The room was spacious compared to any hotel you will find in the city. You can stay at top end hotels in Times Square and have very minimal space. Staff was amazing, location to city was great, and hotel provides a place to pick up snacks, food and has complimentary water and coffee which is great. There are two train stations nearby.

When booking this trip (months in advance) the reviews were great, price was great however, what was not said is that to the right of property which is key spot to get the 7 train to Manhattan is a migrant shelter which is ALL men. It is very intimidating and can be scary for solo female travelers or older travelers who are unaware of that shelter. These men stand out all day and stare at you as you walk by, and you just have to be aware of your surroundings. We didn't experience any issues, just wanted to warn other travelers. I believe all of the rooms face the train, so if you're a light sleeper (like my wife) you'll be awoken throughout the night, but nothing some earplugs can't help.

The room was exceptionally clean and the staff beyond friendly. But what sets this hotel apart is the incredible place for the great location, on the way to subway (number 7 and G are the closest) you literally find yourself in from of an amazing view of the Empire State Building. The location is unmatchable for the price, really. Two subway stops and you are in Manhattan, and quickly to Brooklyn as well. I was traveling alone (female) and I went to the hotel a few evenings alone from the subway and I felt safe. If you prefer, the city is obviously fully serviced by any possible car/cab service. Loved it!

Nothing, I liked everything.

A modestly priced hotel in what is basically an industrial area of Queens. Large room, fairly comfortable bed, good selection of toiletries an excellent choice at breakfast. A ten minute walk to the subway which will take you to mid-town Manhattan in about 15 minutes.

The hotel is next to a busy railway line with trains running during the day and night. You might need earplugs if you have a room on this side of the hotel, or you might just get used to the trains and sleep soundly anyway. Don’t let this put you off staying here.

The breakfast was great, it kept us full for our day at the city. The room was very spacious, which was a plus since we stayed for 12 days (first room we were given was pretty tight, though, but we changed). 3 or 4 USB plugs, so you don't need any adaptors. The staff is really adorable and ready to help. They changed our light bulb within minutes. The store with the snacks is super convenient, and rather cheap for a light dinner. Free coffee, tea and water all day. This is a real VFM!

The area is industrial, so no colour at all around the hotel. Check the googlemaps, it is pretty explicit. Not at all sketchy, though. We never felt in danger or anything. As other have mentionned, the noise of the trains is considerable, but after those long days at the city you won't even notice, you'll be too tired. Bring earplugs for the first days! The three metro stations around are 10-15 min walk but they'll take you straight to Times Square in 3 or 4 stops. Check the area around the Court Square metro. There are plenty of places to eat or have a coffee, plus a diner which is open 27/7 with decent food in decent prices. A Target and a big asian supermarket nearby will cover any need.

The hotel was well located next to several subway stations (I'd recommend Court sq especially at night). Breakfast was good and service really nice. All hotel staffs were really nice and helpful. The small supermarket in the hall + free tea and coffee are really convenient.

We could hear the train and noise from outside in the room. The duvets weren't hot enough. Cleaneliness is average.

Relatively good location, if we look for similar options, and proximity from Manhattan this is a good choice. Very confortable beds and the staff was superb. Relatively easy to get in/out of the Hotel one line and you're in 42-Grand Central.

A/C way too noisy, a lot of exterior noise from the train tracks, there could be a better isolation or offer earplugs for guesses during the check-in process, I been in other noisy cities and earplugs have always been offered to me. Bathrooms are crazy cold, like tombstone colds, there should be a better way to keep them warmer, as the temperature in the bathroom compared to the room beds was too big for it to be comfortable. Location, even though the location is good enough from Manhattan still a big far from the walking train stations or bus stops, this later being a bit better.

The hotel is very accommodating. The check-in starts at 3pm, but we arrived around 12:30pm. The gentleman who checked us in was very nice and even upgraded our room into a bigger one since the room I booked is not ready yet. The hotel has a complimentary free hot drinks in the foyer area and also has a mini grocery store just in case you need food/drinks without needing to buy outside. The housekeeping team were brilliant and helpful. And the hotel has this nice smell, too. They also allowed us to leave our luggages after we checked out since our flight was late in the evening. Thank you very much.

The hotel is in Queens, close to two subway stations, which give access to several important lines that connect to Manhattan and the surrounding area (including JFK Airport). Some of these lines pass in front of the hotel, which makes the area a little noisy. People who are very sensitive to noise may have trouble sleeping at night. Although it's rare in New York, coffee was included in the room rate at this hotel. And it was good, with enough to get the day off to a good start. Although simple, the room has a TV and a minibar. Room service is daily and well done. There is a coffee machine and hot and cold water available at all times near reception. There is a minibar with refrigerated products available for purchase (yogurt, juice, sandwiches, ice cream...). The staff are friendly and respond quickly to requests. By NY standards, this is good value for money.

But despite the noise of the subways near the hotel, we spent a good night and had a restful sleep.

Location is close to 3 different metro/train stations and takes cca 10mins to get to each of them. Breakfast was pleasant surprise for us and was great meal to start a day. And its free! People in kitchen were friendly and polite. Room had everything we need and was cleaned on daily basis. Clean and nice for every day stay.

It you are located on train-rails side, you might hear noise from trains depending on how deep you sleep. I guess the other side is much quieter. Also, towards Hunter Point station some folks are “strange” but that has nothing to do with hotel.

hotel was clean. Reception was helpful. A small issue with the room was fixed the same day. Complimentary breakfast was provided which was helpful given the hotel's location. Good variety of restaurants and access to the waterfront around a mile away from hotel

Room was quite small. The location is awkward. Although it's not far from the subway station there is NOTHING in the immediate vicinity. Everything is over 10 mins walk, even Starbucks. The large groups of males on the street by the hotel could cause unease, although they were quiet and did not disturb passers by as far as I noticed.
