Staff were very helpful, Hotel was very clean and well kept. The outside of the hotel, mainly the walls were a bit tired. Breakfast was a buffet and had a wide choice of food. Dinner was included in my rate and was also very good.
My room, 104, had very sqweaky hinges and made a load noise when leaving the room, which would have disturbed other guests, as I had to leave early both mornings. It wasn't obivous how to get someone at reception, if there was no one there.

Excellent location on the southwestern coast of Scotland overlooking the small fishing village of Portpatrick. Friendly staff, nice room with great views. We had a nice dinner at the hotel. The young staff serving were a bit green but were doing their best.
The Sticky Toffee Pudding was too dry. Low marks for that one.

very nice rooms, nice food and friendly helpful staff, good amount of parking and amazing location.
the entrance to the car park has these large pillars, which are too narrow and will prevent types of vehicles from using the car park, needs widening.

The staff were amazingly polite & very helpful. The food was outstanding and the choice at breakfast was excellent. The hotel is positioned high above the harbour with views to die for.
The building was tired and in need of some work in some areas. This is a minor issue as the positive aspects of this hotel made up for the odd bit of peeling wallpaper. The on-site parking is chargeable at £6.50 per day. Finally the staff seemed to be short on numbers which meant at times there was a short delay before getting attention. Currently there is no EV charging facilities.

The building is beautiful and the location was perfect with gorgeous sea views. The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the staff in the restaurant and breakfast room. Great bar with plenty of choice and the bonus of the pool and darts room. Room had sea view.
Our room did have a sea view but it was very small. The bathroom was spacious but the plumbing was horrendous. We know it is an old building but it was the worse shower we have ever encountered and the hot water tap was very temperamental. We had no room service for the 4 nights we were there and there were no door notices left for us to hang to request it. Breakfast was good, but we were unable to get some items some mornings and the tables were always missing some item.

The location and sea view are exceptional. Although it's an old hotel (1905) and needs some upgrades, it is kept spotlessly clean. I found all the areas I spent time in comfortable, and as I have disabilities, this is very important to me; the bed was excellent. Breakfast was great; you help yourself, and there were plenty of healthy and vegetarian options along with the traditional, cooked Scottish breakfast - if anything runs out, the staff are happy to get you whatever you need. Every member of staff we interacted with, from the manager to the housekeepers, were truly friendly, polite and helpful; they made it a joy to stay at this gorgeous old hotel. We will stay there again for sure.

All the staff were super friendly. Really lovely location, with amazing view of the sea. We chose this hotel mostly because it’s dog friendly - they were super dog friendly and we were able to bring along our dog for all our meals. We paid £30 for our dog stay, again great value (£10 a night). We got breakfast included with the price, nice hot breakfast (full breakfast) and continental - superb value! Dinner price was on the higher end but still pretty tasty but is relatively to the location as we went to a local pub one evening and the price was very similar. We got quite a small room but had a nice view of the sea. Although the room was rather basic it was a comfortable stay and was good we could along our dog. Would be helpful to note that there aren’t really any local shops about (like convenience store/ super market) so we drove about 15 mins to a supermarket nearby.

Location was great, fantastic views from very comfortable turret room. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and places to visit. I'd like to thank three staff in particular. Niamh, Dylan and Olivia. Hotel itself is lovely. Beware of 4 poster bed if you have short legs. I had a hilarious time getting in and out. 😆
Heated towel rail didn't work and wasn't attended to while I was there. Water took 9 minutes to run hot, but maybe not uncommon in an old building of that size. Not a complaint, just for info. I've had better food, but for only three nights it was ok. The penne arrabiata was rather good though, as was the G&T on the terrace.

The welcome was warm and staff we encountered were friendly and efficient. The room (Premier Sea View) was spacious and comfortable and the view spectacular, with a door out to the lawned area. A short walk to the main Village opens up more eating possibilities for stays longer than one night, (try The Crown for excellent seafood and hand-pulled beer.) A beautiful location and well-recommended.
First and foremost a lack of proper beer in the bar. If there isn't the throughput for cask ale then so be it, but some bottled local beers wouldn't have come amiss. Buffet breakfast ok though in my opinion cooked to order eggs should always be provided.
