The historic charm, the property really represents old Vegas as it is Vegas's oldest operating hotel and casino "not the first". The style has a Knotts Berry farm feel to it, so I'm a fan. I like the old fashioned decor and it is a compact micro hotel. So not a lot of walking. It isn't an old outdated oversized behemoth of a property like the Sahara or the Rio. And it is located in the very heart of the Fremont St experience which keeps me very entertained for free. The guests seem to be a mostly older and mature crowd. where as the D Hotel attracts a lot of heavy drinking trashy tourists. No resort fees!

For it's value, I really can't complain. But there is certainly is more room for improvement. However if the owners invested more money into the property, then the already reasonable rates would increase. It would be cool if the whole staff had the same uniforms from 1932.

Location was great. Right on Freemont street. Quick walk to many restaurants and Walgreens. Room was spacious and price was great!

The room I had was above the street, sometimes I could hear street sounds, but it wasn't bad enough for me to not want to stay there again.

Perfect location. Can be a bit noisy at night since right next Fremont street Experience. Overall great stay!

The rooms have no extras but all the necessities -- including luggage rack, air conditioner, hair dryer, ironing board & iron, toiletries -- and all in a charmingly retro style right down to the antique dial phone and bakelite radio. There's a great cafe on the main floor, a fine Deli even in the small hours, and a steak house if you want it. The gambling machines that occupy the rest of the main floor were a colourful surprise, but not worrisome. And the covered historic pedestrian street outside, known as "The Fremont Experience", is both immensely entertaining and a refuge from the sun.

My shin is still recovering from the projecting corners of the platform beds! And my first room on the second floor regularly felt as if it was about to launch into space, the vibration from the subwoofers in the street outside got so intense -- thus the low prices! (The subwoofers stopped some time after midnight, and for my upgraded room on the third floor were barely audible.) For some people the gambling machines and their patrons might look worrisome, but they were all very intent on their business.

Old school Las Vegas. My room was small and basic but clean, and comfortable. You could walk right out onto on Fremont st. I got what I paid for and was satisfied with the value. Staff was friendly. Basic, but fine. Loved the historical feel and the stories of paranormal experiences added a little sense of adventure to the stay. I ate at both the Cafe and Benny's BBQ. Both were good.

Little noisy from the Fremont st craziness, but the air conditioner helped eliminate the annoyance. 2 nights in a row I heard a loud thud in my room (258) around 3am. Maybe something paranormal?

Convenient parking, refrigerator, comfortable bed,and helpful staff. Given free slot play at their players club. Ended up winning some money. The a/c system worked very well and the shower had adequate pressure and warm water. Location fantastic close to all downtown casinos and attractions. A post office is also very nearby. The Apache has a good restaurant and lots of gaming machines and gaming options. My room was right across from the elevator so going back and forth was a breeze. So there's a lot to like.

Thin walls that allow everyone to hear each other. Could hear everyone next door and outside.

Friendly staff both on hotel and casino/associated properties. Charming decor and features that give it that lovely historic feel with just the right amount of kitsch with the haunted aspect. Great value and location, super convenient. Really love no resort fees.

Had plenty of lotion and shampoo, but only one bottle of conditioner. Could have asked for more, not an issue but the mismatch seemed weird. Water pressure was okay but would be nice to be a ronger. My partner heard neighbours talking loudly at night - but guessing better soundproofing isn't possible without ruining asthetic.

The guy at reception was really nice and I appreciated his honesty that it would be noisy (St Patrick's day) but that my room was as quiet as they could offer (it was fine with the AC unit acting as white noise and ear plugs). The room was really clean. The location was right in the middle of everything and the entrance felt safe for a solo female arriving alone on foot. The bus stop to the airport was right outside too.

You don't need a card to use the elevators to rooms so anyone could be in the corridors in theory. The room, though clean was smallish and dark.

great location, right on Fremont street. the room had all necessities for a short stay.

the room seems a bit outdated. I could hear the outside noise in the room, so you can imagine the proximity to Fremont street wasn’t really enjoyable during the night.

Great location with good transport links and pedestrianised areas. Vegas was cold while I was there and I liked that I could turn the heating up in my room nice and high. They were generous with the amount of toiletries.

Quite basic without and tea or coffee in the room, but still great value for the price I paid. I would have also liked warmer bedding.
