We had a lovely stay at the Village Hotel Edinburgh! It’s a great family-friendly hotel with everything you need right on-site. The indoor pool was a big hit with the kids, and having a Starbucks and a pub right in the lobby made it super convenient for grabbing a quick coffee or relaxing in the evening. The hotel is also in a great location—just a short walk to bus stops that took us easily to top sights like Edinburgh Castle, Victoria Street, and the Scottish Monument. The area felt safe and well-connected, which made exploring the city really easy. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place for families or anyone looking for a comfortable stay with good amenities and easy access to Edinburgh’s best attractions.

We loved the hotel room, it was perfect. Everything was clean and organized and the bed was very comfortable. Towels were provided as well as other handy things like a hair dryer and iron. The staff there are very polite and answered all our questions which helped us a lot. We used the gym and pool within the hotel and we loved it. We enjoyed our stay there very much!
The only thing that bothered us was the pool changing rooms because of how much water there was on the floors, it was difficult getting ready there. We also think the food in the hotel was quite pricey but other than that everything else was great.

Familiar with set up and stsndard as been to sister hotel in Glasgow several times.
Off hand attitude of 1 of the hotel reception staff. We mentioned issue with bathroom sink so they could advise maintenance and reply was 'this is how the sink works (patronising), its a common fault, you could've taken your screwdriver to that and have fixed it'. No prompt or friendly service from same staff member another occasion, felt like we were interrupting them, they continued to tap into keyboard and ignored us waiting, bit of a sigh and sharp 'yes, can I help' etc. Felt like they were in a mood and taking it out on guests. Items left on carpet and bathroom floors not spotted and hoovered up from previous ooccupiers. Stripped bed on departure, duvet had large 'coffee' brown stain on it - yuck.

Good hotel for family and they gave leisure activities for everyone such swimming, football game, GYM etc. Special thanks to Preeti she helped for smooth checkout and breakfast booking.
According to the information provided, the last food order at the bar was supposed to be at 9:30 PM. However, when I requested a chicken burger at 8:20 PM, the staff informed me that the kitchen was already closed and no more orders were being taken. I mentioned that it was still within the order time, but my concern was dismissed without explanation. Additionally, I found it quite unprofessional that while we were still eating, a staff member approached us and asked if we were done so they could clear the plates. A similar incident occurred during breakfast with another family seated near us, which made the experience feel rushed. I’m not sure if this is part of the hotel’s standard procedure or due to a shortage of crockery, but it did affect the overall dining experience.

Our room was lovely, a big comfy bed and very quiet. There was tea and coffee supplied. We both slep so well! The gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were fantastic. We made use of this daily and also really appreciated on our check out we were allowed to stil use the sauna as we had some time before our flight. The staff were super helpful and changing room were clean. Really super stay and we didn't want to leave.
The breakfast could be better. The food is okay but just not cooked to a great standard. Soggy hashbrowns, under cooked bacon and dry, tough suusages, mould on the bread. I think it would benefit from some extra care from the chef's and maybe some improved products. Fruit was limited and the pastries were stale when we ate at 8am.

The hotel is modern and with all amenities you can expect; gym, pool, spa, restaurant/bar. Free parking at weekends is also a cherry on the cake. The room is nice, reasonably sized and with a nice shower. The acoustic insulation was great and we had 3 quiet nights. Both the room and any other areas I visited were super clean. The location is also great, a few minutes drive (or longer walk) from the seaside but also very well served by public transport to access the city centre.
Staff was mostly friendly, courteous and efficient; however I had mixed experience from bar/restaurant staff. The wagyu burger I had one evening was essentially charred to crunchy and same for the bacon which came with it. Arriving 30 minutes before kitchen closure we probably bumped into someone at the end of his shift but his customer service skill were long forgotten and patience run out. Instead of Starbucks I would have preferred to have an independent café but that's just my personal taste.

The hotel was handy for us because it's close to the WGH. Easy to find decent parking area. Used the the leisure facility which was pretty good. Food in the bar for dinner and breakfast was ok Considering that there is nothing in the surrounding area.
First thing, I received email via booking.com saying not to forget extras ie £5 to use the pool etc plus £5 for the parking. This confused me but when I checked in at the reception they said that it was all included in the booking. The bathroom, plug in hand basin was closed solid, so the water didn't drain and the toilet was hard to flush if it did flush the water would run for 5 or so min. Did report via QR scan and to reception. The bar was way to dark and loud.

Clean hotel with restaurant l,swimming pool.
Swimming pool not deep.sauna is not hot ,jacuzzi is turning off every 10 minutes, and we never got chance to be in jacuzzi as there one big lady sit 2 hours in jacuzzi alone with no place for others.we travel a lot and our daughter swimmer and use swimming pool everywhere and sauna with us.but here not allowed to go in sauna with kids under 15 years. But onn arrival I ask receptionist if any restrictions for kids in swimming pool or sauna?he told that no reatrictions.Sauna aprox 50 degrees.on reception we been charged twice for our room, thanx for girl on reception which inform us in the morning about it,so we got our money back in 4 days. The hotel is good to stay. Will come again .

Pleasant room, despite the non-view of the light well. Breakfast very good. Bed very comfortable.
I was very annoyed, on ordering a sweet after our main course, that we were not eligible for the reduction applied if you order the two together. Surely the criterion should be the fact of ordering a dessert when you have already had, or are going to have, a main course, thus justifying a two-course reduction. Also, as an elderly person, you very often don't know if you'll want a dessert, depending on how large the main course turns out to be - a case of discriminatory ageism? In any event, the differential pricing should be made much clearer - across the top of the menu, for example, and not hidden away in the small print.

The hotel offers free parking, amazing fitness facilities and a great swimming pool. We saw people coming to the hotel just for the fitness facilities which is rather rare for hotels in general. Dinner was great but (see below). Parking is free and the area is big enough that there should always be spot for you.
At arrival there was a minor issue with checking in and we didn't receive the warmest welcome but this was resolved after a couple of minutes. The breakfast has very limited choice. If you look at all the fitness facilities you would assume many more healthy breakfast options, but there were none except some berries and Greek yogurt. Also for dinner I would expect that you could at least order some veggies on the side but that was not possible - if you picked food that didn't come with veggies you were out of luck. If you plan the visit Edinburgh centre then you either need to use car or take a bus as the hotel is far away from the centre.
