After travelling for many hours , feeling tired , we were greeted by friendly staff which made us feel most welcome. Thank you! It made our day!

Well appointed, beautifully decorated rooms. Good range of toiletries. Nibbles and drinks - can soft drinks and pure apple juice -free and replenished daily. Minibar, Nespresso machine. Heated bathroom floor. Easy room temp control. Quiet, carpeted sound proof rooms…until..see below. Very close to South Kensington station. Short walk to National Heritage Museum and sightseeing buses. Local bus No 14 less than 30m from hotel passes Harrods, Oxford Circus to city centre. Great way to see London for around £2.

The lighting for the bathroom and full length mirror was appalling. Not possible to apply makeup in bathroom. Had to take a small mirror to the main room even then unable face the window. A strong possibility that I left the room looking like a gargoyle as I couldn’t see how my facial. artwork turned out. The lighting is non existent when opening the safe. One has to feel with hands to check if anything has been left behind. Older people will have to negotiate climbing in and out of bathtub when using the shower. Hang on to the towel rack when getting out. Other guests allow the door to slam shut and that is loud and disruptive at night.

The hotel is located a few minutes walk from South Kensington tube and it's a straight ride to Kings Cross, so if you're arriving into KX, it's a very easy journey (Piccadilly line). The hotel was exactly what I expected and is very well maintained and decorated, located straight across from a taxi rank, which was very useful. Set in a nice quiet area but with everything you need within a couple of minutes walk. The staff were superb, super helpful and informative, they really made us feel welcome. We had a free upgrade to a superior room, the bed was huge and extremely comfortable and the shower was outstanding (large enclosure and lots of water pressure).

The superior rooms are still on the small size and storage is an issue (no hanging space for long dresses) and we struggled to find room for the shopping bags we accumulated over the weekend (first world problems obvs), however, this would definitely not stop me returning and are small gripes given the excellent value for money we felt we had.

Staff were lovely and checked in frequently to ensure I was happy with everything. When a small issue was raised, they resolved it immediately. House keeping came promptly to clean our room each day and we had a lovely quiet room just as requested. Would definitely stay here again when in London. Thank you!

I wanted to receive my receipt by email. Three attempts to send it to me but it has not arrived in either my junk mail or main mail. This is a bit disappointing as I need a copy of the receipt. I think there is a problem with the hotel email system as you have assured me that you have my correct address. It would be good if you could sort this out for future customers.

Room was very comfortable, nice furnishings, extremely clean, very modern and efficient wiring; and ours was very very quiet- wonderful. The location could not be better: easy access to buses, tube, and taxis, plus lots of good places to eat. Close to museums and parks and Harrods, if that's your thing. Breakfast is not cheap, but there are many a la carte choices, and they are very tasty; plus you can ask to modify any order. Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. Wonderful stay. Would book again in a heartbeat.

“I have been a regular guest at the hotel since 2021, but I’ve noticed some changes recently, such as the type of shampoo and lotion being used. In previous years, you could really feel like you were in a 5-star hotel because the products were luxurious and expensive, like the ones from the French brand L’Occitane. However, now there is a shampoo and conditioner dispenser attached to the wall, and I really didn’t like that at all. Also, the staff’s attitude and service used to be much better compared to now.”

We just love staying at the Ampersand Hotel and this time our room was even better, very spacious with a large and extremely comfortable bed. Staff are friendly and helpful, and we always receive a very warm welcome on our return visits. A very classy, boutique hotel in a very convenient location near to South Kensington tube station.

We loved that we were upgraded again, so this is not a complaint ... but our lovely room was just a bit tight for the size of the very big and extremely comfortable bed!

I had such a lovely experience at The Ampersand Hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming—truly going out of their way to make me feel comfortable. The room was spotless and beautifully designed, with a super comfy bed that made it hard to leave in the mornings. The location is fantastic—right in the heart of South Kensington, close to everything but still peaceful. Everything about my stay felt thoughtfully curated and elegant. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Unique, well presented hotel in a prime location close to the Albert Hall (as we had come from the Proms) & Museums; V&A, Natural History & Science a 5min walk away. Room was bright & well equipped with all we could need for our stay. Bed was very comfortable too. They even gave us a quiet room with bedding & shower only as we had requested at booking. Staff were excellent & offer and high quality service throughout the hotel. Breakfasts options were varied & food was delicious & of a high standard.

The room was smaller than we expected for a superior double. Tea/ Coffee making facilities in wardrobe needs a rethink - we had to move the tray onto the table as we needed the wardrobe space. 13% service charge on breakfast - bit cheeky!

This was a fairly small room, though not as small as some places we've been, and exactly as advertised. What stands out aside from that, however, is that this is probably the nicest hotel room that we've ever had the pleasure of visiting. I could find zero to complain about or wish were better: everything top-shelf, from the linens, to room fixtures, decoration, functionality (heating/air), etc. Bathroom had everything we needed. Everything in perfect shape. Exceptionally helpful staff. Just all splendid for our stay.

Literally nothing. This would be our first choice when returning to London. We were in London twice this vacation, and wish we could have just come back here on our second leg.
