Clean, comfortable room, good air-conditioning, polite and helpful staff, surrounding green areas with picnic benches, small but excellent bagel/breakfast restaurant at the end of the parking lot.

No hairdryer in room, no mini-fridge, vending machine malfunctioned and the hotel could not provide a refund. Of course, this is not a great issue, as you're probably better off buying drinks from one of the nearby gas stations or shops.

Good facilities, dog friendly, lots of lawn space.

My only problem was that I called ahead to assure I was getting a 1st floor room and that I was in the same room both nights and although the worker on the phone said they would make sure that was accommodated, and that I needed to pay more for the double bed 1st floor room, so I did pay extra, and when I arrived they only gave me a 2nd floor room and separated the room stays. My mom cannot visit or go upstairs easily. Later they said I can stay in the room both nights if I ask at the desk next day but that I had to take the second floor since they were full. So I paid extra for nothing. Basically they said they couldn't help me because I booked through a third party, booking.com. at the desk and during my stay they were very nice though.

Clean room Bed was excellent - best one I had on this trip. Nice and firm. Room was very quiet, especially considering there was a family with young children right next door & I did not hear them at all throughout the night. Several good restaurants were nearby.

Price - but it was one of the better prices for a motel/hotel room in the area.

We had a lovely stay. Exceeded our expectations. Very clean and quiet. Perfect one night stay!

The staff was friendly; but I felt that they could have been more attentive; the girls were talking with each other when we came in. But the lady did come to make sure the new card she gave us worked. (The first time we tried to get in our room, the card didn’t work!)

The room was spacious and clean. There was a frig and microwave to use. Supplies were provided. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The bathroom is very small. As an older building, the soundproofing is not the best. Some students in the next room were loud. I could have asked for another room, but I always travel with earplugs, so it was fine.

I booked at the Red Roof Inn because evaluations on Booking.com rated it higher than several competing hotels. I was not disappointed, and management helped with rescheduling my visit.

Reception was slow, due to multiple customers appearing at about the same time with complicated issues. Just the luck of the day.

It was well maintained. They had a picnic table on the lawn where you could smoke away from the rooms. Also had a couple of benches outside the rooms for smokers.

Everything was fine. Location was close to the thruway and downtown Utica.

The room smelled freshly cleaned and everything worked. The bed truly was king size, thank you.

No refrigerator in room. Unfortunately we were traveling a long distance and we had food that could have been put in a fridge overnight. We got ice from the machine for our cooler, so we were able to keep everything cool.

It was close to the highway exit but you couldn’t hear the traffic. The room was small but clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I was even surprised that the bed was comfortable. That one is hard for me to find a hotel bed I’m comfortable in. We left our pillows and when we realized it and called, they had them sitting at the front desk and didn’t just toss them away. very appreciative of that.

The format of the bathroom was extremely small and not very well thought out. When you walked into the bathroom you had to do a dance just to turn around and close the door. And I am not a fan of having the sink and mirror outside of the bathroom. I was more readily accommodating of that then the size and bad design though.

Super clean rooms, well cared for grounds. Staff very friendly, accommodating and "comfortable". We were there for a week with our pets while waiting to close on our home. I was comfortable enough with the cleanliness of the bathrooms to even enjoy many soaks in the tub. Most of the floors were hard surface, which also helps with the clean feeling and zero smells.

The outdoor spaces (railings and stairs) had lots of cobwebs and could have used some love.
