This is a great little hostel. At first I was horrified to arrive at the Walk of Fame. I didn't realise I'd booked to stay on the actual WoF. I it was noisy, dirty, loud and with weird people. Just gross. Then when you reach the hostel its like a peaceful nice haven away from all the blah in the main centre strip. The more time i stayed in the hostel the more I grew to really like it. And the Walk of Fame grew on me. The location is really good; you can catch the metro for 1.75usd then the free bus to the Hollywood Hills to hike to the HollyWood sign, or the Griffith Observatory. That's what i did. It's also literally a 4 min walk from the stop for the Big Bus hop on hop off tour as well. And ofc there's the WoF which was fun to spots the names. I got William Shatner Britney Spears and Luciano Pavorotti. The hostel dorm beds were SO comfortable I think the most comfortable hostel beds I've ever stayed in my life!! The staff are so lovely. Especially the dark haired woman. She gave me some organic spring onions and offered me more organic free food cos her friend had been to the Farmers Market and bought too much The bathrooms are spacious and spread throughout the hostel, the showers were very good, nice and hot with storage space (to bring your shampoo, soap etc, hand rails for towels, and one shower even had a small shelf unit so You can put your clothes on to change into. Very good. I liked the design of the hostel as well. It was quaint The patio was beautiful (a garden in the sun with little tables and chairs with shade),the laundry excellent and the kitchen was topđđźthey provided free herself and spices
American hostels dont have key carded lockers, it's necessary to use a padlock. Very annoying. every hostel I've been to here has this though; it isn't unique to this hostel. I'm from Europe and we have key carded lockers so basically your key card opens electronically your locker - it's easier than messing about with a padlock incase you forget things There was a girl on the first night I arrived who it seemed had been eating chicken in the room

A fantastic, small hotel with a bit of an old-fashioned charm. There's guest parking available for $10, and the place is clean and pleasant. For those who appreciate hotels with character, this one should not disappoint.
The only remark is the rather early checkout timeâ10 AM; I think 11 AM would be more reasonable.

Was woken up by people making noise in front of the window - turned out to be Adam Sandler and George Clooney shooting a scene :-) I liked the hostel! Itâs a huge house with many rooms and corridors and corners. There is always a bathroom/ toilet somewhere and they are comfortable from the size.

The location. It's unbelievably close to Hollywood Boulevard and yet it feels like an oasis away from its hustle and bustle!! A 3 minute walk from Madame Tussaud's. Target, Marshall's, Ralph's, and Subway are also close-by. The room was tidy, and the shared bathrooms were cleaned on a daily basis. Loved the fact that it's an ancient building. They have preserved some of its features, such as the lighting, the sinks in the bathroom , and a phone, which imparts a quaint and old-fashioned charm to it. The staff are very helpful and some of them speak several languages. They found a solution for me as I was supposed to have a late check-in, which is much appreciated. I could also do my laundry, which was very convenient. I definitely recommend this hotel.
It would have been good to be able to control the air con from my room. I would also recommend adding blackout curtains to some of the windows, as the lights streams in and makes it difficult to get to sleep.

The location is incredible â literally just a minute away from the Walk of Fame! Thereâs also a store nearby and easy access to public transportation, which is super convenient. (Pro tip: you're just one metro stop away from Universal Studios if you're heading there! đ) The villa itself is lovely. The rooms are simple, as are the shared spaces, and the staff puts in real effort to keep everything clean. What really surprised me in a good way: the hostel is very calm and quiet, with guests of all ages. There were no parties or loud situations â just a chill vibe. You might bump into fellow travelers in the hallway or shared kitchen during the day. They also have a charming little garden with a table and chairs where you can enjoy a meal or chat with someone new. Overall, a great experience!

We've been to this place several times and we can wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. We live to visit the L.A. area. In fact, we come back every year for 2-3 weeks. Everytime, and since 2020, we stay at the Orange Drive Hostel. It almost feels like home as we feel safe and in very good hands. The staff is very attentive and supportive. The rooms are clean and in good shape. The hostel is located in a side street right in the heart of Hollywood. Easy access to public transport, tourist attractions, restaurants and the very popular In N' Out Burger, etc. It's only a 2 minute walk to Hollywood Blvd attractions and a 5 minute walk to Sunset Blvd.

It's very near the subway and walkway of fame, There are also bus lines to every important spot in L.A. and walking distance of most Hollywood atractions. The staff is very helpful and took care of everything when we needed more blankets and a heater due to the surprising cold there was in LA when we visited. The front desk lady also provived some interesting stories about the building, that looks like an old house of a relative.
The pictures in the booking profile do not make justice to the hostel. We were worried about the quality, but It is way more beautiful than the pictures show, specially the front terrace with the squirrels and the trees.

Amazing location, cute old house turned into a quite hostel which generally has everything you need. Staff were friendly and helpful. I could store my bag securely all day and was allowed to freshen up when I returned to collect them which is nice. The kitchenette is small but looks to have most things youâd need (I only used it for tea/coffee). I stayed in a private room which was neat and tidy with its own bathroom/shower, sheets and towels.
I would recommend darker curtains in the private room as you can see the city lights at night through the sheer curtains and the sun beams through at first light. If youâre a light sleeper like me this makes it hard to sleep. The room was right next to a shared toilet which was quite noisy through the night with guests using it (mostly the door) - I guess there isnât much they can do about this but itâs not great for light sleepers.

Excellent value. The location is just the best, super easy to get anywhere in the area! Staff was also super helpful and nice, I asked for the nearest place to buy sunscreen and she offered me to grab fron the left behind stash, super nice of them and saved it from going to the garbage. The place is simple but clean and offers all that is needed to spend a couple nights, it is a century old manor, super cool, full of corridors, and an old telephone system! Highly recommend!
The place could use some minor investments to elevate the overall experience. The towels are super dated that the rims are gone, causing it to shed a bit. We had room 17, which faces the sunrise. The sun was on my face before 6 a.m., the curtains were so thin that a paper napkin could do a better job of darkening the room. A fresh coat of paint inside and some WD40 here and there are also recommended, simple things that can come a long way.
