We had a lovely stay at this charming bed and breakfast. The host was exceptionally welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, which added to the comfort of our stay. The property is set in a peaceful and quiet location—perfect for those looking to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle. Breakfast was another highlight. The host was very accommodating to our dietary needs, and the portions were generous and satisfying—an excellent way to start each day. We also appreciated the fast and reliable Wi-Fi connection, which made it easy to stay connected during our visit.
One thing to note, however, is that getting to the B&B can be a bit tricky if you don’t have a car. It’s somewhat off the beaten path, so travellers relying on public transport or walking should plan ahead.

This was a terrific place to stay - I can't fault it in any respect. I was arriving late and the host took the trouble to send a video explaining how to access the property and the room which made the process completely stress free. The house is lovely and in a beautiful setting and the room was beautiful too, with everything you could possibly need. And the breakfast! I didn't need to eat anything for the rest of the day. I can't recommend The Draen highly enough; a lovely place with a charming and friendly host. Will go back as soon as I can!
The only thing I didn't like was having to leave in the morning! I can't find any faults with this place.

What a wonderful stay! The house is absolutely beautiful, set in a breathtaking location. The bed was the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in and the breakfast was delightful. The host was absolutely fabulous, really lovely and very accommodating. We honestly couldn't have wished for more. The only downside was that we only had a one night stay so will definitely be going back to spend more time in this amazing place!
Absolutely nothing!

Gorgeous location and Sue was amazing. She was so accommodating. We had been working in Devon that morning and wasn’t sure what time we would arrive so I called up and Sue was so lovely on the phone telling us not to worry and reassured us that it was okay if we were running late. Myself and my daughter were greeted once we arrived and show to our rooms. we had to leave so early for work the next day but would have happily stayed longer otherwise. Perfect host in a perfect location. Thank you
We have no negatives whatsoever

Susan the host was fantastic and very helpful. The room we stayed in was basic, but was exceptionally clean and comfortable and certainly value for money. The breakfast was also superb. If you looking for something out in the countryside with views of fields and animals, this is your place. It is also perfectly located for a bit of hiking and walking in the mountains of southern Wales.
Honestly, no complaints. The weather was a bit crap while we were there, but that is the UK in winter for you and nothing to do with the property.

What can I say, everything!!! The locationc countryside picturesque, quiet romantic, the bedroom huge. The bed so comfortable we stayed in rose suite you have your own private lounge with that.Sue is so friendly and we had a laugh. The breakfast best ever had in a b+b so beautifully cooked hot fresh and plenty of everything. Sue was so accommodating, couldn't do enough for you. We are going back in July for my husband and our 30th wedding anniversary can't wait.
Nothing!!!

The Draen is a classic Welsh cottage in a very peaceful location only a few minutes by car from Bronllys and Talgarth for somewhere to eat in the evening . The room was lovely, very clean and nicely decorated and we had our own area for breakfast. The breakfast was excellent with fresh local produce and piping hot. We were made to feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble and it will be our go to place when we are in the area again

If you're looking to visit the Welsh countryside, we can highly recommend The Draen. The bed was cosy, the breakfast delicious (& came with various options) and our host was more than welcoming. Overall, a very pleasant experience in a scenic environment!
A car is recommended, but if you're willing to sacrifice some flexibility, exploring the region on foot and via bus is absolutely possible. The next stop is about 30 minutes away, which is the only real downside - but if you intend to go hiking anyway, not much of a deterrent in our eyes.

I've stayed at the Draen multiple times and that speaks volumes in itself. Sue is always super friendly and goes out of her way to cater to your every need. Breakfasts are hearty and the room I invariably choose is a good size with a lovely big shower & a very comfortable bed; just perfect following a long day walking / sightseeing. The property is also very quiet. The bonus of course is the dark sky at night and stunning views over to the Black Mountains - no light pollution in this area so be prepared for a 3D sky display of billions of sharply faceted stars. I'm a photographer and I've taken some amazing night imagery and timelapses from the lane just up from the B&B. Thanks Sue for a lovely stay. :-)
Nothing at all - there is a long single track lane up to the property, but I've only once ever found myself having to reverse a bit for an oncoming vehicle.

Fantastic spot. Wished we had been able to stay 2-3 nights instead of just 1. Really great breakfast, lovely country setting and attentive hosts. The sitting area, both indoors and outdoors, were a plus.
Bathroom mirror lights didn't work (just need to replace the fluorescent bulbs) & the bathtub enclosure door was a bit fidgety but I considered these quite minor given the quality of all the rest.
