The staff are so friendly! Matthew made us feel right at home. Our bedroom had everything we needed and was very cosy too! This was our third time staying in Sedgefield this year, but our first stay at the Pickled Parson and it won't be our last. For the price, the Pickled Parson comes out top compared to the establishment across the road. Also had the pleasure of the company of Willow, who decided to come and sit with us! Loved the doggy cuddles even though I wasn't fooled. It was the dog treats on the bar she actually wanted! Absolutely a perfect stay. Thank you, see you again soon.
Nothing to dislike!

What a Gem! Stayed here, as an easy close by place whilst my dad had an operation in Stockton. From the first enquiry the staff were brilliant. I wasn’t sure if I would need 1 or 2 nights and they were really understanding and accommodating in dealing with my query. It was a big stress for me worrying about my dad and the stay here felt like a home from home. On arrival we were met with a smile, they checked us in showed us to our rooms and carried our cases up to the room for us, what a lovely touch. The rooms were pristine, beautifully decorated and spacious and the bed super comfy. The facilities in the room were great and brilliantly stocked drinks tray with bottled water and caramel bars a lovely touch. We stayed for the evening meal and the food was spectacular as well, and the service faultless. Great tasting food, great portions and very reasonably priced too and the deserts were to die for!! We ordered breakfast the day before for the morning and the food was also wonderful. I can highly recommend the smashed avocado and poached an eggs on toast. It was a wonderful place, service wit a smile and a feeling of a home from home being treated like family not customers. I cannot thank you enough for making a stressful time all the more easy to manage. Thank you all, we will definitely be back :)

The food was absolutely delicious, they obviously take pride in providing excellent quality meals and the staff were all extremely friendly, polite and helpful.
The room we booked was above the bar and it was very noisy, the Pickled Parson staff are obviously aware of this as they did have a little box in the room explaining it's an old building and they've tried their very best to sound proof the rooms but at busy periods it can be noisy so they provide complimentary earplugs. The floor in our room did make noise when walked on, but again this is due to it being an old listed building

Location is excellent. Easy to find . Sedgefield is a lovely little place with some small independent shops and some other cafes/ restaurants if you don’t want to eat at the hotel. Quiet and lovely for a walk around.
Have stayed here before so knew what to expect. Don’t think there was anything not to like. Bed comfortable. Room clean and nice hospitality tray. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly. Check in was easy and quick.

A compact but really thoughtfully furnished room which gave it a really boutique hotel feel. The staff were absolutely lovely. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was really excellent. We enjoyed our stay a lot and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel.
The bathroom is very compact but that has been pointed out in other reviews so wasn't a surprise and it was really well done. Otherwise there really wasn't anything we didn't like

Lovely, comfortable bedroom, nicely decorated and furnished. Lovely outlook over the village green. Excellent location, amid the beautiful village of Sedgefield- a village with lots of character, another good restaurant & local independent shops. Excellent breakfast , beautifully presented. Great bar and very very friendly and helpful staff. The Pickled Parson is a lovely, relaxing place to stay.
Tv signal was a bit random- a loose connection I think. Would have liked maybe a lighter option for breakfast, such as pastries, yoghurts, fruits.

Spacious double room with good tea & coffee making facilities, spotlessly clean Fantastic breakfast & friendly staff Close to other bars & restaurants
Very very hot shower in room 3, we tried to change it but no matter which way we moved the dial it stayed the same temperature. We should have raised this with reception but it was very late at night

Lovely room, nice restaurant, nice bar, lovely outlook over the village green. Comfy bed and pillows, nice and quiet, slept really well. Great tea tray complete with Tunnocks!
Nowhere to put towels or toiletries in bathroom. Pre-selecting breakfast the day before. It would be nice to be able to self-serve cereals/juice etc . Last orders at 10.30 pm Saturday night.

Nice staff very friendly. Lovely waitresses for evening meal and breakfast. Comfy bed. Good tea/coffee/biscuit set.
Needs a paint job now I think. Areas looked a little marked which made it look dirty although it wasnt. Room one. Other than that lovely. Noise from pub and road to be expected but they supply ear plugs. To be honest it is not that bad.
