The Inn is in the heart of Castleton, providing access to lots of the walking trails, even without a car. The room was sufficient for my needs, although the bathroom was really small and it was a squeeze. Well stocked with coffee and tea and some biscuits. The inn runs a pub downstairs that serves drinks and a good selection of food. Nice seating place outside the inn, if you wanted to enjoy the fresh air and hill views while having your meal. Breakfast was excellent, unlimited coffee, tea, cereal, toast and a selection of hot, cooked breakfast made to order. Close to Peveril Castle and Peak Cavern. Winnat's pass and the other caverns also within short walk
Breakfast starts a bit late at 8.30, so not so ideal for those who wanted to start their adventures early. There is also an alarm until 7am, so not able to leave earlier for a wander around too.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, with tea/coffee making facilities and a nice shower. The breakfast was really good and the food in general served in the pub was fresh and lovely. The location was very good - could easily walk to Winnat's pass and Mam Tor. Although the room was directly above the restaurant, noise was minimal - you could only really hear when people laughed or the odd dog barking, but I didn't notice much noise at all past about 10pm.
The room was a bit chilly when I first arrived, but I just turned the radiator up and it warmed up in no time.

We had a really enjoyable stay. The room was clean and provided us with everything we needed. the weather was very cold but the room was really warm and comfortable. the staff were friendly and very efficient. The breakfast was the best we have had in Castleton.
There are no negative things to say about our stay. The hotel is in keeping with the general expectations of the Castleton environment . We stayed for my partners birthday and enjoyed our stay. The room was warm and clean and the public bar downstairs was welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was exceptional, The staff were very good. We look forward to staying again in the future.

Lovely, welcoming bed and breakfast with free parking directly across the road. Excellent location for hiking around Castleton and Mam Tor.Nice room with very comfortable bed. Cosy pub serving beautiful food at great prices. We had the roast beef dinner with us being there on a Sunday which was amazing. An added bonus to staying on a Sunday was the Pub Quiz, play your cards right and bingo. A great breakfast too. We will definitely be booking again. Staff were all so friendly.
There is nothing not to like about the property, everything was great.

It was very welcoming when we arrived, although our rooms had a heating problem they got it fixed in the evening while we ate. Menu looked good - Wish we'd been able to eat here but we were meeting colleagues at their accom/pub up the road - which was chilly and empty (only us there) in the bar and the food was more expensive and had less choice. Bed was super comfy - one of the best I've had, shower was good too and plenty of tea/coffee etc Breakfast was good- just good quality food and the right sort of choices, also Excellent freshly brewed coffee. Again would have been exceeds expecations - yog and raspberries blueberries etc - nice OJ, cooked breakfast was huge - I was surprised to see smoked salmon and scrambled eggs (amazing in this price hotel) but the salmon delivery was late, never the less the eggs were good. Staff really lovely - both on arrival and at breakfast
It would have been exceeded expectations for everything - but the cold-weather-gremlins had struck - and inevitably the central heating to the bedrooms was down when we arrived (guessing it was the pump as downstiars was warm) but they had provided fan heater in each room so was manageable - and it was fixed while we were out getting a meal. . The rooms would have felt a bit cramped for suitcases etc if there had been two staying.

Everyone was so accommodating and kind and really, really friendly. Top quality, well kept cask ales. The kitchen were totally flexible to my food intolerances and Amanda even went out of her way to find bread that I can eat. The room was lovely, the en suite was spot on. Even the music in the bar was great. The hotel has parking. Breakfast was wonderful.
Erm...... seriously? Anything I could say would be overly picky. My tv didn't work; someone came and fixed it. There was nothing wrong with the hotel whatsoever. Oh boy the traffic noise at the weekends is mental! But that's just Castleton in July. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again.

This was our second stay here. We came back because we loved it so much. Very cosy pub, amazing location, lovely staff, great all round! We stayed in room 7, which we called the little cave. We had the best nights sleep, amazing room. A little noisy from traffic, just need some earplugs! But we still slept like babies!
My only little issue was the plastic cups in a plastic bag that were laid out for drinking water. Purely from a sustainable viewpoint, it would be great if these could be exchanged for reusable tumblers 😊

The location is ideal: nestled in the heart of the Hope Valley beneath the atmospheric Peveril Castle, the inn is perfectly placed for walks to caverns, hikes up Mam Tor or buses further afield if the weather isn’t being cooperative. It provides front row views of The Garland Day procession too. The room was cosy, comfortable and provided three excellent nights’ sleep. The breakfast included was decent enough and the pub itself offers a good selection of hearty traditional fare and cask ales served by friendly staff.

The food was all exceptional. We dined there twice and enjoyed 3 perfect breakfasts . The dinners were generous and good quality ... home cooked pies and the best sticky toffee pudding I've ever had. Everything was clean. Location perfect for enjoying the many features of Castleton. Staff all friendly, helpful and efficient.
Our room was quite small . However, it was advertised as such in fairness. Lack of plug sockets in bedroom Even a bedside lamp was unusable as it did not have a socket !

The food was amazing. Even the small plates are more than enough. The breakfast was cooked to order and fabulous. The sausage especially was yummy. The bedroom was comfy and more than big enough for a short stay, room five. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
The only thing I would say and it's from a personal perspective, was that the sliding door on the bathroom did not give much privacy. If it doesn't bother you to have a fully closing door, then it will be fine. Lovely touch of the toiletries for use.
