The hotel is beautiful and a great location to walk down to Windermere and the breakfast was great

We were very unlucky about the room we was situated within. We were in room 210 which is right next to the stairs so all night was kept up by noise of people going up and down the stairs or saying good night at the section our door was. It was so loud we could barely sleep as kept getting woken up. Also, there was two receptionists, the guy in particular came across very abrupt.

Great location. Breakfast very good. All staff very friendly. Rooms nice and great shower. Able to leave car in carpark if going out for walk on last morning.

Room was really warm even though radiator wasn't on. Was fine though just had to have window open a bit. Not a complaint at all.

We travel a lot so use to staying in b&b . We both thought that there was no atmosphere to the place. Staff very stiff and uncomfortable. Almost like they were scared to move or talk . Staff should be apart of the atmosphere it makes the guests feel welcome and relaxed.we didn't stay in the hotel to relax. And that's not really like us 😕. I think this has a lot to do with the man in charge 🤔. I'm not putting a negative about him because the hotel is beautiful. But he needs to relax and make his Staff happy to be there

The breakfast was amazing, good amount of choice and well cooked. The staff were happy to bring food from the kitchen due to dietary requirements and safety. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was stocked with various teabags and coffee. The room and bathroom were spotless and the bed was very comfortable.

Only a small thing - the bedside lamps were extremely bright, so there wasn't much option for dim light for one person. It may have been helpful to include shower caps in the bathroom, as the shower was overhead.

Great location, very close to lovely village with lots if restaurants. Staff very friendly. Breakfast nice. I did miss some cheese or meet but that is purely because i am european. Everything else was there. Great yoghurt and fruit and so on. Even a donut bar (with boxes in case you dont want to eat it for breakfast but want to try later on the day). Breakfast area and other common areas was amazing to do boardgames, have a drink etc. great bar as well.

Our room was noisy at night as it was next to the road and sounded like not a good sound isolation. Despite us having closed the window it sounded like it was still open sound wise. Only negative feedback i have is this. It was unfortunately a slight annoyance.

Absolutely lovely hotel, beautifully decorated. Breakfast service was great and food was delicious! Car parking was free which was handy and within walking distance from everything. I like that there was a gym and the terrace was great. Staff were all extremely welcoming and approachable. The room was comfortable and cosy.

The only downside was that there was no food service for dinner if you can’t be bothered to head out, but there are plenty of places around close by. The room was a bit warm, even with the radiators off, and didn’t want to keep the window open overnight being in the ground floor.

I liked everything. The location overlooking Lake Windermere is fantastic, the Lake can be seen from several rooms, the restaurant and terrace, which is one of the best spots (of anywhere I know) for an evening drink watching the sun set behind the Windermere mountains. Decor throughout is clean, modern with a chic feel - very well done. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Also it is a 5 minute walk into Bowness which adds to the already great location, so evening meals, drinks and lake walks without the hassle of taking the car really makes a perfect location. Great hotel thoroughly recommended.

Really nice hotel.in a fantastic location, only let down by a couple of small things. Breakfast starts way too late at 8:30am, for walkers we need to get going early, so a 7am breakfast start would be much better. Secondly, I don't know much can be done as an old building, is the lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms, they can get quite hot and stuffy.

This was such a good find being in between Bowness and Windermere meant I could walk to both and it had lots of parking. The breakfast was so good so much choice and you can ask for poached eggs or scrambled. Also I really like its a bed and breakfast as it means you go out for food and I found some good places. There is a bar so you can order drinks and sit outside looking onto the lake. I like that it is dog friendly so will be coming back with mine and they have rooms on the ground floor which are easier for people who struggle with stairs.

I think the lighting in the room could be improved as the main light only light up a small area rather than the room, so felt a little dark in the evenings. Also I wish the breakfast started a little earlier maybe 8am as it feels late for in the week.

A lovely hotel in a perfect location in Bowness. Walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, pubs and lake. The room was comfortable and clean, and the shower provided lovely hot water. Plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, and milk was provided, along with a couple of lovely cookies. Cold filtered water was available out on the landing. Nice bar with fantastic views from the terrace. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice of hot and cold, even a doughnut bar! Would definitely stay here again.

Nothing not to like, just a shame they don't do a dinner service.

Lovely refurbished dining area. Fantastic buffet breakfast, loads of choice and kept well stocked. Staff well organised. Room was comfortable with a great walk in shower. This too had been refurbished since our last stay. Great receptionist, who was very helpful. Location great for Bowness and Windermere. Plenty of parking..... if people park correctly.

Bar area lacked atmosphere and was cold. Although room was comfortable it just lacked a few touches to make it perfect. Some of furniture at bit worn and dated. Our room had an ironing board, but stored in Wardrobe with luggage tressel taking up all the room. Noisy neighbours who like slamming the room doors, just don't understand why they do it.
