Everything! Loved this place! The Hotel's beautiful and classy, and the staff couldn't be friendlier or more professional. Gorgeous rooms, beautifully done. If they'll have me I intend to come back!!! I want to give a personal thank you to John, and an exceptional thank you to the amazing Michelle. I had an issue which she sorted out professionally, without any fuss, and she went above and beyond, just dealt with it. Thank you Michelle, you're a class act!....Oh, the next time can I stay in the Main House?....Only cos I'm nosy!!!

Nothing, excellent!

It's one of those places that if you were being selfish you wouldn't want to tell too many people about incase they get that busy you can't book in next time you want to go So between you and me the staff were fantastic the food was outstanding everything perfect and I don't say that about most hotels that we visit Definitely would go back and experience that lake District / Cumbrian hospitality again

The fact we had to leave

By far the best hotel I have stayed at, it was beyond my expectations. The building itself is elegant whilst keeping the original features and charm. The rooms were like apartments huge, the front of house staff and chef went above and beyond even gave our pooch a sausage for breakfast and lots of fuss. The food on the evening and breakfast was plenty, delicious and lots of choice. Loved this place and will definitely be back again.

Absolutely Nothing

The staff (Michelle and Sonia) were superb hosts. They were very welcoming and we had a great laugh with them. It was my partners birthday and there was a treat in the room for him and Sonia even sang to him before breakfast 😃. The room itself was beautiful with original features. The bar area was extremely comfortable to the point we could have fallen asleep on the sofas after the evening meal. Overall a perfect stay. Thanks

Absolutely nothing to dislike

This is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in very dog friendly which is important to us as we have a small dog. The food was excellent and the standard of accommodation high.

Although this didn't bother us the location in close proximity to a large nuclear facility might not be everybody's cup of tea. The location is rural and very peaceful and the hotel grounds well kept.

Although near a nuclear power station, it didn't feel like it once in the hotel grounds. Staff were superb and couldn't make us and, in particular, our little dog more welcome. Room was comfortable and a generous size, our evening meal we had was superb and breakfast was lovely with our dog receiving a bonus sausage!

the location is perfect for the Sellafield site and you can recharge the battery of the car at the hotel for a modest fee, the hotel is investing heavily in their infrastructure to provide more rooms and additional electric vehicle charging

the menu doesn't seem to change, although the food is very good it would be nice to see some alternatives.

Felt very welcome. The room was nice and the beds super comfy. The food in the restaurant was lovely and always hot and freshly prepared. The staff were lovely friendly and we even chatted with the lady chef on the Friday morning. Everyone made you feel welcome.

The room was lovely and a super comfy bed. The staff couldn't do enough to help. The food was plentiful and very good. We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the chef made us some lovely heart shaped short bread, this was a lovey touch and much appreciated.

Breakfast was delicious; I had both the meat and the vegetarian option and they were both really really lovely. Freshly cooked and very tasty! The room was perfect, lovely and spacious and the bar was open late allowing us to have a drink when we wanted. Staff were also very friendly, especially our breakfast server who made a ‘packed breakfast’ for my partner who didn’t make it to breakfast.

The floorboards above our room were very squeaky and noisy, which led to two nights of not much sleep due to the noise. You could hear every footstep and even some conversations from the room above. This meant my partner didn’t make it to breakfast due to lack of sleep.
