The breakfast exceeded our expectations, we had wonderful fresh fruit and yoghurt and a cooked English breakfast, it was absolutely delicious. The location was within a 15 minute walk to the Centre of Cheltenham, so a really great location. We loved everything about Laurel House, from the moment we met our hosts until the moment we left they were the most accommodating friendly and helpful people you could wish for. The apartment exceeded our expectations. It was warm, comfortable spacious, amazingly equipped, we were truly sorry to leave. There was free parking at the property, another big plus for us.

There was nothing that could have been done better, we cannot think of a single thing.

The hosts were lovely, very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was cooked to order and noting was too much trouble. Our room was a great size and although we overlooked the road, it did not disturb our sleep. The bed was very comfy and the pillows were of a good quality. The shower was hot and the hosts provided shower gel and shampoo if you forgot your own. If you also wanted more teabags and/or milk you only had to ask.

Because the room was so large it is easy to miss ceiling cobwebs and as an ex housekeeper I have a nose for cleanliness. The toilet cistern at the sides was a bit dusty - a quick wipe with a duster would soon bring it up to scratch.

This was an amazing place. Perfectly located for trips to Cheltenham centre. Hugh and Gilly are wonderful hosts, made us feel so at home. The breakfast was fantastic, so much offered and everything was super tasty and fresh. The apartment had everything you could want and more, sofas, tvs, kitchen, storage. We only stayed one night but both agreed we could stay there for longer easily. Everywhere was clean and tidy, really relaxing place. The beds get their own paragraph. Everything about them makes you never want to get up, the pillows are snuggly, the quilt almost hugs you, but isn't too warm (we had a brief heat wave during our stay!) and the mattress was perfect. Really relaxing sleep. The wifi is excellent, I was able to do my work before breakfast, fast and no drop outs. It really felt like a home away from home and we will definitely return when anything brings us back near/in Cheltenham.

The house was light and airey, parking on site, and an easy walk into the centre of town. The hosts were very helpful, we stayed in the basement apartment which had a very comfortable lounge, and breakfast was served at the table. My partner said that it was the best cooked breakfast he had eaten in a hotel for a long time. My breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was excellent as was the fresh fruit , yoghurt and selection of cereals. Altogether a pleasant stay , in a comfortable room, you could not wish for more.

We only stayed one night and there were no negative aspects.

My stay at Laurel House could not have been more comfortable or agreeable . I was able to park easily at the premises and was greeted warmly and shown around my spacious apartment which was, on a cold night , very warm and welcoming. I was able to relax in comfy chairs and take a lovely warm bath. I appreciated details such as milk in the fridge, snacks TV and an extremely comfortable bed and top quality bedding . The icing on the cake was a super full cooked breakfast prepared skilfully by my very friendly hosts. I would highly recommend Laurel House and will certainly return myself .

What's not to like? The location, with free parking available, was a comfortable ten minute walk into the town centre. The accommodation was absolutely top drawer, with the additional bonus of being able to access the very pretty garden (we stayed in July). The breakfast was wonderful - a choice of fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurts etc as a prelude to a cooked course (I opted for the Full English, my wife for smoked salmon with scrambled eggs). We were so full we didn't require lunch. The hosts, Hugh and Jillie were delightful - charming, helpful and fun. They are masters of striking the right balance between being available if you need or want them and giving you enough space and time to be on your own when you want. We asked for restaurant recommendations and they pointed us towards Petit Coco - a smashing little French bistro a short walk from Laurel House. The next day they were anxious to know whether we had enjoyed it - which we absolutely had. Their recommendation, like everything else about our stay at Laurel House, was just simply perfect.

Lovely breakfast, with good variety, lovely quality, all excellent. Massive apartment compared with most - the whole lower ground floor of a lovely house. Good wi-fi, massive sitting room, massive TV in there and another in the double bedroom.

I can't really fault it at all. I guess because the staircase leads right from the lobby, and is carpeted, we should have had a suggestion to remove our outdoor shoes. As it was, we'd been on some slightly muddy grass and were embarrassed to see some mud on the carpet. The host was very chilled about it.

The property was very well maintained, inside and outside with ample parking. Only a short 10-15 minute walk to the main shopping area. We had the basement flat which had a large living room, large double bedroom, single bedroom, own kitchen and bathroom with both shower and bath. All linen was provided.

Our only issue we could highlight was with the door from the property entrance to our staircase down, as it did not have a lock on it so was open to anyone within the property. We did not bring this up with the owners as we felt comfortable with them and didn’t feel it was an issue with them directly but with other guests we had to take a risk.

Such a friendly relaxed welcome from our host Hugh. It really felt like a home from home with lovely spacious rooms, interesting books and plenty of magazines to keep you entertained. Lovely comfortable beds and a real sense of being welcomed and looked after by our hosts. Not to mention a delicious breakfast!

Not much! Maybe a few more items of cutlery in the kitchen would be useful. But as the access to a kitchen is such a bonus anyway we really didn't have any complaints!

A beautiful Victorian house full of character. Really well placed - just 10 minutes from Cheltenham Town FC ( and close to the racecourse ). Walkable from railway station and close to town centre. Friendly greeting - Hugh and Jilly are fantastic hosts. Small hotel with a real personal touch. Amazing, fantastic large bedroom with modern en suite. Tastefully decor - a real home from home. WiFi is good - fast and reliable Tea & coffee in room with proper fresh milk supplied. Comfortable bed and very quiet so I got a great nights sleep. Top class breakfast made to order. Made to feel so at home and so welcome. This was the best family run small hotel I have stayed in - I can’t praise them highly enough. I would choose Laurel House every time if I was staying in the area.
