Tastefully, and recently decorated rooms and bathrooms. Really fantastic breakfast- pastries, granola, juices and a choice of delicious cooked options. Good choice of (posh ££) pub grub for dinner. Super friendly and helpful staff, particularly at breakfast. Great location on the coast path. Beautifully sun-drenched terrace on a spring/ summers evening.
Couldn't tell the difference between comfy and comfy plus- probably not worth the extra cost to upgrade, they were both great rooms. Access to the local beach was easy for us to climb down to, but would be harder for people with mobility issues- though you'd still get the sea view from the top of the (small) hill.

Amazing location just by the sea. Exemplary breakfast. Super-friendly staff. Cosy rooms. Room 4 is fantastic - quiet, warm, cosy.
We loved our stay. Please understand that these are only minor niggles. We would happily stay again and recommend it to anyone. Room 3 could do with better sound proofing. A carpet like the one in room 4 would go a long way. The floor boards in room 3 are very loud. The staff kitchen is also through the wall and we were woken by a member of staff loudly calling home for over 30 minutes on a speakerphone at 7am. The only other niggle was that the kitchen had a tendency to run out of a fair few items in the menu each evening occasionally resulting in very few choices for the veggies in our group.

From the moment we arrived the staff were happy, attentive andextremely efficient. A table filled for starters at breakfast (cereals, croissants, fruits) then able to order from a wide menu. The rooms were comfy with an amazing array of 19thC. memories. Bathroom was up-to-date & clean. The bed was surprisingly good, with both of us sleeping thru every night. Congratulations to the cook/s the food we had was always first class and serving staff all fun and respectful.

We really liked the whole vibe of the place, it was warm and cosy with helpful staff. The meals were very good and the room was excellent, which was decorated well and nice and warm. A spacious bathroom and very comfortable bath. We used the electric car charging which was brilliant.
2 small suggestions for improvements: a light on the table with the coffee/tea items and some healthy cereal options such as muesli.

Great location. Very cosy and welcoming, good beer. Breakfast was good. Staff seemed to enjoy working there , which is a good sign of a well run establishment. The room was immaculately clean. Bed was so comfy , had a great nights sleep.
My evening meal was under par , I didn't complain, the waitress noticed considerable left overs , asking why, reduced the bill as compensation. My friends meal was fine .

The room and facilities were very good; staff were friendly and helpful and there was a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere in both the indoor and outdoor environment. The all-day food menu, including the breakfasts, catered for a wide variety of tastes, and we had several enjoyable evening meals. A great place in a great location!

The room was warm, bright and clean. Bath towels and shower were great and the bed was comfy. Fresh milk was available from behind the bar for the tea/coffee & biscuits in the room. Breakfast was amazing, one of the best we've had and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for the South West Coast Path
Dinner at the restaurant was overpriced for the quality of the food

Friendly helpful staff. Clean comfortable rooms. Gorgeous quiet location. Perfect breakfast with good quality ingredients that I’d buy myself.
Constant piped music at odds with the peace. Particularly coming from the garden after we checked in and could have enjoyed a short nap. Accessibility needed more warning.

The location was excellent. Charming room, the place was full of character. Breakfast was very good (jam filled warm croissants to die for!) Staff managed to fit us in for dinner , as I had booked the wrong date online. It was pirate day on the bank holiday weekend, so a great atmosphere in the pub.
Not much extra for your money, and it was very expensive for 1 night.

The staff were very welcoming the room was cosy and clean. The coffee making facilities were good for a nice coffee or tea in the morning. Breakfast started a little late for me so I was unable to try it. The bar meal was very tasty and well prepared. Thank you for a wonderful stay
