Theakstons Old Peculiar on Draught was the highlight! The room was superb especially like that it had a stove in the corner. The good was excellent and big portions. The cooked breakfast was great. The river Swale was at high flow over the Waterfalls but I didn't have my kayak! The location is great. I was lucky enough to see the Northern Lights as well! 😃 Perfect.
The only couple of problems were that the hot water wasn't working one morning but it was quickly rectified. The window on the car park side of room 7 needs attention as wind was blowing through it when closed albeit it was very windy that night.

The breakfast was excellent we were greeted by Dave who fully explained the situation regarding cereal fruit juice and coffee whilst showing us to our seat. He informed us that he would return to take our order for the cooked breakfast which he did and as I say was well prepared and of excellent quality. Dave returning to ensure all was well with us or if we required anything extra El one of the employees who served us during the evening of our stay was very pleasant and friendly whilst being very efficient to all our needs and requirements whilst serving and attending to us during our evening meal We single out those two employees but others who we didn’t interact with seemed to efficiently get on with their work
We did not dislike anything

It's so much quicker to say what we didn't like, but here we go. We stayed in one of the superior double en-suite rooms which was the one with the bath, and wow, what a bath. The bathroom was spacious, stunning and very clean and shiney. The bedroom area was also spacious, clean and comfortable. For an Inn in the middle of 'nothingness' we were more than happy with our room and very suprised at the size. Every member of staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. They were a joy to be in the company of. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. We had our evening meal here and every meal we saw come out looked very appertising. Hubby had the half rack of ribs which he said were really, really good. Now I'm not a big eater, but I love a Yorkshire pudding, so when I saw 'Giant Filled Yorkshire Pud' on the menu, I had to have it. Expecting a dinner plate sized Yorkie filled with meat and veg, I got it slightly wrong. Not only was it dinner plate size horizontaly, it was the same size vertically, and it was filled to the top! Delicious as it was, I couldn't finish it, and neither could hubby finish my leftovers (which is unusual for him). The whole experience of spending the night here was brilliant. Well done and thank you to every member of staff for making our stay that way.
So now on to what we didn't like........ It was a cloudy night so couldn't see any stars! That was the only thing we didn't like and not a thing that even the wonderful staff could sort out for us, but I'm sure they would have if it had been within their powers x

Location amazing Staff are amazing and no messing around with them either The food was decent (considering how busy it was) Room/dome amazing Lost my table I booked and it ruined the evening, was given a another table that was too small, took half hour just to sort that and put.my food order in,, but next morning service for breakfast made up for it, whole issue was other customers not being on time so its not the staff, Campervans run riot on a friday night, so I won't book a weekend again, campers sneakily use the shared toilets and shower that's for the dome/room bookings, they know this they have their own shared facilities, Campervans shouldn't be allowed to hold a spot for their mates, could see this, and was holding others up, war zone with them lot, and I have a campervan, Suppose you get the jist, they pay 5 quid donation for the privilege, or you can pay 180 quid for you and the missis with the exact same privileges, The site needs to control campervans better by allocating spots maybe,

A unique pub in an amazing setting. The atmosphere was incredible. The wind was howling, the fire was roaring, we sang songs and got drunk. A couple of other reviewers have mentioned the price of the rooms being high. I take the point but, the fact is, the owners are doing a great job keeping such a remote pub open. The costs to run the place would be very high (due to its remoteness, the pub runs off a giant generator etc). I hope to be able to revisit the Tann Hill Inn in the future and in these challenging time for pubs and restaurants, I’m happy to pay a premium to support such a great place.

Amazing scenery all round driving up to the Inn. A wonderful aquainted building, set just in the middle of nowhere. Inside, is a gorgeous, cosy and inviting bar. Met with a warm and happy welcome by the bar staff! They were such nice people and very accommodating. Our room was cosy with fantastic views plus with our window open you could hear the iconic sounds of many bleeting sheep! The food was lovely and so was the ale! Overall we had a fantastic stay!
The shower had fixed head in ceiling. I like a flexible shower head and lead. No herbal teas offered with tea and coffee in the room. No souveniers to buy!

It was a unique experience. The inn’s remote location offers breathtaking views in every direction. The atmosphere was fantastic, with travelers, explorers, and adventurers sharing stories. Plus, the breakfast, beers, room, and service were excellent.
The breakfast area felt a bit tight when it was busy, and the en-suite was quite narrow, with a broken lamp fitting—perhaps knocked off due to the limited space. However, these were only minor issues and didn’t take away from an otherwise excellent experience.

Really helpful and friendly staff. Even the staff that were new were honest about what they didn't know and proactive in finding out and being as helpful as possible. We stayed here when walking the Pennine Way and it was exactly what we needed. Granted there aren't really any other options in the area(!) but I would go back anyway. Being in such a remote location, it must be tricky to cater to all the different types of guests that they get but they're doing a great job. A very 'pubby pub' with a real fire and good beers, very suitable for dogs and walkers. Also, a more restauranty area with very good food. The breakfast was lovely too. If you're staying in the glamping pod, I would recommend taking flip flops or other slip-on shoes just to get to the bathroom though! We didn't think of that and only had walking boots which was a bit of a faff.
Really clutching at straws but I found it strange to serve Apple Crumble on a flat wooden board! You could only pour the cream (or custard) into the hot metal pan that the crumble was served in which meant you had to have it covering the whole thing. It was still a delicious crumble but I think it'd be easier to just serve it in a bowl!

Superb remote location at high altitude. Walked there from Kirkby Stephen & over the Nine Standards in rain all day. Tired for last few miles up from Ravenseat but lovely warm welcome at this old Inn with cosy log fires & great beer. Excellent dinner & breakfast. Glamping pod very comfortable and warm, hot shower nearby.
Was expecting a view from the glamping pod instead of the courtyard. Had hoped to meet more walkers there but others seemed to have all arrived by car. Could have paid a much cheaper price direct with the property.

This was excellent value for money and the bed was really big and clean. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty.
The only room that did not allow dogs was booked and therefore I had a dog friendly room (which is understandable given the wonderful position of the Inn). However, the room really smelt badly of dog which wasnt sorted when opening the window fully. The floors were wooden but the large rug seemed to be the mian issue. This could do with being removed when a dog is not in the room and the plug in air freshener needs replacing.
