Location was awesome. The restaurant too. I wasn’t even expecting any food options and the restaurant is 5 stars! Room decor was nice and comfortable. Nice common areas with comfortable seating.

The AC had an issue our second night but the staff were able to address it. It does make a clicking noise when it starts and stops. Shower water pressure could be better

We could get our room earlier than 3PM. Friendly staff. Free parking. So many restaurants were just for a few minutes walk. Quiet and calm area.

No breakfast option in the hotel. The restaurants have a weird open hour. They are opening around 11AM, closing at 2 or 3PM and reopen after 4 or 5 PM. But almost everything is closing at 8-9PM.

Attractive and comfortable rooms. The public space are also airy and appealing. The location was very convenient (though a bit noisy due to proximity to Route 1) to town and to Bowdoin College. Coffee was set out early each morning and we enjoyed a drink in the bar in the newly opened restaurant in the evening.

There was some confusion about whether we had one or two queen beds in our room, but I'll chalk that up to the place just (re)opening. You might call the property to confirm the type of room you think you're getting, just to be on the safe side.

The room was spacious, allowing for plenty of room to accommodate my husband and I, teenager, and a dog. Room was clean, fresh, and cozy. Check in was quick. And their restaurant served delicious food. Location is a short walk to Maine St.

No real complaints. The place is very inviting. A continental breakfast would have been nice, because we enjoyed the space, just some fruit, pastries, juice and coffee. (They did serve coffee in the morning.)

Excellent housekeeping. The reception desk was consistently courteous and responsive. comfortable and clean.

The restaurant was only open for dinner, and then only 5 days of the week. Because it was popular with locals, reservations were required, so opportunity to eat there without planning that is difficult on a vacation. Limited choices for breakfast locally as many breakfast places were open only 5 days a week. It was a constant and frustrating search for food! A full service hotel should offer guests more.

The location is good and I like the ample parking. Having the restaurant 555 North in the hotel is a definite plus.

The absence of a breakfast buffet was a little disappointing. I didn't feel inclined to order a bagged breakfast to pick up at the front desk.

It would have been better to have some breakfast available—-even just self service cereal, rolls ( heat your own), juice, yogurt. There was coffee available, but we had to get in the car to go find a place for breakfast.

Great location.

Staff was stuffy and for an upscale hotel it fell short. The main floor where you came and went smelled like fish and not in a good way. The bathroom has not been upgraded and is still an old tub with cheap surround. Bed was just okay.

The Federal was a beautiful hotel with lovely art work and a cosy comfortable foyer. The rooms were equally good. comfortable beds, spotlessly clean and with well designed bathrooms. The staff were friendly and helpful and were very welcoming.

We would have really appreciated to have had a tea/coffee making facility in our room as we had to come in late each night ,too late to take advantage of the tea/coffee maker on offer during the day on third floor.
