Liked our updated 508 room. Nice cool air-conditioned room right when we walked in. Comfortable bed. Liked the long mirror being close to kitchen sink and outlets and love the light in the mirror. New carpet was a plus. Great free breakfast and pool.

Room needed more outlets. Wish all lamps had a plug for charging electronics. Mirror light in bathroom was flashing, maybe needs repair or battery. Hate the shower doors only being half doors, and shower doesn't drain since it's not on a slant. Would have been nice to have 2 large bath towels as 2 adults stayed in the room. One towel was large and pushed, and the other was small and thin.

It was an excellent location for my needs. I enjoyed the array of hot breakfast options. I particularly liked the individual character of the facility and the unique, inviting, elegant, decidedly non-generic decor in public spaces. My bed had four pillows…different firmness/filling options. Staff was friendly, professional, efficient and knowledgeable. Got a kick out of the good-natured snack “bribe” option for writing a review. I wasn’t traveling with children but it definitely appeared to be both per and child-friendly.

Appreciate that the “Waffle” station for breakfast is located away from the main breakfast path, since making waffles is a time investment…but wish there had been plates available there as well…and a little counter/table space for people to balance their other breakfast choices while awaiting the “done” beeps (-;..could see that presented a consistent challenge in that location

I loved the charm of this place. There are so many artifacts & interesting antiques around the property. For instance there are actual Chiluli glass artworks hanging from the glass peaks in the entrance. The staff was very friendly. Check in was smooth. The pool & spa were very clean & nice to swim in. Plenty of parking too

It’s old. It’s in desperate need of an update. Paint is chipping, wallpaper is peeling. The carpet needs to be replaced. There’s duct tape covering cracks on the floor in the elevator. The wall sconces turn on & off randomly. Keep the relics & the charm but new carpet & paint would go a long way

The bed: Not too hard, & no evidence of the small crawly creatures that seem to be in reviews for every hotel within shouting distance of the ISU campus.

One of my fraternity brothers has to use a walker to get around, due to a car accident a year ago. I saw signs by the lobby which indicated that there are a couple of areas where renovations are being made. I hope one of the changes will be to make the breakfast area ADA-compliant, as it was a struggle for my fraternity brother (as well as other guests w/walkers) to get to/from the breakfast room.

The pool and hot tub were wonderful, pretty, and clean! There are plenty of towels in the pool area, nice lounge chairs, and seating. The newly renovated shower in the room was fantastic, but I wish the shower glass door was longer, so no water splashed on the floor. Cool bathroon mirror light and night light. Nice, big towels! The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the rug was clean, and the air conditioning in the room worked very well. Great blackout shades on the window! Felt safe in the hotel as all the doors needed key cards for access. Great free breakfast!!

We stayed in room 312. Thought each room had a fridge, ours did not, so that was disappointing.There were not enough pillows. We had one standard sized pillow and two smaller, square pillows for two people. There were not any extra pillows in the closet area, and the front desk did not have any more to give out since the hotel was sold out that night. The bathroom needs more hooks. There are not enough hooks in the bathroom to hang towels, robes, and wet swimsuits. The remote for tv didn't work. Only the volume worked. The hair dryer should be updated with a "cool shot" botton. The price for the room was considerably higher than other times we have stayed, because of college parents' weekend.

I thought it is very important to mention the manger reimbursed my first night because of my flight was canceled, and I didn’t arrived until the next day, the staff had me as a no show but when I arrived the next day they immediately accommodated me with a room which I requested. The staff were warm, welcoming, and nice.

I did not like the limited parking. There was a wedding on site which took up all the upfront parking spaces.

The room I was in, on the 3rd floor, had a wonderful bed, new temperature control system a beautiful bathroom, fridge and microwave which is handy when traveling for work. Pool is beautiful. Breakfast is basic scrambled eggs, toast, potatoes, a meat, etc. I keep coming back here for the location, comfort and its a bargain compared to other local hotels with the same amenities.

A beautiful museum! Step back in time. From the brass door handles , brass statues , China cabinets , crystal, pieces of furniture you’d see in a castle, chandeliers, library ! So different than any hotel around ! I love the character in every inch of this place. Breakfast was amazing. Waffles, biscuits gravy , eggs, fruit. Very well rounded. Staff friendly and helpful. Pool, hot tub , sauna ! Pond , walking/ biking trail ! I didn’t want to leave !

Not all of the elevators are working which made for a very long wait for some. We used the stairs !

Check-in was fairly easy, the bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean, and the breakfast spread was decent. I was surprised at how stylish and attractive the hotel was on the inside! One of the more uniquely designed hotels I've ever stayed at.

The bedroom smelled a bit strange; I don't know what chemical it was cleaned with. Also, when I was looking under the bed right before check-out (to make sure I didn't leave anything underneath), I found 2 non-matching socks (individuals of 2 different pairs) ... which afterwards made me wonder how well the room actually had been cleaned before I moved into it.

Family reunion...our room was great but family members complained of nowhere to hang their clothes and only a desk chair. One fam paid more to get a suite for us to gather in and only a desk chair and no hanging space for clothes. Not fair that they paid More. Also no disabled access to breakfast room.
