The food was first class. we had the taster menu which was delicious and each course was explained toits content and preparation. breakfast was delivered to the Shephard's Hut on time each morning. these huts are wonderfully laid out and ideal for a bit of solitude.

we stayed in "Mallard" a Woodland Shephard's Hut which was first class. the only draw back was the lack of a handrail to access the entry deck level, and steps were slippy when wet. Our companions were in "Kingfisher" and it did not have a hand rail either. I did consider this a SAFETY feature which definitely was missing.

The setting for the Rufflets is rural on the outskirts on the West side of St Andrews with views up the coast towards Dundee. Clearly, it has been modernised in the last few years and the inside is a very different feel from the more traditional country manor exterior. We booked one of the rooms in the gatehouse which was wonderful and felt more like a villa or house rental than a hotel. Highly recommend a walk in the gardens and the breakfast was very good.

I got the feeling that some of the staff were new and still settling in. Personally, I prefer a proper reception desk where you can see the staff rather than standing around in the reception area waiting for someone to appear from an office.

This is an elegant and lovely place filled with a relaxing atmosphere and beautiful grounds! The check in process includes staff personally taking you to your room to be sure all is to your liking! We were just staying overnight and got a standard room. It was small but very comfortable, modern and had all the amenities you could want. The dining room and bar were lovely and the small living room areas were very nice. It reminded me of a club with sleeping rooms! My only regret is we only had one day and night to enjoy it all!

The property was fantastic nothing not to like, but our bed was only a full size and no larger, so sleeping was trickier than usual! Just know that a standard room has a small bed!

Spacious accommodation in a quiet location. Restaurant staff very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.

We were not advised that there was an additional £25 for our dog to stay, despite ample opportunity to highlight, as all other accommodation we stayed in did up front through booking.com AND during confirmation correspondence when checking our dog was welcome. Sadly whilst we followed this up with the hotel we have not received a response.

Nice size room, great amenities, quiet, comfortable and location to St Andrews proper was perfect. Beautiful gardens that must be wonderful to enjoy in the summer months. Breakfast was excellent. The do have a restaurant for evening meals but we did not try it.

There were some maintenance issues in our room and we informed the housekeeper. Nothing was done, nothing critical. We did inform the front desk upon check out.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Rufflets Hotel, and we were impressed with the cleanliness and overall maintenance of the rooms. The environment was impeccable, and the rooms were well-organised and comfortable, making for a very pleasant stay. We appreciated the friendliness and professionalism displayed by the staff. From the friendly reception you receive on arrival.a member of staff accompanied us to our room to ensure we were happy with everything. The room was a very good size exceptionally clean,the breakfast was had a great choice We were looked after in a manner that was exceptional and would recommend anyone visiting St Andrews to use this hotel you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely Nothing

Check in was easy., however at first we were taken to the wrong room, mistake was quickly remedied while we waited in the hallway. Lots of stairs, so I would recommend for those who can walk up several flights of stairs. Breakfast was very good. Grounds of the property were somewhat neglected, but otherwise the room was quite large and spacious with king size bed.

everything went very well from the greeting by the staff at reception, offer of help with our luggage to be accompanied by a member of staff to show us our room. The room was of a very good size exceptionally clean with all facilities you would require for a stay. All the staff were very helpful and looked after us extremely well during our stay. The breakfast had a fantastic choice and was cooked to order

Beautiful house, stunning gardens, peaceful location. Staff and food were exceptional. They were always willing to go the extra mile; staff were obviously well-trained and so polite. Regarding our meals, breakfast and dinner were delicious and nicely presented during our long weekend stay.

Noise from the bar was a bit annoying on 2nd night, some people were clearly well-oiled and loud with it, and our room was just above it. For £300 a night I think every room should be king-size; we struggled a bit with the double bed as we've a king-size at home. Room and bathroom very nicely appointed, but again, small for the price.
