dust is visible.

Very clean facility with a great continental breakfast (lots of good options). Very clean pool area.

The room only had decaf coffee. Sauna and bathroom in pool area were "out of order".
