The view across Rutland Water from the conservatory at breakfast is stunning, especially when the sun is shining. The bed was also very comfortable. The staff were also very friendly.

We were a party of six staying for 2 nights and spent a lot in the bar and on wine with dinner on both nights. It is a pity that the bar staff are not equipped with the correct glasses to serve drinks. When you are paying bar prices you expect drinks served in the correct glasses - not tumblers!

Great location by Rutland Water. Excellent views and quiet. Good food. Neat new gates bit like a Lych Gate that goes out the garden. Bed very comfortable

Some maintenance needed on the disabled facilities, rust on rails. The wet floor needs shower curtains down to the floor.

The restaurant and food were amazing, the staff very helpful and location was lovely

The rooms are on the small size and the walls are very thin so could hear a lot of noise

The location was fab, Room suffice. A very popular hotel as it was busy throughout my stay. Breakfast suffice but a DIY buffet. Staff were good.

On the first night I had a problem with my room. My room was above the kitchens which worked out ok as I didn't really hear any goings on from the Kitchen. But intermittently overnight the pipe work in the shower room sounded off and I can only describe as it sounded like a jet taking taking off so as soon as I nodded off I was woken again by the ridiculous noise, and it went on all night. So on my second night I expected the same and it only happened the once so I got some sleep. But that's not acceptable.

Location is lovely - the grounds stretch down to Rutland Water with access to the path along the shore - the grounds also have views over rolling countryside on all sides including the far side or Rutland Water - the rooms with a lake view are special. The hotel is well maintained if a little basic (not a spa hotel groomed within an inch of its life) - and the staff are lovely and the value is outstanding - what you see is what you get. The restaurant food is traditional British - but up a couple of notches - the catering punches above its weight. And although it is less than 5 miles off the A1 London to Edinburgh dual carriageway you'd be for given for thinking you's arrived in a rural idyll - which you have.

Nothing springs to mind - and I find the ethos of Best Western hotels appealing

Absolutely wonderful food and staff, I don't think I've ever been to a hotel with nicer staff and they were extremely dog friendly as well - would recommend to anyone who wants a very welcoming stay with their dogs. Lovely lady on reception was so helpful and kind and the waitress at breakfast was extremely attentive. Two staff had seen us walking our dogs and were disappointed we didn't bring them down to breakfast, offering to walk them for us and offered a sausage to take back for them. We promise to bring them to breakfast next time! The hotel itself is in a beautiful location and we enjoyed evening lakeside walks and some delicious food on the patio. The dog friendly rooms are very accessible and big enough for us to put up our travel crate as well. Also on the ground floor so easy to pop the dogs out to the grassy area for the toilet. We had bottomless afternoon tea and the cakes and sandwiches were fabulous, the freshly baked scones being our favourite part. Very good ratio of clotted cream and jam as well! We will absolutely be back to this wonderful hotel, it was such a wholesome staycation

Service during our bottomless afternoon tea was good at the start, with the young waitress refilling our glasses. However towards the end of the hour we were waiting about 15 minutes for a top up and I had to go up to the bar.

Brilliant location, brilliant helpful staff who went above and beyond. Room amenities were perfect, and there was lots of space to store our belongings. Beds were comfortable. Good value for money. Food onsite if needed. Parking right outside room so no struggling with luggage.

Other than this, we were extremely happy with our stay and would absolutely return in the future: Tv remote slow to respond, shower took a long while to heat up, sink taps ran cold, wardrobe was slightly broken on one side but we didn’t need access to it.

The location is amazing, all the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was large and the juliet balcony let us sit and enjoy the view in the evening. The gardens were well maintained. We had afternoon tea which was very fresh (the scones were warm!!) and it was excellent quality.

Some of the hot breakfast items were cold in their serving containers and I wasn't offered a top up for my coffee. The items were of good quality it was just a shame some were cold.

Beautiful waterside location set in lovely tranquil surroundings. Our room was clean and comfortable and had a small balcony which overlooked the waterside garden. Breakfast was self service a good choice and all well prepared. Used the hotel as a ‘half way point’ to meet up with friends and would definitely use again. Excellent location and value for money.

The hotel generally looked a little tired, but this managed to provide some character to the location.

The views were phenomenal and the location was excellent for cycling Rutland Water. Service was wonderful- shout out to Marina who let us lock our bikes in the cellar and the guy at the bar who found me some chocolate snacks for after the cycle ride. The room was lovely - great size and view.

The only two things were a watered down G&T (not sure what went wrong) and the bath didn’t hold water too well, but otherwise food, drink, room, service was awesome.
