The hotel is a great historical building and I'm interested in the history of pubs, there was a brief history of the place in one of the bar areas. The room was just the right size, the bed was very comfortable and there were a lot of things supplied that I didn't need to use (hangers, iron, hairdryer) so if I was staying longer, they would have been handy. Booking in was easy and the man on reception was friendly and helpful.
Finding a parking space was a bit tricky, some of the spaces were clearly marked if they were reserved or for other businesses in the area. Was just wary if I'd parked in the right area, the whole parking area did seem secure and no worries about vandalism or possible theft.

Room was lovely with brass bed, lovely bedside lamps and unusual wardrobe overlooking the main street. Part of the bedstead was broken but didn't affect our stay. Matress was excellent and room was very warm even without the heating on. Bathroom was adequate - a little tired. Christine checked us in and was a credit to the establishment, she was also working the next morning at breakfast. Breakfast was an added extra but was very good quality and good value for money. We also ate in the restaurant for evening meal on the day we arrived - again very good food, choice and reasonable prices.
As stated bathroom was a little tired and shower couldn't be adjusted low enough for a person ( adult) of smaller height. Prices in the bar were expensive and didn't feel particularly welcomed by all the staff.

Pub/Hotel was in a small suburb of Milton Keynes, Oldie Wordlie building, parking is at rear you need be patient as lot's private parking in area, receptionist was very welcoming and friendly and informative. The accommodation was a bit worn but it added to the age of property, room was spacious with wardrobe for clothing kettle for hot drinks tea, coffee biccis . Room had ironing board iron if required flat screen tv on wall bed was comfortable fluffy pillows good night's sleep, bathroom had a bath with overhead shower toiletries were supplied but we brought our own. Breakfast was included in price you could have you're choice from menu all freshly made all options catered for VG GM .cant fault anything or anyone we will return.
No bad experience

Everything the rooms are very comfortable with complimentary tea and coffee with a kettle. The breakfast was exceptional and we ate there both nights as the menu was so good and varied and good value for money. The staff are all friendly and gave advice as there was a zombie pub crawl on the Saturday night so advised us to eat earlier which was spot on 1 member of staff Christine was exceptional she did many jobs within the hotel from reception to serving breakfast all with a smile and a chat. She even came out to wish us a safe journey home. What a great person to have working for them very impressed

The staff made our stay, penny, tatyanna, Lara, Christine, Dave, josh, Sebastian were ALL amazing and made us feel like we were visiting friends. Bed was super comfy, room had everything we needed, love the shower, fluffy towels, and shopping area great. Free parking, free internet and was a market on the day we arrived. The breakfast was amazing, thanks chefs your the best and no need to leave hungry . If you want the better stay, choose the cock hotel, the bull is not a patch on it ..
Heating in bathroom didn't switch off but just keep door shut and contains it, good for cold nights when can leave it open to warm the room. TV basic channels but we watched netflix on iPad with free internet One barman on our first day was a bit grumpy, the chubbier guy .

This old coaching in has so much history associated with it, it's great, this is the pub which coined the term, "Cock and Bull story!" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cock_and_bull_story I was very late to checking after visiting MK11 Music |Venue, and the hotel didn't even bat an eyelid, very helpful, very efficient, and a great nights stay. Lovely breakfast the next morning, very comfy bed.
Vegetarian sausages for breakfast were not done very well, I think they were microwaved, but the remainder of the breakfast was delicious and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Due to the historic nature of the building, some of the floors were a little uneven. I found this appealing, as it was characterful, but some people with walking problems might find this challenging. It was quite noisy outside the hotel when I arrived as it was a busy pub opposite playing loud music, but I hardly noticed it inside.

Food was excellent, very fast service for the food we ordered in the bar. Breakfast was freshly cooked although we had to wait for it a bit longer than we would of liked. Plenty of choice. Room was very quaint, bed very comfy and had a good nights sleep.
Bathroom a bit dated, area around the shower could do with being redone. Toilet roll holder needs to be turned around the other way so you don't knock the toilet roll off of the holder into the toilet!

Liked the location and parking availability. The bed was soft and cozy and the room temperature was easily controlled by the thermostatic radiator valves. Shower was good and the bathroom was clean with nice fluffy white towels.
The bathroom had a rather nasty odour of what seemed like a drainage problem. The window couldn't be opened wide enough to get a good fresh air flow in. It's a very old hotel so you can expect a couple of problems so no big deal really.

Breakfast choices excellent. Location excellent. Very old hotel and floors a bit uneven and squeaky but this all adds to the charm. Stony Stratford is a lovely place to stay and easy to get around Milton Keynes. Always our hotel of choice.
Room could have had a mirror over the dressing table as doing makeup and hair a bit awkward. Just remember to take your own mirror with you.

Great location and a lovely, clean room away from the main bar. Great to have the room reset after our first night, was a lovely surprise! Lovely restaurant with great food.
A couple of mi or things: The shower curtain in our bathroom was too short so the floor ended up getting very wet! There was also a nail head poking through the carpet, next to the bed, which my partner caught his foot on a couple of times.
