The location of The Scot was perfect for exploring Oban, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel was spotless, and the room had the usual tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and a wee treat of some Tunnocks teacakes. There was a hairdryer, iron, ironing board, and a fan. The bathroom was modern with a nice big walk in shower, lovely toiletries, and plenty of clean towels. The room also had a nice, big, comfy bed, which allowed a great night's sleep 😴 We opted to have the cooked breakfast, which did not disappoint - it was delicious. There were also plenty of options like cereal, porridge, toast, and pastries. Also had a cracking coffee machine, and the lattes were lovely. Free parking was also a bonus. All in all, we had a lovely stay, and we will be back.

The room was very warm as the towel radiator was on constantly. Our problem though as we didn't realise we could open the windows or find the fan until the next morning 😊

We had a fantastic 5 night stay on the 16th December. We had a double room with a big comfy superking bed, sockets next to bed, plenty of storage, shower was lovely and powerful with plenty of hot water, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel all supplied, fresh big fluffy white towels changed daily. The room was cleaned and replenished every day, with hot chocolate different coffees, tea, milk and 2 marshmallow biscuits, also a couple of bottles of water. The location is brilliant with everything in walking distance. We never had breakfast or used the bar so can’t comment on that. Friendly staff made the stay all that much better.

The only problem was the WiFi wasn’t great, but never spoilt anything for us.

Ideal location - close to the Town centre/harbour, and also Corran Halls. Parking, but can be a tight squeeze if heading towards being full, as not everyone is considerate when they park (it’s not marked out with parking bays). Staff all lovely; friendly and helpful. Bedding immaculate, and beds very comfortable too. Tea/coffee, water, biccies etc in the room, which was a very nice experience - though room itself was a wee bit tired with a ceiling light ill-fitting and hanging out, and corners dusty .. just need a wee bit of attention to detail. Bathroom shower spot on and toiletries very pleasant .. bought some myself at wee shop down the street!

Nothing really; will return and stay again. If at front of building then George Street can be very busy with flow of people one-way traffic - so wee bit noisy, but you are literally on the town Centre so comes with the territory!

Good location and while not on the sea front, only one street back and within walking distance of everything in the centre of Oban. Good comfortable bar and they have an arrangement with a fabulous restaurant called 'Coast' where we ate and were able to inform us when our table was ready. Decor in the room was nice and bed was comfortable. Fabulous rain shower and free parking at the rear of the hotel.

Room and bathroom were both on the small size though thankfully, the shower cubicle which is the main thing was large. The walls were paper-thin and not much privacy so be quiet! Thought it was on the pricey side for what was on offer.

The property is very modern, with really nice Scottish touches. It’s within walking distance of everything. The bed was massive and the shower was fantastic. We didn’t eat here so can’t comment of food. Room was spotlessly clean, and the staff we encountered were very friendly and very helpful. Carpark isn’t huge so be aware of this, but we got parking arriving at 3pm. We could hear the music from the pub across the road until late, it didn’t bother us, but if that sort of thing does maybe ask for a room at the back. We will most definitely be booking again, had a lovely day and night in Oban.

Lady on the front desk Lorna couldn,t do enough to help us she went above and beyond from leaving the key for us for our room as we thought we would be late but it wasn,t needed in the end down to leaving chocolates and card for the hubster as it was a big birthday : ) although they had skeleton staff because of the time of year everyone of them were helpful and happy : ) Room on 1st floor very clean, warm and cosy but a little noisy as it was at front of building and you could hear morning traffic as they only had secondary glazing due to age of building. No breakfast as refurbing kitchens but a 5min walk took us to plenty of places to choose from. We will deffo be back thank you for a very welcomed couple of days : )

The staff at The Scot were amazingly helpful. My husband and I arrived at The Scot with my husband feeling flulike symptoms. We were supposed to stay in Oban for one night, the plan was to catch a ferry to Tiree in the morning. My husband was too ill to travel to Tiree when scheduled. The staff at the Scot allowed us a late checkout the next day, found another hotel we could stay at in Oban, they were all booked up, and couldn’t have been kinder during a somewhat stressful start to our holiday! Thank you so much to the staff for all of your help!

This is a lovely hotel located at the start of a busy street but still quiet easy walk to shops, restaurants & ferry/station. Rooms are a good size bathroom small but functional with a large shower which was good. Tv was also a good size for the room. We did not have breakfast but when passing it looked & smelt nice.good I would use this hotel again if in the area.

They were not serving evening meals so after a long journey on arrival this would have been an advantage & there was no customers in the bar so it felt uncomfortable didn't want to be the only 2 people in. Not enough room to use a chair in front of the mirror to dry hair but just used the bed.

-Friendly and smooth check-in, no other interactions with staff as we did not book breakfast or drink in the bar. -Room was clean and comfy. Fast wi-fi. -Location was ideal for walking around Oban, and the private car park to the rear of the hotel was a bonus.

-The walls were a bit thin as you can hear people in the adjacent rooms and hallway. -Hotel is also on one of the busier roads through Oban so can be a bit loud with traffic and people spilling out the pub across the road. -Seal around shower was hanging off.

Central hotel with smiley friendly and helpful staff! Rooms had everything you need. Room was clean and newly renovated. Beds were comfortable. Shower room is small but shower worked perfectly. Room had coffee and tea facilities which was good. Location was good one street back from the front esplanade so no view but in a perfect central location to explore the town. Great parking facilities as we know in Oban it can be difficult to find spaces. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on it unfortunately. Definitely would recommend and would return if in area again!

Rooms were a little warm for our liking ( which I imagine is a good thing in winter) but we discovered there was a plug in fan in the room and we could open one of the windows, which helped a lot!
