Location is fine, staff are friendly

Room had musty smell, bed very uncomfortable

We had a warm, helpful reception. It was easy to park the car on the premises although there were not many spaces. We had a large room in the converted stables in the courtyard and had a large, clean bathroom. Breakfast was cooked to order. We enjoyed our one night stay there. It is an historic inn which has been recently decorated in an attractive manner.

Perhaps a bit further from the centre than I expected. I had hoped to walk to the cathedral from there but it was too far for an easy walk.

No breakfast as the pub didn't open until later. Room was in a converted stables annexe with en-suite. Clean, if a little dated, with plenty of storage space. Bed comfy. Lovely little courtyard with 8 or so rooms off it and a couple of tables with chairs to sit out. Close to Ripon town centre and parking available on site. Nearby Fountains Abbey and Brimham Rock worth a visit. Staff very helpful and attentive.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. I was in the stable accommodation which was very comfortable and had everything I needed for my stay. The courtyard was very well kept and looked attractive with tables and chairs outside. The breakfast which was included in the price was great with plenty of choice and 3 courses. The dining room was very well laid out and clean. Evening meals were available the menu had a great choice and children's menu . I dined there 1 night had the homemade steak pie which was very tasty and good value . Will definitely stay there again when I am next in area.

The hospitality of the staff was tremendous, walking distance to the centre of Ripon and also the bus station where they have a free shuttle bus to Ripon races. The Room and bathroom were spacious and quiet. The breakfast was very nice, with a choice of cereal and orange juice before your full English breakfast. I really enjoyed the sausages.

The room was nice but the carpet around the edges could have been a bit cleaner and there was no TV remote (but after mentioning that to the staff we understood why).

Room we stayed in was one of ten in a converted stables at the rear of the pub. It was Very clean, warm and a good size. Breakfast was excellent also the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We were surprised as the first impression driving into the car park was not positive. It is only a Two minute walk into town and to the Cathedral. Highly recommended

Only negative was the parking. Did manage to park on their car park but was tight because of the way others had already parked and it is a first come first served basis. Minor niggle though.

Very clean, comfortable bed. Great value for money with a central location. Bar maid was really lovely, who checked us in. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t the ritz, you get what you pay for and in this case, I felt it was good value. Self contained rooms outside, old converted stables.

Absolutely fantastic hotel set in a traditional style pub. It’s in a lovely location in the centre of Ripon. We went to the races as a group, the rooms were in a gorgeous court yard, the pub served traditional food as well where we enjoyed an evening meal. Every one loved their rooms and were very comfortable. Our stay included breakfast the next day which was lovely, the lady who served us was so friendly and attentive and the chef was top notch. Honestly could not fault our stay there at all as a group of 6, every single one of the group said how lovely it was and all want to visit again for another stay. We’ll definitely all be booking to come back again :-)

Very nice and welcoming people. We were only there to sleep, really, and it fitted the bill very well. Good beds. Very nice typical English breakfast, with extremely helpful and cheerful staff. No fancy extras, but who needs them? We’d stay there again. Only a very few minutes walk from Ripon Square, where there are lots of restaurants, cafes, and a tapas bar (which is really excellent). Cash point inside Sainsbury’s, which is through, and further through an opening in square, and not well signposted. Ripon is a bit noisy with traffic during day, but much quieter at night, although there seems to be a good social life. Cathedral worth visiting. Fountains Abbey (National Trust) definitely worth the few minutes’ driving, as really beautiful.

The shower in room 2 wasn’t on originally, however, cheerful help was forthcoming immediately I mentioned it. Unfortunately the shower turned out to be either lukewarm when set on low, or red hot/very cold, on high. Fan string needs renewing, as broken, too. But not the end of the world, after all. I’d still go back.

Ripon is a lovely town-sized cathedral city. The White Horse is located within easy strolling distance of the market square and the town's many shops, pubs and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great cooked breakfast made to order. Main bar/restaurant and rooms had been recently refurbished. Weather wasn't great while we were there, so good that it is possible to control the amount of heating in your bedroom. Kettle, tea/coffee and biscuits in the room. Outdoor table and chairs available (if you are in a courtyard room).

The shower is very small - and yet the bathroom itself is big! Room itself is quite basic, but contains all the main essentials.
