Beautiful building and grounds, such a lovely space for children to run around in. Great family room set up, dog friendly. Charming and relaxed setting. Great location, perfect for a family get together.
The bed was not particularly comfy and the decor and furniture were a little tired in the room. The restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay, and this was not clear when we booked. Signs were up about not consuming food or drink on the premises which felt restrictive for a hotel, especially when the restaurant was closed and the bar was not always manned. No fridge in the room, hairdryer was useless.

It was a lovely hotel. The staff were very helpful, friendly, happy, We had the breakfast each morning, and 1 evening meal, the food was excellent. The beautiful grounds was a nice bonus, when you have been out all day, to come back and sit in the grounds was a delight. Would have liked some sun loungers just to relax in as our weather was lovely. It was on quite a busy road. Usk town was a 10 minute walk away, with a few shops and quite a few restaurants.Very pretty little town, Usk in Bloom.
We were in a room in the roof space , the room and bathroom were very clean, no fridge which would have been a nice touch and no dressing gowns, just small thing that make it a 4*. Because we were on the top floor the room was so hot, we used the fan, but it was quite noisy, so sleep wasn't too good, it really needs air con in the room. Having said all that we had a very relaxing few days in this lovely hotel.

Loved the surroundings, it was very homely, the staff were great and the gentleman on reception was very welcoming and he also spoke to us at breakfast. Staff were really great
I won’t say it was something I didn’t like but found it to be a bit expensive for what it was, also the room we were in, the fan in the bathroom was so loud and couldn’t turn it off, woke up at 2:15am to try and close the bathroom door to try and drown the noise a little but it wouldn’t close tight, other than not having a nice nights sleep because that fan everything else was great.

Charming small “ mansion”, Hotel. Our bathroom was newly fitted out and with all the latest facilities. The staff were very helpful. The town of Usk is only a five minute walk away with an interesting historical castle. Parking was plentiful.
A few small things. The hotel is close to the main road so if you get a room at the front, you may hear some noise. Breakfast serving could be thought out a little bit more efficiently although I guess the hotel mainly caters for a holiday residents. Everything has to be ordered individually and as a result, we missed the presence of a buffet for cereal, et cetera, which would’ve been rather nice. my two wish boxes for breakfast at a hotel - serve on hot plates and the butter to be spreadable were both ticked.

Breakfast was excellent quality, had plenty of variety and was served by very attentive staff. The hotel is located in a quiet location within easy, level walking distance of the lovely, floral town of Usk. This offered additional choice of eating places, independent shops and a lovely setting. A fuel station very close to the hotel allows easy access to sundries which may be required during the stay. The hotel gardens are spacious and relaxing, offering both sun (if you are lucky) and shade. The hotel lacks certain facilities (e.g. pool and gym) but that suited us -- too much expansion of facilities could ruin the ambiance of this lovely country house hotel. The owner Alex was most welcoming and a source of useful information.

Excellent location in attractive gardens. The Victorian gothic building has been very well extended and is tastefully furnished and decorated. The service was first class, friendly and efficient. Dinner and breakfast were well cooked and presented - large portions, perhaps a little too large for us. We always feel guilty if we don’t leave a clean plate. The bedroom was large, the bathroom had a bath, always welcome, and the bed was large and comfortable. We slept well.

Couldn't recommend this hotel enough. All the staff were friendly, helpful and extremely professional. It is a beautiful old manor home that has been lovingly renovated and updated. The restaurant, the bar and the homely sitting rooms were superb. We had dinner and breakfast and both meals were delicious and freshly prepared, no buffet here, all waiter service. Our room was quite, comfortable and spotlessly clean.
Nothing!

Beautiful setting. Very dog friendly (we didn’t take our dog but people did). Staff were excellent. Food was nice. Breakfast service was good. Concierge was so accommodating. Bathroom was brand new and lovely. Ample parking. Within a very short distance of the center of Usk.
It was a little tired in places but they are obviously working through to upgrade rooms - our bathroom was brand new and beautifully done.

The setting of the hotel in a mature garden was lovely. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The room was great... spacious and very comfortable.
I do like a cooked breakfast, tea/coffee and toast to be ordered and prepared fresh, as indeed these were, but I prefer to help myself at a buffet for cereals, fruit/fruit salad, yoghurt, continental breakfast items, etc, but there wasn't a buffet.

The location was great the gardens and grounds were well looked after the evening meal was very well organised and food was amazing
The rooms need a bit of updating there was a bit of an old smell as we entered the room. the breakfast was the complete opposite of the evening meal poor organisation, was seated straight away and then left for about 25 min until we asked someone if we could order. the coffee and toast arrived then waited probably another 20 min for breakfast which to be honest wasn’t great which is a shame
